RB Isiah Pacheco, KC (1 Viewer)

Damn.....I own Hunt and he has been in my lineup as one of my flex options ever since I acquired him. I'd really like to squeeze one more week out of him.

Hey Andy, let your boy get up to speed for a Wk.14 return.
Chiefs should roll Vegas despite the division rivalry. No need to rush him back for this one. Give me another week to come back strong week 14.

9 weeks of Hunt was more than a stop gap. But I thank him for his service nonetheless. Ended up being useful for 9/12 weeks of the FPC season. Would be curious to see how many Pacheco owners made it to the semis now that he's "back"

129/2751 FPC championship round teams have Pacheco (nice advantage if he takes over again) or around 4.7%

318 teams have Hunt or around 11.5%

I cannot see why they would not ease him back in slowly to make sure he is fully healthy for the playoffs. You would think that they would be cautious with him but, hey, a lot stranger things have happened.

He surely has typical post injury doubts and thoughts. They've gotta get him playing. He's gotta take a hit, make a nice cut....look like himself.
I agree with all the posts above just...they're definitely giving him some work to get over whatever he has to. He's not sitting when he's capable.
I could definitely see a share leaning towards Hunt some but more like- we have a lead, Hunt can run out the clock while Pacheco stays fresh.

Reid likes to have many players contributing. He's always had us saying how he hates FF in a joking manner. He's forcing defenses to prepare for a whole lot. He's giving guys a few plays off and keeping others sharp.

I would guess Steele and CEH get (a small amount of) carries that annoy people. If we're talking like their WRs are settled now then Hardman and Watson will get a bit of work. The other TEs have been getting some work all year.

He had Perine returning kicks and I don't remember Perine doing that before.

It's not even just that. The announcers will point out they're in a formation they haven't seen this year or this player is in an odd spot.

Andy is playing chess making defenses prepare for everything and anything. It works so well for reasons stated above. I can't imagine he stops doing it this year. He only needs a few plays here and there to do this. Ya can't overreact and you can't ignore it and..."Reid hates your FF team" saying

Having both of them in same leagues is making this impossible. I kind of wanted to see KC hold Pacheco out until the real NFL playoffs because I own Hunt in like 12 leagues and have been riding him while I only own Pacheco in a few.

Hunt has not been good for fantasy the last 2 weeks awful week 11 with 6 PPR pts and avg last week with 11.7

Couldn't they have played a tough defense to sit both easier but now it is unknown what to do.

That is what we all thought last year when LV beat KC on Christmas in Arrowhead. This is the NFL you just never know the Browns have 3 wins 2 of which are vs Balt and Pitt.

I think he’s hoping. I think it might be a Kareem Hunt GM. Sneaking suspicion ;)

yeah no idea what to think. Hunt has been clearly a plodder for a couple weeks now. Bringing in fresh legs makes all the sense in the world so I do think a 50/50 split makes the most sense on paper and reality. I really want to say they might even go pass heavier to give both backs a lighter load - but gamescript might be a blowout in their favor - but I don't think I can start Hunt with confidence but likely will with tempered expectations in a couple spots. I don't have any Pacheco but I don't think I could do it.

But I would absolutely not be surprised if he takes it over again today. Fresh legs, eager to get his job back, good recipe.

It's his backfield in 2 weeks time imo.
Does not help us this week though. I am benching Hunt in the places I can I have a couple I just can't I am not playing Pacheco where it matters.

I have cutline, FFPC super Sat's both in the playoffs so these are bigger than your normal regular season game. It's win or go home in the FFPC and in the cutline this is part 1 of the 2 week round 2 playoffs which are win or go to the WC bracket which is a death trap to get out of.

Needed Pacheco back last week to get a feel for what might happen.

If they start Pacheco he will probably play more than people expect if Hunt starts then Pacheco probably eased in.

Goal line is anyone's guess.

Perine is still a thorn in both guys sides on clear passing 3rd downs.

yeah I'm frickin torn at the moment with Hunt in one of my Flex spots (FPC round 1 just as you described). I don't hate my other options but Hunt could easily get me the 15 I probably need or he could get like 4. I have a couple decent upside WR plays but ugh this sucks. They have to ease Pacheco back in, right? right? haha and if so then Hunt might actually have a higher efficiency if he can get a breather. maybe he thinks his job is on the line as well. ugh.

ok well other options I won't announce until later but ATM could swing either way still.

