RB Quinshon Judkins, CLE (2 Viewers)

Can anyone explain why in God's name he would waive his right to a speedy trial?
I’m assuming it’s to buy more time to work out a plea deal.
I began to gather that after reading that Drew Davenport X thread some posts back.

I want to believe that it's all going to go "poof" they settled and he's suspended for 4-6, and comes in with some mid-season fresh legs at an opportune time. But my internal hope generator is broken on this. I blame Derrius Guice.
I lived through Guice as well and that stings but he did stuff that no one could ever associate with him again, even after he cleared some of it legally.

I will keep saying the realistic worst case scenario for Judkins is that he sits this year, case adjudicated in off-season, serves suspension of 6”ish games to begin 2026 season.

That’s awful, but I think it’s the worst case situation.
Didn't Guice get accused of r#pe by multiple women?

Pretty much but never got convicted fwiw.

And a dom vio charge trickled out first. Charges dropped after he reached a settlement. Then the sexual assault allegations buried him permanently.

Doesn’t anyone think that he’s thinking of himself here? And not his career? He’s said previously that he was going to fight this aggressively. Now he’s waived his right to a speedy trial - which, I dunno, seems to me he believes he’s somehow “innocent” of these charges.

Do we have an admission of guilt? Just maybe he’s being setup by a scorned ex.

This whole thing sucks. But there’s got to be a reason his council is allowing this to be prolonged.

Did he say he was going to fight it? Last time I read about it he had been fairly quiet on it. I did check out after I thankfully avoided having any shares.

It’s possible he opted out of the speedy trial if he is working on a settlement with his accuser. That would be his best option. Settle with the accuser and it becomes a lot harder to prosecute on the criminal side.
Sorry. It was some brown’s YouTuber guy in Cleveland that “speculated” he was going to fight this aggressively.

This was just on the news wire....

Browns RB Quinshon Judkins waived his right to a speedy trial, which could push the case into 2026.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said he was “cautiously optimistic” that Judkins would play in 2025, but that outcome now appears less likely. The second-round rookie remains unsigned as he awaits trial for his domestic battery arrest.
This would literally be the first time an NFL rookie missed an entire season due to a domestic violence situation. Out of hundreds of similar situations.

I find it pretty improbable that he doesn't play this season

How many of those players did not have signed NFL contracts when the charges came out? Before he can play, he has to sign and what that looks like at this point is uncharted territory.

I'm sure some got in trouble between the draft and camp.

I'm pretty sure he filed that to get his case pushed out past this season. He's going to sign his deal next, most likely without the guarantee that other 2nd round picks got, or maybe with an out for the Browns if he's convicted of a felony. And then he's going to play this season. He might start slow as he's missed a third of camp, but that's it for impact this year. Next year, depending on the outcome of his case, he'll get between 0 and 6 games suspended. The league will not put him on the commissioners exempt list for an entire season for a misdemeanor with zero evidence outside of the victim's testimony.

If anything else happens here I'll be shocked. The league protects it's image but it's been protecting it's players longer.

Zero evidence? What about the bruises? Obviously we don’t know if he put them there, but if they are pressing charges someone believes there’s enough evidence to do that.

I’m sorry, but it’s absurd to think that the NFL cares more about its players than the optics of the situation. The only thing they care about is their bottom line. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the NFL has already told the Browns that he will go on the exempt list. Maybe that’s why they are in no hurry to sign him. Why else is he not signed yet?

Agreed. And legal Twitter appears to be becoming more positive.

Judkins has a high powered defense attorney...this is a huge opening for dynasty owners that want to get Judkins on the cheap. His Player Profiler comp is Nick Chubb.

Hopefully not the current Chubb.

Hopefully we are able to find out someday.

A 1st round pick is not "cheap" IMO

As you pointed out, the bruises are not evidence that QJ hit her, they're just bruises that, in theory, could be from any number of things. It's her claim that he put them there that matters. Bruises support her claim but they're far from evidence that QJ is guilty.

You mean proof. They are clearly evidence. Do they prove he is guilty by themselves? , no.

He fell to 2.03 in a 16 team Rookie Draft, Sampson went 2.07ish if anyone is wondering what their values are
Thank you! I have a draft starting Saturday and was wondering.
High chance for those who have low 1st or high 2nd round draft pick on the availability of Judkins. I'm in the same boat as Browns owner Haslam on being "cautiously optimistic". I could imagine Judkins' agent is in sleepless nights on negotiation with Browns for contract guaranteed portion now that his client in legal limbo.

