I do not think he looked slow and Seattle defense looked pretty solid. Looks like the keyed in on him. He had no running lanes it seemed like and was stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey a few times. The opportunities were there and he put up close to 20 without a touchdown in half PPR. I'll take that.

I have two shares of him (grabbed him late first in a redraft and fourth overall in a restricted keeper league - took him over Hampton) and my opinion of his value hasn't changed at all. I still view him as a second tier RB1 and late first/early second value in most formats.

So, yeah, content would be the mood.

Who do you have rated above him RB wise?

Assuming .5 ppr?

Bijan, Saquon, and Gibbs for sure (they're my top tier). I had CMC over Henry though could see an argument for Henry now. .

I had CMC and Jeanty similarly valued if that is helpful.

In short, I have:

Tier one: Bijan, Saquon, Gibbs (that's my order, but could see an argument for a different order)
Tier two: CMC, Henry, Jeanty (again, I could see any order here)
Tier three: Achane, Taylor, Chase Brown, Jacobs in some order (though I do have Achane top of the tier)

Week one didn't change this for me at all except I may take Henry over CMC now but they remain in the same tier.

I guess the question I have is if one game were enough to change your view of Henry in terms of what tier, why not CMC or Gibbs for that matter?

My view on their tiers hasn't changed. Just the order inside the respective tiers (though my ranking of Gibbs hasn't changed at all as him was in RB3 in the first tier).

Still did great, especially if not at 100% due to the leg thing. Kinda with Chaka that I don't think projecting every week usage at this weeks level will bode well for his longevity, but people who drafted him with confidence this summer were certainly rewarded week 1. He just didn't look like a healthy CMC to me. The most explosive play IMO was when he got the power boost from a player running into his back haha.

He looked good especially catching the ball. Seattle game planned to take him away running the ball.

I don't think people realize yet that Seattle is a top-5 NFL defense. Mike McDonald has absolutely been as advertised on that side of the ball.

ETA: Also, it was a weird week for RB efficiency. Henry and I guess Achane, were the only RBs taken in the 1st 2 rounds of fantasy drafts who topped 4 yards per carry.

And these two teams just know each other so well.
Heck, the 2 opposing offensive coordinators are brothers.

No surprise that this was an offensive slog.

To be fair to that play call, on the previous drive that they got stopped on 4th down, they gave it to him 3 times in a row within the 3 yard line.

This is why I drafted him second overall in my .5ppr/.5ppfd league. Also had him in 2023 and got a ring. Just amazing (for now).

Which quite honestly could be tomorrow but at least I didn’t give him away for a 2nd round pick before the season started because he sat out a few practices.

The funny thing is, this is closer to his floor than his ceiling. He's as good a TD scorer as there is in the NFL, and he has 1 through 3 games. Those are gonna come in bunches.

Not that I think McCaffrey is ever out of the woods for injury--who is?--but I'm beginning to wonder if rostering Brian Robinson is really worth it.

In other words, if McCaffrey were to miss time, what % of his usage and points would Robinson yield? I can't imagine it being much more than 50.

If I'm right . . . then Robinson is little more than a roster clogger and a stop gap for a potential hemorrhage that is either going to kill you--or not--without him.

People quickly forgot how good this guy is. CMC is RB1 when healthy. It's crazy that people were selling for guys like Chase Brown this offseason

That kind of pace is typically going to regress even without defenses putting a lot of emphasis on it. It's certainly reasonable to say it'll regress over time. As far as the running game, CMC just doesn't have the juice he once did. It happens to everyone.

I'd be more confident in him keeping up this pace with some rushing production. CMC is still obviously a pretty good player, so assuming health, he's got a chance to have a strong season if he can get going on the ground.

I agree11 targets a game absolutely has to regress but, IMO it will happen most likely because the return to health of guys like Jauan, Kittle and, eventually Aiyuk. But that just opens up other opportunities for CMC.

Fine, whatever. It’s not a (Tyreek) hill I need to die on. At the time I posted they both had exactly 72 points. But again, I don’t have to hold my breath every game/tackle. That’s why imo he has more value. Stress has a cost.

I haven’t forgotten anything, and I’m not a “hater”, as I’m a 49ers fan.
