RB Quinshon Judkins, CLE (30 Viewers)

I don't get why she would hang out with him for 5 days before going to the police. That part damages her credibility IMO.
This is not my opinion; more my nature of attempting to answer questions like these based on previous experiences. Again, not saying this is the case, or even that I think this is the case for Judkins situation:

Victims of DV in the past in similar situations as these have made the case/defense that they have little to no control in a relationship; and that especially when traveling to places unknown, can feel limited in means to "escape" their abuser. They "don't have money or means" to flee. If they do have a support system, they are not in driving distance and can't come get them. They will stay with the abuser until a time they are back in a known environment where they have access to money/vehicles/safe places they know they can go to not just get away, but be protected from their abuser. To add, women who are in an abusive relationship with a man tend not to be trusting of, or looking to, other strange men for help. When the option is the devil you know vs the devil you don't, they will get back in the car with the one she knows, much like this girl did.

I acknowledge people may not agree with the above, not only in this case, but in any case. Just putting out the information I've heard/experienced first hand and learned about with regards to power dynamics in relationships, including mentally/physically abusive ones. They are complex situations where rarely does logic apply, and often have a very strong mental component which has been built up over time, mostly revolving around feelings of powerlessness.

This is essentially what the government tried to argue in their prosecution against P Diddy to counter all the evidence the women willfully chose to stay and participate in his sexual encounters. In the end despite bringing in expert witness testimony to back up the kind of stuff you are saying in your post the jury still found their crediblity lacking, which is why he walked on two major charges.

But to me that's all beside the point because she actually addressed why she waited the 5 days in the police report and she said nothing about being scared or not able to escape. Just said she was going to sit on it as to not ruin his career but eventually after discussing it with friends and family she decided to go forward with it which just so happened to be the last day or two of an almost week long trip. To RC94's point that does strain credibility to me.

I will just add I'm assuming she was still in Ft Lauderdale when she called the police. But if it turned out she went home, family and friends saw the bruises, convinced her to contact the police. That's a different scenario that does make sense. But just hanging out with a guy for 4-5 days, waking up early on the last day or two of the trip deciding now's the time to report him does not make sense to me.
Not excusing him if DV did occur, but her language and tone in that phone call did not sound like a victim.

"I was assaulted by a high profile make"
1st off... aN NFL 2nd rd rookie that hasnt even signed his contract yet is not a very high profile male. Not one that could make things go away.

"Why did you wait so long to report the incident" ... "I thought we could work it out"
That could mean a couple of things; work its out as couple like seek therapy or could be cash settlement to keep it out of the news? and if Judkins couldn't or wouldn't afford what she wanted... people coached her and took her to the police station.

Bigger suspension upcoming, Rice or Judkins?
Judkins.
I think your right or it will be equal which is wild. Rice had 8 felonies on his head and could of killed multiple people while not even showing remorse as he walked away from that scebe like a coward... its a 1% chance that everything worked out for him the way it did.

Judkins is accused without evidence (at the moment) that would hold up in the court of law and on top of it is a misdemeanor; but people predicting he's going to miss a yr and half.

Just insane
NFL only cares about what looks worse in public opinion. Hitting women is a larger social disgrace than driving recklessly.

Yep. It’s not about severity of offense, it’s about optics. DV is as bad as it gets on the optics scale short of premeditated murder.

I have Ford in that Chubba tier of talent. Can perform well for maybe a season or two, but we all know it won't last very long. Slightly above JAG.
So he should be rostered in your opinion I assume? That was kind of my point with the poster that was saying he was a waste of a roster space.

Ford has decent size, good speed, is a good pass catcher and has a good missed tackle rate. He's a UFA next year as well, so for dynasty, could end up in a good committee situation for PPR. Not saying he's a league winner, but definitely not a waste of a roster space unless you have a really smoking roster.

Tucker just got 10 games and there is no evidence he "exposed himself" to the massage therapists (which is the only claim I have seen so far). He hasn't been found guilty of anything and claims he is innocent. In Judkins case, there is a woman who was abused. Granted, innocent until proven guilty but a woman he spent time with who has bruises on her face and arms seems a much bigger issue that what Tucker is accused of. A full season is reasonable IMO if the charges are true. Has to be harsh. Jameson Williams got 6 games just because he made a legal bet at a team facility. The NFL has odd stances on suspensions. Williams should have gotten a game at most.

