RB Zach Charbonnet, SEA (1 Viewer)

Coming out party today. Hard to put him back in the bottle after this.
lol. Here they come. Walker is easily better.

Walker is not in any danger.
Don't own Charbonnet this year. I took him as Walkers handcuff last year, but not this year because i didn't need him last year. I'm a huge Walker fan, but that decision has already cost me 2 games this year. Zach looks MUCH better this year, and yesterday he was hitting the holes with authority in a way that Walker, who likes to jump cut or bounce outside, doesn't. Props to Zach on his improvement.
Walker also looked better. Perhaps coaching and line have something to do with that?

First two weeks for Charbs

8 carries for 12 yards
14 carries for 38 yards
Left out the TDs. And catches. Hmm..

Guessing you might be a Walker owner, b/c right now, in PPR Charbs is RB9.

And yes I have shares of him.

And yes I started him the past 2 weeks.
I am a Walker owner. And a Charbs owner. Because that's what good owners do.......handcuff.

I also started Charbs both weeks.

Week 1 for Walker was 20 carries for 103 yards and a TD. He also had TD #2 called back due to a penalty.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have Charbs for if/when Walker doesn't play.
But Walker is the superior RB. He's one of the best in the NFL when healthy.

Dude got the opportunity today and absolutely crushed it. It’s probably not a coincidence that it was one of the best Seattle offensive performances of the year. It will be interesting to see if they go back to a gimpy Walker or ride the hot hand. I would say it should be obvious, but there’s a whole thread devoted to dumb things coaches do, so nothing would surprise me.

This is the proper take.

When both are healthy, Charbs eats into Walker's touches because the coaches like to use him in the RZ and hurry up. When one or the other is hurt, as was the case this week, and the healthy guy gets almost all the touches? Of course there's likely to be an increased output.

With Walker out, Charbs didn't have Charbs eating into his touches (especially the premium ones) and you get what we got today (which, as a Charbs owner pretty much everywhere, was rad as hell). But is anyone really gonna argue if Walker got the same 29 touches he wouldn't have produced?

Brady Henderson
Per ESPN Research, Zach Charbonnet had 91 rushing yards after contact vs. Arizona, the most by a player in a game this season.

Charbonnet finished with 134 rushing yards and two TDs on 22 carries. He added 59 receiving yards for the most productive game of his two-year career.

Next Gen Stats
Zach Charbonnet recorded 22 carries for a career-high 134 yards and 2 TDs on the ground, generating +41 rushing yards over expected, the most by a Seahawks RB over the last two seasons.

🔹 Missed Tackles Forced: 9
🔹 Yards After Missed Tackles: 108

He looked really good and probably bounced me out of the playoffs in one league unless Tee goes nuts tomorrow night.

As a KW dynasty owner who doesn’t roster Charbs, not ideal.

Well read a Sunday morning FBG email update that Walker was out and grabbed him in two leagues and whamo. Had a must win game to get a playoff berth.

The KW3 out (my team subbed in E. Moore) vs Charbs team in a must win game for the playoffs, this was the difference and likely ended my season.

I will. At least the version of Walker (injured?) we have been seeing play for the last month or so. Why am I so confident? Because Walker faced this same Arizona team just two weeks ago and averaged 2.56 yards/carry while Charbs had 6.0 yards/carry today. Call it fresh legs or whatever, but Charbs looked explosive today in a way that Walker hasn't looked for a good while. I agree with you that if both were 100% healthy, there probably isn't much difference. But I don't think Walker has been 100% for some time. I don't know exactly what his health issue is, but unless he gets magically 100% healthy in the next week, I think Seattle would be foolish to roll him out there at the expense of what we saw today.

Charbs > K9? :stirspot:
I don't know if I'd go that far quite yet, but as a K9 redraft owner with a playoff game next week, I'm definitely thinking of benching him even if he's back.

It doesn't help that Walker has been struggling a bit the last few weeks independent of today's big Charbs game.
He’s probably going to be on the bench for me from here on out. It helps that I do have a bye next week in the one league I have Walker.

But I already had him on the bench this week and Adams in even before he was announced out. Just didn’t like the vibes, plus it’s not like he’s been must-start lately anyway.

TBH, I'm just messing around, and I like K9's skillset better. Charbs did look great today if I'm being honest, and KWIII disappears far too often. I mentioned this earlier in the thread and got attacked for it, but it's true. KWIII will lose you as many weeks as he wins you. On a team with great consistency and depth, he's wonderful to own. Paired with a bunch of low floor high ceiling players, you're in a world of hurt. Charbs playing like this further muddies the situation for KWIII. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Seahawks let him walk after 2025, and I wasn't kidding when I said Baltimore or LAC could be his final destination.

