RB TreVeyon Henderson, NE (8 Viewers)

He’s their best rb so it would be stupid of the coaches to not have I’m get at least half the rb touches
OC McDaniels scares me.

He shouldn't...at no point in his tenure with the Pats has an offensive weapon been under-utilized by McDaniels...they have had many RBBC's and sometimes some form of WRBC but at no point was there a player who was getting less touches than he should have if they were legit (and why some of the "analytics" I see to knock Henderson are just not reality to me because they don't take this into account) ...this will be some form of RBBC (as it should be) but if Henderson is the dynamic player it looks like he will be he will be used more than enough to be a big time fantasy option...he will not be used like Danny Woodhead if he is the real deal.

Curious where you guys took Henderson in your drafts. I took him 4th round in a 12 team and have some regret passing over some other proven RB's, especially Kamara. Pollard, Hall, and Monty went in round 5.

Where did you guys take Henderson and what RB's were still on the board?
I also took him in the fourth over the RBs you mentioned. I draft for ceiling, and Henderson has a much higher ceiling than any of those guys. The downside is his floor might be a little lower, especially early in the season.

I essentially took him in rnd 4 (though it was rnd 1 for us), as the league is a keep 3 league...

had pick 12 of a 12 team league (as prior champ - obviously)... Took him over Conner, Kamara, Swift, Pollard, Harvey... Zero hesitation on that

Will he still return kicks?
I'm wondering this as well. My work league scoring is wack: 1 pt per 10 return yards. Guys like Turpin and Marvin Mims were WR2's last year smh. This was a small part of why I took Henderson in the 4th, by small chance he does return kicks.

Two words... James White
White was a plodder, this guy is electric ..
True but he was quite effective receiver especially during screen-pass. And he was the *GUY* during Patriots' epic comeback vs. Falcons in the Super Bowl. So, couple with McDaniels and Henderson's talent, the upside is real.

I hope he does, because he bust a couple for a score during the season. I think they want the ball in his hands as much as possible, especially in games they are behind.

TreVeyon Henderson rushed five times for 27 yards in the Patriots’ Week 1 loss to the Raiders, adding six receptions for 24 yards.

Henderson was out-snapped (41-24) and out-carried (7-5) by Rhamondre Stevenson, though he did out-touch and out-gain his veteran backfield mate. As you might surmise from Henderson’s mediocre box score, neither back was overly productive. Henderson’s passing-game usage was not creative, with Drake Maye involving him through the air via simple checkdowns. We would expect better from OC Josh McDaniels going forward in that department. Stevenson isn’t going away as a nuisance, but it appears that’s all he is at this point. New England is visiting Miami for Week 2.

It seemed to me the Raiders game-planned for him...whenever he was in space it felt like the Raiders didn't give him much space...they also did a very good job tackling him.

Stevenson had zero burst and looks washed. Only a matter of time before Henderson takes over. That’s if the Patriots want to win.

Better days ahead. He's clearly the best option in his backfield.
Even splitting carries and the Patriots not running the ball, he’s going to finish as a back-end RB2 in PPR. He’s definitely more of an RB3 in 1/2 and standard for the time being.

Perhaps he’s just not that good? I was never that impressed when I saw him play Michigan but figured it was just some bias but now I don’t know.

R Stevenson just made it clear Today, the starting rb job is his. He looks pretty good out there too.

Stevenson looked light years better than last week...Henderson had a zip in the preseason that I am not seeing right now...it is like he is thinking too much...he had three penalties as well (one was declined)...the Pats need Henderson to step-up but if Stevenson can continue playing like he did today he will be the lead dog.

Last week the opposite. Glad I only have one week where I fell for Treyvon hype…so far anyway.
Stevenson was the starting RB last week too, 65% snap share.
And people were saying Henderson should have more touches this week and be much bigger part of the offense after last weeks loss. Today just confirmed He's staying out as the starter, until or if his fumbles start happening again.

We bought the hype and we were wrong. Not the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last time. Congratulations to all the RS owners.
I dont own any shares of Henderson, and there is no doubt that a lot of "fantasy experts" were hyping him up. My fantasy research this season was watching high stakes drafts on youtube and evaluating high stakes ADPs. Henderson was going as high as the late second/early 3rd in high stakes leagues. However, I found that the drafting patterns for a lot of experts/high stakes leagues are different than a lot of home leagues. A lot of the fantasy experts play in dozens/hundreds of teams where there is no management or trades. A lot of them are best ball format. Also, a lot of the leagues that the fantasy experts play in have progressives--where the top two teams from each little league enters a tournament from like weeks 13-16 to where the highest scoring teams in those weeks win a massive prize. I think this is why a lot of fantasy experts "hype" up guys--as to them--they would rather own players that have massive upside to be big contributors towards the latter half of the season. I think Henderson will be a really solid fantasy asset at some point this season. I think the fantasy hype maybe just took attention away from the fact that Rhamondre was clearly going to play some sort of role in the running game to start the season. The question was how much of a role, and how soon Henderson would cut into that role. I don't think people were wrong for drafting him, and I think that there is plenty of season left for him to return a lot of value to those who drafted him.

You are spot on when you talk about how these guys just draft differently. It doesn't translate to your home league with twelve dudes. Never has. And when they get behind a guy it's never due to a particular situation. They roster the guy over forty or fifty times in a crapton of different leagues.

There are other differences, but I'm a bit busy and can't really go into them, but I wanted to acknowledge this as very true.

TreVeyon Henderson rushed three times for 10 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 loss to the Dolphins, adding two receptions for 30 yards.

Henderson was second in the Patriots backfield for snaps and third in touches against the Dolphins. He shared the backfield with one of Rhamondre Stevenson or Antonio Gibson on several plays and continued to get utility on passing downs. Henderson took a wheel route for 15 yards and another screen pass for 15 yards. He was also called for a pair of holding penalties as Mike Vrabel decided to trust the veterans more against a weak Dolphins defense. Fantasy managers should exercise patience with Henderson, but he will be in the RB3 range against the Steelers in Week 3.

His time is coming later in the year, but not now. Has to earn more trust of the staff right now.