100 percent agree with your opinion of the Rice situation. The "he was speeding and whatnot" spin of many is ridicules. The guy was a million kinds of lucky that someone wasn't killed or seriously hurt. Could have easily been a Henry Ruggs situation. All on video too and he walks away with a slap on the wrist. What was in those bags that the fellows were so intent on grabbing before they headed for the hills without checking to see if anyone was hurt or dead? I think we all know but since it can't be proven, it's a non-issue. It can't be proven because they committed a felony by leaving the scene of the crime. Crazy.

I did listen to that few days ago but did not feel like I could judge if she sounded like a victim a few days after it allegedly occurred but I did have some questions, some similar to yours, and I thought I discovered at least one inaccuracy already in her brief statements.

"I was assaulted by a high profile make"
1st off... aN NFL 2nd rd rookie that hasnt even signed his contract yet is not a very high profile male. Not one that could make things go away.
I also thought this was an odd thing to bring up because he's not that high profile. It's like for whatever reason she wanted to add some color/drama to her report.

"I thought we could work it out"
For the sake of accuracy what she said was "I thought we could work through it" which is slightly different then "work it out". Minor distinction but the former sounds more typical of a relationship, the latter sounds more typical of a negotiation.

She went on to add "but obviously we could not and I'm trying to do the right thing now". Which again just seems really odd she just woke up early on what was likely the last day of their trip and decided after a few days of hanging with him now was the time to do the "right thing". That's hard for me not be cynical about for various reasons.

people coached her and took her to the police station.
It certainly sounded like she went to the police station with another man. Where did he come from, how did he enter the picture considering she's on a trip with Judkins?

As for the inaccuracy in her statements, it's minor, but in the 911 call she stated the reasons she waited a few days was because they were trying to "work through it" but in the police report she said she waited because she felt bad about filing the report due to recent success of his career. Those are not the same thing to me.

I hate that my first thought reading that police report was that since it allegedly happened in his vehicle that there will be no video and it will ultimately be a he said / she said thing.

If it happened, I hope she's okay.
If it never happened, I hope her story crumbles.
I don't know that we'll ever know what really happened.
More of a he said, the bruises on her face say
She could've gotten those some other way, or even self inflicted. It wouldn't be the craziest thing that ever happened.

I'm not saying that's the case, but it's a possibility.

That is all too cryptic to be a real concern. If that is the best evidence against him, he won't see any issues.

Sound like the issue was her fault and he reacted but she was really the problem.
I have absolutely no idea how you got it was her fault considering the report says he punched her in the face, but you do you.
Sorry My Bad. I do not wish to say it was her fault .. but only that she instigated the situation ...

Reading the report she had apparently done something she was not willing to share with the police report that agitated him.
He said he was done with her after she did whatever she did and everybody was texting him about it.
The police report is missing any real disclosure from her on what happened.
Maybe she cheated on him with his dad and didn't want the cops to know, who cares? When you punch someone you become the bad guy, no matter what they're saying to you. If she was going at him physically then sure, but that's not what the statement says. And as of yet it's not what he's claiming.

This is like, playground logic man. The person who hits the other person first is wrong. We use our words and we walk away when we get angry. We don't hit.
Has he said anything? I only saw a lawyer statement denying the allegations.

I know for fantasy we want to know what's what now so we can make the correct decisions, but we shouldn't rush to judge in these situation IMO.

Agreed hitting makes him the villain but what if she gave him STD’s or something along those lines.
Last note on this before I drop it.

It is entirely irrelevant what she did to him as long as it was not physical in the moment. Period.
What if it was physical? If she slapped his face while he's driving? That's got an extra element of danger to it IMO.

None of us know, I wish people could resist the urge to judge whilst knowing so little about it.

It is the off-season, this is what we do. But you are right, bottom line is we do not know the full story. Chances are we may never as it is he said/she said.

