Chuba is everything I was hoping Brooks might be.
Yeah, I got the order wrong, but do have both so it's still a win.NOBODY in the fantasy community got the Chubba/Brooks situation right. Nobody.
Good for Chubba. One of the best draft picks of the year in redraft.
I’m not saying this is a wise move for Carolina given their existing situation, but Chubba has been really good this year. It’s not like the contract is undeserved. If I was an NFL player, I'd want to hire Chubba's agent.
As long as he is healthy, Chuba is not going to be the # 2. Canales loves him as a runner and loves his character and work ethic. What if Brooks turns it as good as they hoped? I’m sure they didn’t take him in the 2nd thinking he’d be a good complimentary back. Chubba could be a very highly overpaid RB2 on his own team.Yeah, that's a bit baffling. If Brooks turns out to be anything they thought he could be, they could let Hubbard walk, let someone else pay him, and use those resources for a bigger issue of need. What are these guys doing? And right before their 2nd round RB is set to return. At least see what you have in Brooks first.
Are you talking all the analyst hype or on here? I've been saying since the beginning that Brooks would be slow to start and not to rely on him. I said I loved the talent coming out but for this year don't rely on Brooks. I even turned down an really good offer (them giving me brooks) because I said i need points this year and while the offer was good I couldn't accept.NOBODY in the fantasy community got the Chubba/Brooks situation right. Nobody.

Hopefully you have the talent, work ethic and leadership Chuba has too.If I was an NFL player, I'd want to hire Chubba's agent.

The Coachspeak Index
#Panthers OC Brad Idzik on Chuba Hubbard, Jonathon Brooks, and Miles Sanders:
“The elephant in the room being that Chuba is kind of taking that workload. But with that, you need to spell him, too, and we’re blessed to have two other guys that are really good runners behind him.”
You have held this long so might as well hold another week or two. It does sound like they want to work him in to see how he looks. My guess is he does OK but maybe tough to start as long as Chuba is the lead.I have both Chuba and Brooks in one league as well. It's a short bench and I am tempted to drop Brooks but I'll wait a bit to see how good he looks.
Brooks not playing today, so Chubba is looking like a starter this AM.You have held this long so might as well hold another week or two. I am curious how the split will work ROS.
I'm encouraged that it was via contact and he walked off on his own power. That did not look good.

I sold him last week before the Giants game for a 2 and a 4 in a league I was deep at RB as well. Maybe could have waited a week and added a small piece to him to grab a 1st, but in general I don't think many buyers don't believe Brooks won't at least turn into a meaningful 1B, therefore capping his overall upside. Maybe Tank Dell? I don't think he's going to get you a Pickens or JSN type.I'm trying to sell one of my RBs, Chuba being one of them, as I have Breece. CMC, Pacheco, Tracey and him.
What would be a WR target in his tier?
He may not get Pickens but I don’t think I could sell for Tank, personally.I sold him last week before the Giants game for a 2 and a 4 in a league I was deep at RB as well. ETA: I answered this from a dynasty perspective. Those might be guys to go after for redraft (JSN/Pickens)
Mike Evans.I'm trying to sell one of my RBs, Chuba being one of them, as I have Breece. CMC, Pacheco, Tracey and him.

