I may need to bump him up. My first thought was that he's going to have a hard time getting the 1A treatment because Stevenson has never seemed to be a liability. Rhamondre is tough to get on the ground, grinds out tough yardage and seems to have good skill in the passing game for a guy of his size. But Henderson might really be the 1A in an ascending offense. FWIW, Ourlads already has him atop the depth chart. Early 2nd round draft capital seems like that's the move.
The thing that's a little challenging is this: I don't know that they're going to split this up on roles. The only role that seems more of a foregone conclusion is short yardage being much more of Stevenson bias. I do think there's a team-strategic advantage in not having the RB be a tell on whether or not the play is a running play vs a passing play. I can easily see either one being in there on 3rd and long and taking a dumpoff for a first down. Those have been good plays for Stevenson. Henderson will be more likely to house those.
Waldman : "Henderson is one of the most explosive scat backs in this class. He's an electric runner who does his best work in space, but if the play design between the tackles unfolds as drawn up, Henderson can win there too." Has a Swift-Mckinnon comp for him.
Beast: "Overall, Henderson isn't a proven bellcow between the tackles, but his bursts of speed make him a home-run threat and coaches can trust him to execute without the football. His versatile skill set will be an immediate upgrade to an NFL backfield."
It might end up being a drive by drive thing to keep Henderson fresh. That doesn't seem like a Josh McDaniels thing.
Long story short, I might have to bump him up. Other than having good WRs, this offense would seem to be on the upswing with a chance for lots of RB touches and more of a middle of the pack overall scoring output. Especially in PPR, he could end up being a back end RB1 for a good while.
I'm having a hard time splitting between Judkins, Johnson and Henderson for rookie draft rankings..