I was told to not leave my house when getting divorced, but others told me to get out because they had false domestic violence charges against them

I left because I believe my ex-wife was capable of that. She "won" the divorce, but the peace of mind was worth it

The mob is hungry! There are numerous threads of players being thrown to the wolves without any chance to defend themselves. A lot of them are in the wrong, but there are also a lot of guys who are unfairly judged. It's the new world we live in. Just look at how many people jumped all over that CEO & HR lady. I would hate being a public figure in today's world.

Really. I miss the 90's and early 2000's before social media and smart phones. Hard to carry on an extra-marital affair these days :frown:

I have started consciously leaving my phone at home or in the car when I absolutely don't need it. So much more enjoyable when I am out. Now if I could get some of my friends to do the same thing

Yeah, you can "what if" this to any conclusion you want. Best practice here is to just sit back and wait for the people who actually matter in this siutation to figure things out.

Don't get your example, those 2 were caught red handed doing something wrong, and incredibly wrong to some. The mob is after them because they hold positions of power at that company and should be leading by example... plus that guy is kinda of a dbag especially his responses to the thing.
It would be like seeing Roger Goodell or Dana White somewhere public with another woman besides their wives... we would be destroying them

Thats actually crazy, just researched it and yeah... as far as everyone is concerned there is no evidence but I guess with multiple people giving the same ish story something went on. Surprised he agreed to 10 games and move on.

Maybe some folks aren't exposed to false allegations. That absolutely happen, I've seen a roommate falsely accused of rape hauled off in cuffs. And that false accuser, that was the 3rd time she'd falsely accused someone of rape and she never once faced any consequences for it.

I would expect that most accusations of this nature are valid, but a certain percentage definitely aren't, and that percentage that aren't valid goes up when the accuser has an opportunity to benefit monetarily from the accusation. I don't know what those percentages are, but I do know pretending that they're 0% is bad policy.

These players may choose to be honest with the league and have lawyers saying something else publicly. So, in that instance, maybe he admitted to something to the league?

While I believe he’s a far cry from Chuba in terms of talent, sometimes opportunity is enough for FF relevance.

At present we don’t know if he will have that. If it becomes more apparent he will, I might take a last round flier in redraft.

Chuba wins PFF game grading 75 to 71 overall and rushing 86 to 81

Chuba has been weak in the passing game thus far, but 86 for a rushing grade is excellent.

I always liked Ford as a runner, but Chuba is just better right now. Also if salaries and K length tells us anything then . . . Chuba by a mile.

Agree but Chuba got a real opportunity for a lead role which Ford hasn't had yet.

Mentioned this earlier, but worth repeating. Ford has good size, speed and pass catching ability. Plus an excellent missed tackle number. IMO, people calling him a JAG are plain wrong. People were calling Chuba a JAG before last year too.

Granted the Browns haven't shown any respect for Ford, but I wouldn't put much stock in the actions of the worst team in football over the last 20 years (based on record). They make a lot of miscalculations.

I have Ford in that Chubba tier of talent. Can perform well for maybe a season or two, but we all know it won't last very long. Slightly above JAG.
Chuba is way, way better than Ford. You might need to watch more Chuba.
Hubbard is legit a top-10 rusher in the NFL. One dimensional sure, but so is Jonathan Taylor, who Hubbard is basically a lesser (though more consistent) version of.

Also, I'd argue there is nobody in Carolina on Dylan Sampson's level. Brooks was, but who knows when he'll be back, or even if. While we are on the subject of Carolina/Cleveland backfields, I'd argue Ford is closer to Dowdle than Hubbard, and even then, I'd pick Dowdle.

Chuba runs faster than Ford and seems to be a more capable RB.
I think Chuba has better vision & is a more decisive runner as well. He’s also in a better offense & is more consistent.

Interestingly IIRC Ford had a slightly faster 40-time.

I like Ford more than most in here, and I do believe he’s a nice end of roster asset in redraft leagues as a BYE week filler, but I’d trust Chuba as a RB2 for a WR-heavy build. There’s not as much competition in CAR, and Chuba has performed capably in that offense.

Yep. Womenz is crazy! I've seen similar as well. I believe the saying goes: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

I’ve seen a few reports that the Ft Lauderdale PD released an updated victim incident report a few days ago and his accuser claims it’s not the first time he’s hit her, though never to this level.

