idk manSounds like Etienne is going to be the weaker part of the RBBC, but may have to start him over a hobbled/limited Swift.![]()
Yeah - just gonna roll the dice with Swift. I’ve been burned before when the “experts” say limited snap count and they play a full boat.idk manSounds like Etienne is going to be the weaker part of the RBBC, but may have to start him over a hobbled/limited Swift.![]()

“Here, just take him”Has anyone seen ETN trades? What did they look like?
Some hope for us disenchanted Etienne owners, but have to see it to believe it.

Travis Etienne led all RB’s in yards after contact per attempt in WK1 and was two would be TD’s from a massive day
Roller coaster of a debut but fantasy managers should be patient the dudes clearly got juice
Stay the course

Travis Etienne dropping a touchdown in his first career game is just going to make the eventual D'Andre Swift-esque production that much sweeter
Travis Etienne rushed 13 times for 45 yards in the Jaguars' Week 3 win over the Chargers, adding three catches for 30 yards.
Nearly a third of Etienne's touches came on the final drive when the team was using him to put the game away. Before that, James Robinson was the team's lead back. The two split the backfield targets at three a piece. Etienne's touch count has risen in each of the past two weeks, but the Jags also won both of those games, giving their backfield more looks as a group. For now, he's an electric committee-back working toward a larger role. That should be good enough for low-end RB3 numbers in Week 4 against the Eagles.

Travis Etienne rushed 10 times for 71 yards in Jacksonville's Week 5 loss to the Texans, adding three catches for 43 yards on five targets.
One of Etienne's incompletions was initially ruled a catch-and-fumble, so he lucked out there. Etienne had 81 of his 114 before halftime and mainly cooked on outside runs. The Texans appeared to be changing out linebackers throughout the first three quarters and finally found a combination that worked. The Jaguars appear to have gone full-on RB-by-committee over the last few weeks, which says a lot about Etienne's talent but doesn't do a lot of good for his chances of having fantasy games like this. He'll be on the FLEX line for Week 6 against the Colts.

Also helps that Robinson hasn't performed that well of late and that much of his JR's fantasy success thus far has come on a couple of long runs.114 yds, 3 catches on top, improving
I own them both in different leagues. Etienne will have opportunities to showcase his talents. Robinson was red hot, now lukewarm. Be interesting to watch this potential 50/50 split or so moving forward. Who's the guy to own? Right now today, MoP and zamboni? Also helps that Robinson hasn't performed that well of late and that much of his JR's fantasy success thus far has come on a couple of long runs.114 yds, 3 catches on top, improving
Hard to say, as Pederson seems to remain an RBBC guy and I think their respective usage is going to be game script dependent. They both bring different skills to the table, but I'd rather gamble on the higher ceiling/lower floor of Etienne.I own them both in different leagues. Fair enough. I'm sensing Etienne is going to get plenty of opportunities, and has plenty of talent. Robinson perhaps decent floor and lower ceiling, kinda opposite of what you say about ETN. Both will likely be in lineups somewhere especially with bye weeks starting up. Both will remain on my teams and we'll just have to see what kind of a team JAX is. RBBC used to be a terrible term. Not so much anymore as most teams are like this. Only a few bruisers like Saquon, Henry, and CMC to name a few. Chubb still has Hunt, etc. It's how the teams use these players or spell them that really matters. Riding the hot hand or scripted per series, etc.Hard to say, as Pederson seems to remain an RBBC guy and I think their respective usage is going to be game script dependent. It always rolls back and forth, but it seems like Etienne is starting to gain some momentum. Is it sustainable is the question. Just over a quarter of the season thru, we are still asking about a RBBC here and which one to have.I own them both in different leagues. Etienne will have opportunities to showcase his talents. Agreed - as an Etienne owner, I'm just glad we're having this conversation after week 5. About 3-4 weeks ago, it looked pretty ominous after Robinson's unexpected hot start. It always rolls back and forth, but it seems like Etienne is starting to gain some momentum. #Jaguars running back Travis Etienne played his best game since being drafted in the first round in 2021.
10 runs, 71 yards, 3 catches, 43 yards. Total AP yards: 114
Have to keep feeding him. He had just 3 rushes in the second half, 2 receptions in 2nd half late:
He’s fun to watch - very explosive. Not sure why he isn’t used more because that offense has been sputtering.Surprised there’s no talk here. Second week in a row he’s made multiple explosive plays. For reasons that can not be explained, the Jags seem to feature him in the first quarter and then despite him flipping the field multiple times, they forget to use him the rest of the game.
He’s averaging 5.6 ypc and 12.0 ypr
Today was a 108 yards on 12 touches. They need to be getting him 15-18 imo.
Makes no sense. He’s clearly their most explosive offensive weapon. He’s not perfect. His hands are still a work in progress and he sometimes misses the hole but his 0-60 is startling. Give him an inch and he’ll take 20 yards. He’s fun to watch - very explosive. Not sure why he isn’t used more because that offense has been sputtering.
Travis Etienne had ten rushes for 86 yards in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to the Colts, adding two catches for 20 yards.
Etienne was once again the more effective Jacksonville back. James Robinson took 12 carries for 54 yards and saw one target on the day. Etienne has ripped off a handful of impressive runs over the past two weeks. He's been efficient over that span, totaling 157 yards on a mere 20 carries (7.85 yards per carry). He is undoubtedly the team's best running back option. Etienne drafters are hoping head coach Doug Pederson agrees sooner rather than later. Etienne will be an upside RB2 play in Week 7 against the Giants, one of the NFL's worst rush defenses.

