RB TreVeyon Henderson, NE (1 Viewer)

Went 2.03 in a NFFC online championship stream in progress to the all rookie team drafter

I wasn't impressed with Hampton's clips when I took a look at him. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I'll own up to it, but I got a Donald Brown vibe. A lot of combine athleticism that doesn't translate into anything too extraordinary on the field. As pedestrian as Najee has looked in the NFL, he's a Harbaugh type of back and I'd have some concern that he's going to be a pest in this situation. That speaks to my lack of faith in Hampton because Najee is the definition of mediocre. We have enough proof by now.

I think Henderson had more of a "wow" factor to his clips in college than Hampton. The situation is murky, but I like the risk/reward proposition if you can snare him as your RB2 in a PPR league. There's nice upside there. If he flops, you won't be totally dead because you can afford to miss on your RB2 if you hit on other picks.

The good news/bad news is that he has looked legit in the preseason. It's good news because that's what you want to see if you are a believer, but it's bad news because the secret is out. You might not be able to get him for cheap. I was targeting him in my redraft league, and got sniped by half a round. If the draft had happened a few weeks earlier, I think I would've been able to sneak him onto the roster.

I'm not as good or methodical as you are, but I've also been watching football seriously for a decade and have studied athleticism and athletic movements since I've been a kid. I don't like Hampton that much either. I'm just not impressed. I might be missing it (I missed it with Johnathan Taylor who got to the pros and blew me away), but I'm not seeing it right now. I don't hate him. At all. It's just that Henderson has always looked better to me. I was just worried about workload.
It the magical beauty of this thing we do. Different people with different opinions. I watched Hampton clips and just got an Eddie George Lite vibe. Imo
Same... a Tarheel here, full disclosure (but rarely advocate for any of our players outside of Maye... last skill player I remotely liked was Giovani Bernard and even he was just ok). Hampton looked like the prototype bell cow back at UNC to me. Doesn't have blazing speed, but I like everything else about his profile.

And I happily picked Henderson at #3.

I held my nose and picked Javonte Williams when he came out and I hated doing it, and I really should have listened to myself. I wound up trading him while he was still healthy for a nice return, but I never believed in that linebacker-turned-running back. I just wasn't buying in.
Was reading some of your insights on Braelon Allen today...also a LB turned RB at Wisconsin. FWIW, I like both backs (and Allen and Hall too).

Cool. I hope you read early in that thread. If you only read the last page, you wouldn't know my opinion of Allen. I really liked him last year. I thought he was great for the Jets run game and tried to acquire him in dynasty. I was rebuffed because the person who held him had absolutely zero at running back and I wasn't paying a first-round pick for him. Starts on Page 3.

Anyone Hedge Hendo by grabbing R. Stevenson as well? He was so cheap 10-12th round in some cases of home leagues.

I grabbed Stevenson as a cheap RB1 but, I have seen the overblown Rookie RB before- not saying that is the case but I'm open to it. I passed on Hampton and Hendo despite the strong convictions I heard from a lot of folks that I listen to. I just didn't like the cost and it not being a more sure thing.

Yes, everywhere I have Hendo I also have Stevenson.

Unless it's a Gibbs - Montgomery situation, which it could be hence why I've made the move, Stevenson will be the first player I drop for a waiver replacement.

I never had a chance in the one league i have Henderson. Someone took Stevenson way out of adp. I think think is was 7th or 8th round.

CBS has RS ahead on the depth chart. Is this really accurate?

Henderson was actually third on the depth chart behind Gibson. You can wipe your butt with the depth charts they're releasing. That isn't to say he's beaten Rhamondre out for the job. I'm not saying that at all. But to think this guy won't be involved in a significant way seems unbelievable.

Agree. Starting with "confidence"

I think it's call confidence. :shades:

Whoa there quick draw McGraw! I never said start the guy. I was just saying that those depth charts aren't worth the paper they're printed on for true accuracy. I actually doubt Rhamondre doesn't start. I think he'll touch the ball a bunch. But I have a hard time believing that the Patriots aren't going to involve their phenom. That would be something McDaniels has done before, but it would also be not very smart.

I think Henderson is RB2 of this class.

My RB1 in a 12-team PPR league.

I like him much more as a RB2, or even more optimally as a flex, but sometimes the draft board doesn't cooperate. I'm still pumped to have him and think he will end up with strong RB2 numbers, with a handful of RB1 weeks.

Curious where you guys took Henderson in your drafts. I took him 4th round in a 12 team and have some regret passing over some other proven RB's, especially Kamara. Pollard, Hall, and Monty went in round 5.

Where did you guys take Henderson and what RB's were still on the board?

Mid 5th round in a 12-teamer. Took Monty in the 6th. The RBs between them: A Jones, Swift, Conner, Pollard, Pacheco.

I got him a bunch in dynasty (usually 1.05 or 1.06) but in redraft I got him in one league at pick 5.07 (55 overall). He was the 21st RB taken. Best available RBs at that point were RJ Harvey, D'Andre Swift, Isiah Pacheco, Aaron Jones Sr., Jaylen Warren, Kaleb Johnson...

Henderson should cause a lot of fits for the Raiders LBs in coverage. Pratt would be the best coverage LB with Adams maybe being next? I could see Chinn covering him from a hybrid LB/Nickel position.

Close to the same here. Got him at 1.4 in my dynasty and then at 5.1 in my redraft after going Chase, Nabers, Bowers and McMillan. Not excited that he is my RB1 but I followed that with Swift, Tracy and Crosky-Merritt the next three rounds.