@hotsauceguy was all over it
Well with Chubas new contract this discussion is pretty much mute but I still see brooks getting a few carries to get aclimated to the NFL game but not really affect Chuba, Quite frankly I dont even see why Carolina felt the need to draft an injured rb in round 2 at all. These aren’t my takes; they are the rationales suggested in this thread as to why brooks is no threat to chuba.I disagree with a couple of your takes here. This doesn’t make sense. The Panthers don’t want to win games, so they won’t play Brooks over Chuba, because he would cause them to win games (meaning he’d perform better than Chuba). But they will play him over Sanders (who is inferior to Chuba), thereby increasing their risk of winning more games?
1. I'm not sure Brooks is better than Chuba right away. Chuba is playing very well. Brooks is a rookie with no NFL experience AND he's coming off an ACL injury. While a lot of rookie RB's step in and succeed right away, the ACL adds a whole other layer to it. We typically see guys struggle that 1st year back, and look closer to themselves that 2nd season after the injury.
2. The Panthers RB situation isn't the difference in them winning/losing games. Bryce Young isn't a good QB. They traded away their best pass catcher. The Panthers are currently giving up the most points in the NFL. Brooks getting some carries, whether it's 5 or 30, won't be the reason they suddenly start winning games. Their future 1st round pick isn't going to get worse because Brooks elevated the team.
I think a smart football team brings Brooks in for ~5 touches/game the rest of the season. He can get a feel for the speed. He can get used to planting/cutting on the surgically repaired knee. Then next year, you make him the man.
He’s not good enough to replace chuba
They want a higher pick, so they won’t play brooks (the only logical explanation for that is he’s better than Chuba & would give them a better chance to win, thus hurting their draft pick)
They will let him take Sanders’ role (which, again, would suggest he’d be better than sanders, and “help” them win, this hurting their draft stock)
The reality is that all of these arguments are contradicting each other. If they were worried he would help them win, they wouldn’t play him at all. If they think he’s healthy, the will want to see him on NFL game action.
What Brooks or Chuba (or worse, those of us with both) want is irrelevant. And no matter how many times we post on a ff message board about what we think they should do, they’ll do what is best for their franchise.
And what’s best is to give him NFL playing experience if/when he’s healthy. And that will hurt Chuba’s FF value. Best case scenarios are: he doesn’t come of IR & Chuba stays the workhouse, OR he comes off IR & clearly supplants Chuba, and brooks becomes the workhorse.
I'm not sure but this is my 2 cents worth: He is a sure thing right now. Only sell for a sure thing WR (whatever that brings). Someone said not tank dell and I agree - he is more hope than sure.I'm trying to sell one of my RBs, Chuba being one of them, as I have Breece. CMC, Pacheco, Tracey and him.
What would be a WR target in his tier?
I do like Evans but right now I would keep Chubba over Evans as I want the continued points and Evans is still injured/not playing. I'd rather try to trade Tracy (probably) for Evans.Mike Evans.I'm trying to sell one of my RBs, Chuba being one of them, as I have Breece. CMC, Pacheco, Tracey and him.
What would be a WR target in his tier?
On bye. Owner may be sick of him being out.
When he gets back with that schedule he's going to roll.
you and me both. I'll break my arm patting myself on the back for this one.Not to toot my own horn, but I totally nailed it.NOBODY in the fantasy community got the Chubba/Brooks situation right. Nobody.
I’ve been consistent about Chuba’s ability and have said multiple times that the Panthers would likely not rush Brooks back.
Maybe I’m nobody in the FF community, but I definitely got this situation right.
Honestly I am kindof honing in on Pickens. I'll see what I can do.I sold him last week before the Giants game for a 2 and a 4 in a league I was deep at RB as well. Maybe could have waited a week and added a small piece to him to grab a 1st, but in general I don't think many buyers don't believe Brooks won't at least turn into a meaningful 1B, therefore capping his overall upside. I have tried offering Breece, Chuba and Tracey in a few talks now but it's hard out there. I love a duo of Breece/CMC and say a Pacheco or Tracey in flex, then an upgrade at WR personally. Maybe I am dumb.Keep him. Sell one of the other bigger names for more.
I think Pickens is a fair target for Chuba atm. I am hurting at WR badly after Olave is likely done for a long time and Cooper is oft-injured.I'm not sure but this is my 2 cents worth: He is a sure thing right now. Only sell for a sure thing WR (whatever that brings). Someone said not tank dell and I agree - he is more hope than sure.I'm trying to sell one of my RBs, Chuba being one of them, as I have Breece. CMC, Pacheco, Tracey and him.

Honestly, go find a WR you really really like that is producing and on a team that needs a RB. See what type of deal you can do either with Chubba or another RB.
Ended up trading Tracy for Devonta Smith. I love Tyrone and think he is progressing up hard, but with CMC/Breece/Chuba/Pacheco in front of him + injuries to Olave/Cooper, I had to do it.Keep him. Sell one of the other bigger names for more.
I got it correct also, but I’m also a nobody. I had him beating out Sanders after I saw one game last year. That was all I needed to see. No need to rush Brooks back.
Woah what? Nico >>>I was offered Hubbard for Nico Collins and I'm thinking about it