I'm not sure how you tell Charbs "Nice game. Go have a seat." after this. Not saying that won't happen but it would be hard to process as fans.

To be fair, it's not like he was sitting on the bench all season. He was getting around 40% of the snaps already when both guys were healthy and looked great in K9's absence week 3 against the Dolphins. Now, does another day like today make it easier to further lighten the load of a guy that always seemed to be dinged? Maybe, but KWIII has looked absolutely special at times. You can't really put that toothpaste back in the tube either. Still, Charbs has looked as good, and in some cases better than advertised. Do they take more of a hot hand approach after today? Again, maybe? Great problem for Seattle to have. Not so much for fantasy owners.

I think they rest KW until he's 100% or until Charbonet looks bad.
Dude has some serious durability issues. Not ideal when you have a young back behind you that has showed really well in your absence all season. Charbs was already cutting into Walker’s touches, I suspect those snap shares get even closer to one another going forward.

I am very thankful that the guy in my league with Najee traded me Charbonet for Warren before the deadline a couple weeks ago. Very needed Insurance as a KW owner.

KWIII's role is in trouble i suspect
Don't believe that to be the case.

I think Insein has it right. Walker is obviously banged up. Seattle should take this division.
My guess is Walker sits next week and Charbonnet gets all the work again.

If he produces again next week, it might be a different story.

Dude in my league traded me Charbonnet & J Williams for Kupp, just before the deadline. I declined the trade initially. Then, this week I matched up with him. I feel sorry for him. He's a good dude.

I am dumbfounded there were Walker owners out there who did not have Charbonnet as a handcuff.

To me, the Seattle situation is one I target every year.
A true #1 RB who gets the majority of the work AND has a handcuff who can immediately sub in and produce similar numbers.

Those situations are rare these days.
The only other two I can equate would be:
Kyren and Corum
Bijan and Tyler

Charbs fantasy points yesterday outproduced KW last 3 games combined (by 5 points), KW had 54 touches in those 3 games. So inefficient

I traded Flowers for Walker very early in the season in dynasty and immediately tried to trade a different owner for Charbonnet. He wanted a 1st so I told him to kick rocks. At the time I thought I was trading for an elite RB1 in Walker. He had a nice 4-week stretch but other than that he’s been extremely underwhelming, and Charbs has shown well in every game he’s missed.

Only hope this point is he gets moved at some point, because I don’t think it’s happening in Seattle. It doesn’t help that he’s constantly dinged up.

That's a tough thing for me to say to Walker owners. I do have them in both in two dynasty leagues but I was not willing to pay what Charbs cost in the rookie draft, which was typically in the pick 8-10 type range. I was fortunate enough in the two leagues I have Walker that the same guy who drafted Charbs is in both of my leagues and he grew weary in a hurry and I was able to get him cheap but when most people are dropping firsts on him it's not always so easy to get people to give him up so cheaply.

None of my redraft leagues allow trades, not always easy to target a guy at a decent ADP and insure you get him. Was a goal of mine to get both when I took Walker, did some, not all.

I was thinking of both him and Breece Hall as potentially being trade candidates this off-season since both will enter last years of their contract, will be looking for extensions and both have quality RB(s) behind them. I concluded neither was likely to happen since the draft is crazy deep at RB, will be to hard to get any decent return.

I just hope neither signs an extension.

In redraft Charbonnet was a must draft if you took Walker.

It’s not always that simple. It’s not like Charbonnet was some 15th round dart throw pick. And do you really want to overdraft a handcuff and reach on them two rounds before it’s necessary? Ask the Bijan owners how that feels now with Allgeier.

It's a difference of opinion. I value handcuffs like Charbonnet more than you. That's ok.
I wonder how many owners who had that mentality lost this weekend. I didn't.

If Bijan were to get hurt, they probably would be feeling pretty good. Agree?

Yea I screwed that up. Got cute thinking he'd last 1 more round. Thankfully traded for him before the deadline.

What was up with the lack of carries? This Seahawks team abandons the run like nobody else and that would make sense if they actually had an elite qb

And they had the backup in the game. Charbonet scored to make it 23-13 with 11:16 to go. Their defense gets a stop and gets the ball back with 10:08 to go. First play they throw to Charbonet and it's incomplete. He never touched the ball again. They throw with Sam Howell the rest of the game and he goes 1-4 for 5 yards taking a sack and throwing an interception. They had plenty of time.