% of carries stuffed for no gain or a loss (PFF):
Travis Etienne: 5.6% - tied for 9th lowest rate
James Robinson: 17.3% - last among 39 qualified RBs
I'm sure the coaching staff sees this as well. Stats like this could be the reason ETN's snap share has been climbing.Ian Hartitz @Ihartitz

Interesting - you'd think it would be the complete opposite with Etienne being more of a home run hitter and Robinson traditionally being more of a steady, fall forward guy.Ian Hartitz @Ihartitz

It is until you remember one guy is an UDFA less than 12 months removed from the worst injury a skill player can suffer and the other was a 1st round pick and the ACC all time leader in yards and TDs.Interesting - you'd think it would be the complete opposite with Etienne being more of a home run hitter and Robinson traditionally being more of a steady, fall forward guy.
Redzone announcer stating he got the “OCTOPUS”We did it![]()
Sucks too because he was potentially on his way in for another score. I’m not worried about him losing touches though. He has to take better care of the ball, it’s been a problem for him this season but the offense needs his explosiveness. James Robinson doesn’t even have a touch yet. Hasty has 1 carry. ETN is average 7 yards per carry. Not so fast - he did it. Fumbled in the end zone and he’ll be benched I’m sure
True although wouldn’t surprise me if Robinson got most of the work in the 2nd half to make Etienne think about it.Sucks too because he was potentially on his way in for another score. the nfl true 3 outcomes; home run, walk or strike out. chunk play, fumble or drop.He literally only makes big plays, fumbles, or drops every time I see them play lol.
Watched the whole game - Robinson did have a handful of snaps, including at the goal line for Trevor’s sneak TD, but he was very much out of the game plan. Whether this is the way going forward still remains to be seen - Pederson does mix things up.Not even one touch for Robinson is shocking. Is he on the trade block? I saw he had a target in the passing game so he was out there at some point.
Let’s tap the breaks - Dougie may have been playing the matchup. Etienne is obviously going to be very much a key cog, but I wouldn’t bury Robinson just yetYeah, this is as complete a takeover as you’ll ever see. Etienne is going to be a borderline RB1 the rest of the way.
What this guy saidRedraft Connor, dynasty ETN.Who Wins This Trade
James Connor Travis Etienne >>>>> <<<<<
I must have missed that because I would have preferred your side. I am a true believer.I traded Conner (16.50 pts) after WK1 straight up for ETN (8.50 pts.) Everyone I asked (100%) on this board and Reddit said I lost the trade.
Lot of games left, but so far so good. Besides feeling like the Cards offense was broke without Hopkins, Conner’s injury history - 18 games missed in 6 years, has always missed at least 2 G - I’m a big believer in talent.

Probably never be a bell cow but really finding his groove. 6.10 YPC on the year, 3 straight games over 100 YFS, finally scored a TD today.