I'm not going to pigeonhole myself to RB at the 1.12, but I could really use one at that spot. I had it Kaleb Johnson and then not knowing what to do do between Old Man Harvey and Judkins if that was a decision. After this weekend, I think Johnson and Harvey need to be trading places in my pecking order. So now it's a question of Johnson vs Judkins and I still think I'm leaning Judkins if he's available at that spot. Then again, maybe we're talking about Judkins looking like a slow, plodding, grinder if he's actually in camp. To be honest, Harvey vs Judkins is still debate for me in its own right factoring in age.

If I'm getting burned, it feels like it's more likely to happen by passing on one the WR or TE options at that spot.

Went at 1.07 in a RB heavy league rookie draft on Sunday. Guy who took him is well aware of his situation. Sampson went 2.06.

Trying to move up from 2.05 to get him in the late first, early second.

Right now offering 3.12 and 2.05 with no takers yet, but several interested parties.

I already have Gibbs/Pollard/Walker/Braelon rostered...so don't need him this year.

Where is he falling in PPR redraft leagues? He's available in the 11th round...I'm tempted but man if he doesn't play I'm missing out on other good players here...I get no risk it no biscuit but can anyone share where they have seen him fall in redraft leagues?

^^^That's too much of a Judkins fade for me. Loveland/Burden/Judkins would be the decision at 1.12, and I think I'm taking the maligned RB. Can clean up one of the other two or Skattebo at #15.

For me, it's the roster spot that hurts the most in re-draft. Every league is going to be different though for how much that matters.

He fell to 2.03 in a 16 team Rookie Draft,

Went at 1.07 in a RB heavy league rookie draft on Sunday.
Meanwhile I got a league last night where I had taken Judkins at 1.08 where someone posted they'd give up their 2026 first for a young RB. I had to actually give it a good long thought but based on my teams roster, which is super deep at RB, I decided to offer Judkins for his 26 first.

He quickly rejected it and commented he's not be sure if he'd give a 2026 second.

Same guy took Skatteboo at 1.10 when Egbuka and Warren were on the board(FFPC, 1.5 TEP) and last year took Estime at 2.2 but whatevers....

Sources: #Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins will not face any formal charges, as prosecutors have declined to move forward with the case. This clears the way for him to return to the team, and I’m told that should likely happen in the near future.

To be clear, this does NOT necessarily mean the league won't take action.

There's more evidence pointing towards she's making it up then he did it... which is why I kept saying let the system do its thing 1st before ending his career.

Just noticed someone got Judkins at pick 244 in a NFFC cutline that is insane that teams kept passing that long we are talking 25th round.

Even if he never played a snap you should have drafted him way sooner and cut him.

Rookie draft starting today … up to pick 5 in the first round and no hint of Judkins yet.

I’m sitting on 1.12, 2.1, 2.3, 2.4, 2.7 and trying to determine where the reward outweighs the risk.

I should also add I have Derrius Guice PTSD on this particular team.

I wouldn't take him at 1.12, but would consider it at 2.1 ;)
Well if he has both that is one and the same.
I think that was :sarcasm:thus the wink.
I assumed it was when I replied. lol

Honestly, if there is evidence suggesting she made this up... then she better get hit with some charges

Brian Banks, a high school football star, was falsely accused of rape and kidnapping, leading to his wrongful conviction and imprisonment. He maintained his innocence throughout, and his conviction was eventually overturned after his accuser confessed to fabricating the story.

Here's a more detailed look at the case:
  • The Accusation:
In 2002, while a high school junior with a scholarship offer to USC, Banks was accused of rape and kidnapping by a classmate, Wanetta Gibson.

  • The Plea Deal:
Facing a lengthy prison sentence, Banks accepted a plea deal, which resulted in him serving five years in prison and five years on parole.

Between this and the below....

Details: The decision was based on several factors including late reporting of the alleged incident to police, no surveillance video, and no independent witnesses. The State Attorney says there were videos seen during the same timeframe that didn't show the victim with injuries.

.....I would imagine it would be hard for the NFL to do anything. Although the NFL rarely makes sense from decision to decision.

Maybe double secret probation?

The NFL, Cleveland Browns and everyone that grab a pitchfork and was ready to bury him owes an apology

Whether he's the victim or not, may this be the very last time anything like this shows up in his life.

What are the chances they can/will get a deal done quickly and get him some meaningful preseason reps?

Hopefully the Browns and his agent have been in discussion of what some possible options would be given various legal outcomes. I am sure the Browns are still going to want some extra financial protections here that they would have not expected 2 months ago but they also I am sure want Judkins on the field ASAP. Hopefully they get it resolved and him signed this weekend.