My toughest call of the week is cutline playoff round I have 3 backs for 1 spot Hunt, Warren and Javonte. Just put Hunt in so usually when I put a guy in the final 10 mins before kickoff he duds. I just can't trust Javonte and Warren actually has a semi-tough matchup Cin #8 vs RB's in PPR.
I survived Hunt's 6 and 11 pts last 2 weeks so if he gets 10-15 that be great actually.

Brutal is what this is been dreading it for all my teams all week.

Glad I sat him today, but will need him ROS.

Next 3 matchups aren't exactly RB-friendly, however;

Chargers, Browns, and Texans all top-10 against Ff RB's. .....Chargers and Texans top 5.

Raiders with a middle-of-the-pack rushing defense, so Reid dials up nearly 70% passes today. 3D chess, I guess.
3D Chess is the only way to fly

So are we confident in starting him next week?
No way
Bijan-Monty-Pollard-Tracy...he's like No 4/ 5 on my roster right now, likely won't be able to use him until very late in the season, Chiefs will have the 1-seed sewn up already
Doubt we see a lot of him before the NFL Playoffs

Highly unlikely KC sews up the #1 seed anytime soon. They have a 1 game lead over a team that has the tiebreaker over them. Week 17 is probably the earliest they can clinch the #1 seed.

I would expect this week's workload to be Pacheco's floor, and Hunt's ceiling. Which was pretty much 50-50. I'd bet its 60-40 or more next week, in a very losable game against the Chargers.

I'd argue Pacheco is very much on par with Pollard/Tracy, in that lower tier of RB2s.

Hutchinson Brown
Kareem Hunt started solid for the first couple games with KC, but has been ineffective since then.

Isiah Pacheco already looked better than Hunt in his first game back, I expect the Chiefs to make the shift back to having Pacheco be THE GUY this week.

Moody
Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco could see a big workload Sunday.

Windy, rainy weather in Cleveland means a run-heavy game plan.

Pacheco had 16 touches last week, just his 2nd game back from a fractured fibula. Expect similar usage vs. the Browns. 📈

The Athletic’s Nate Taylor writes that the Chiefs “need a young, dynamic running back to pair with” Isiah Pacheco.
Rarely do you see a beat writer go with the word “need,” but here we are. Kansas City clearly had no juice in the running game all last season as Pacheco struggled to run the same after returning from a broken leg. Kareem Hunt was a steady veteran pounder but couldn’t hit a second gear. Taylor notes that Brett Veach has been quoted as saying running backs in Andy Reid’s offense “need to be a better receiver than a runner” and ties them to Georgia back Trevor Etienne

Dylan Sampson would be the perfect fit for them

I was in from the beginning but this ride feels like it's about to end. For a 7th round pick, the number of usable starts was pretty, pretty good. He seems like a guy that's going to stick around for a while but not necessarily ever be more than a very split backfield type of guy. With any luck, he's training his butt off and can learn and grow as a runner. Seems like he's a long shot to stick around as a starter. Might still be useful to keep around but more of an injury away guy soon.

Sure, but do they go RB in round 1?

I would .. At #31 you take the best player available so if Josh Simmons is off the board I’m going with Treyveon Henderson rather than over drafting a lineman. Henderson would open up that offense .. Shades of Jamaal Charles/Jahmry Gibbs and his pass pro is also excellent.

Pacheco looked cooked when he returned from injury.

Brashard Smith would be a smash fit here, and can be had later on.
He should bounce back this year. The injury is one of those that takes a year to recover from.

I'm not an NFL football player by any means, but I had pretty much the same injury, and you just need a lot of time. It is very similar to Pollard's injury, which was a full-year injury.

I had two surgeries and you can not really do anything for months and then have to get back into shape. It is mentally taxing as well. He should be fine this season.

I figured he might improve with more reps, but he looked worse as the season went on.

I hope for his sake the off season has helped, but you can't fault KC if they grab a RB in a deep draft.

I doubt it. They have a lot of FA on defense. But this is a deep RB class. If they’re only looking for a 3rd gear speedy compliment they can wait.