I can’t find this report and the few people who have reported it do not provide any links or a much detail. It’s actually frustrating me and I wanted to ask if anyone knows where to find this or can provide a link?

Nope. Found the July 14th report. Where did you see this? I can’t even seem to find the “updated” claim. Here’s the report per Tom Pelissero

eta* I found it. It’s Noah Schaefer, some football junkie, posting at BrownsCentral on Instagram. I don’t have or want Insta so you’re on your own from there. He has a Twitter account but didn’t post that nugget there, so it sounds suspect. I don’t see any other reporting past July 15th and the report is at the link above, which says nothing about multiple incidents at other times. The report does say he started hitting her and continued to do so at various moments as time proceeded, but it seems to be one incident as of now. That could turn out to be totally wrong, but I think that’s where it stands.

Legal stuff aside; it's also troubling Judkins still isn't signed. It didn't seem as big of a deal when he was in a group of 30+ guys who weren't signed, but I think that number has now shrunk to 4 or 5 guys. We are about a month away from kickoff. As someone who was higher than consensus on Judkins profile and abilities as a RB, I'm basically tagging him DND at this point, at least not as his still relatively high ADP (~round 7). If he falls to double digit rounds maybe...

Thanks for trying to answer.

I got the initial info from Mary K Cabot and that info was in this tweet from July 24:

Updated: #Browns RB Quinshon Judkins' girlfriend told police there had been prior incidents of domestic violence, but nothing to the point of what occurred in this case, according to the incident provided on Thursday

After I saw that tweet I tried for a few days to find more info.

Found this from Google AI: Information available suggests that the woman who accused Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins of domestic violence has told Fort Lauderdale police that there were previous instances of domestic violence in their relationship, although none had escalated to the level of punches being thrown, which Judkins is now accused of

Also came across that same guy you did from Browns Central but I think he just got his info from MK Cabot and ran with it like it was his own. Perhaps that is also were AI got it's info?

I'd just think if MKC tweeted that info out in error she would have deleted or edited it.

but I think that number has now shrunk to 4 or 5 guys.
After Shermar Stewart he's the last one.

As someone who was higher than consensus on Judkins profile and abilities as a RB, I'm basically tagging him DND at this point
Same on both counts.

Was just talking to a old friend of mine yesterday and was telling him I kind of hope Rashee Rice gets a 6 game suspension so I can draft him at a nice discount but that I would not be drafting Judkins as of now, not until at minimum his case was resolved.

Just the fact he's not been around the team since mini-camp so even when he does return, unless it's real soon, he's way behind and can only hope the distraction of this is not keeping him from working out. But the major concern is we can't get to the suspension phase until his case is resolved one way or the other. The actual missed games for suspension, likely 6'ish, is by far the minor concern for me in all of this, with "when can we get to it" being the major issue.

I'm basically tagging him DND at this point, at least not as his still relatively high ADP (~round 7). If he falls to double digit rounds maybe
This is happening fwiw but I'm still cold on him. His actual ADP the last few days in FFPC is about 2 picks away from double digits but has gone as late as round 12/13 in some leagues.

The fact that rumors are swirling AND this guy has yet to sign his contract with TC's going all around the league in full gear now:

On a 1-10 scale of Red Flag/Oh S***-O-Meter:

7.25 for me right now.

'Tis worrisome

Same, probably closer to 8 for me. The fact that he has been silent in the process does not promote any confidence in how this will resolve. The only possible saving grace from an FF perspective for me is grabbing Sampson as well.

If he somehow goes unsigned and back into the draft next year, we are looking at a Maurice Clarett level fall from grace

I agree, his best bet is to get signed…take his punishment and scrutiny…and figure out how he can be a better human. Assuming he is guilty of what he was accused of…

I'm sure he'd like that but nothing is going to happen until his case is resolved.

Other then PR concerns the Browns are not going to sign him knowing he's heading to paid leave on the exempt list.
This makes sense financially for them; but is this what will cause him to basically have to reenter next years draft? Sorry I did try to google this myself but wasn't getting a clear answer. And then do the Browns get anything back or would it pretty much make the Judkins pick for them a wasted one?
