I don't feel ungrateful.
I figured that would be it. Next week I'll try that. Thanks to all that suggested it.press and hold the center button on your remote.I hate not having the previoius button streaming YouTube TV.
I sure they have an equivalent. Try whichever button you use for Enter. No OK button on an apple remote.Yup, that works. Hold OK for a few seconds and it will go back and forth between two stations you choose. For real? Or does that rank up there with press any key to continue? LOL. BTW, there isn't an OK button on Apple remote.Hold the "OK" button a couple seconds.I hate not having the previoius button streaming YouTube TV.
My Roku remote it's just holding the okay button.I'm relying on memory, but I think on my Roku I can arrow down three times and hit okay to toggle to previous channel. Sometimes I don't remember things well.
Is there a SELECT button? If so try that or get a firestick. No OK button on an apple remote.Yup, that works. Center button (no label) on the remote is what to try. I assume hold down for a few seconds. I'll give it a try.Is there a SELECT button? I think redzone is amazing and I can’t imagine walking the line that some seem to think is reasonable! Absolutely no errors in 7 hours, you goof balls!! Oh no, I saw part of a commercial, quick start complaining!
Unfortunately redzone needs volume, especially when there's some sort of split screen. As mentioned above, my TV isn't that great. Tried closed captions, but you can't see any plays on the near side of the field. And normal games still need a play-by-play of some sort, even if it's just a small scroll at the bottom of the screen at the end of every play listing the key information.I feel like this is a difference in ideology.I love RedZone and I think Hanson is fantastic. Sure he makes mistakes navigating game action non stop for 7 hours.
But I also remember when the first time I'd see game highlights was halftime of the MONDAY night game. LOL.
I would like to watch a game without color commentary - just tell me who and where, let me make my own opinion as to if the 5th string left tackle has just been waiting to prove himself. Others like what color commentators add to the broadcast, insight into the players and plays. Hanson is a color commentator to me. He tries to play-by-play, but he's too interested in being a fan to give the stats.
Sure. But fortunately, both types can be easily satisfied. The type that doesn't like commentary can simply mute the sound. Everyone wins.
Do you think the Red Zone experience is the same as it always was (or, say five years ago), or do you think it's better?Mentioned previously, it's the contant distraction of multiple boxes - what I hear and what I see are constantly out of alignment.
Interesting. Thanks. It's always good to hear different takes. But I feel as informed as ever. Maybe more.

Seems the same to me
No one is claiming it's the end of the world.Thoughts and prayers to everyone who had to see a couple half commercials yesterday
That is missing the point entirely. The NFL literally advertises the RZ as 7 hours of commercial free football.Thoughts and prayers to everyone who had to see a couple half commercials yesterday
Better than commercials IMO.Just wait till we have advertising logos on NFL Game day jerseys...
I don't even mind commercials - it's who we are. It's the subpar production that bothers me.No one is claiming it's the end of the world.Thoughts and prayers to everyone who had to see a couple half commercials yesterday
The product I paid for is no commercials. It had commercials. So I have a complaint about the product. It's the same as if you get a box from Amazon that's beaten up but otherwise okay and you grouching to people you know about it.
I am someone who doesn't really mind commercials at all generally, but something about that I really hate. Not sure why it seems so bad to me, there are ads all over the stadium already anyway. Hope it never happens but likely it will.Just wait till we have advertising logos on NFL Game day jerseys...

It's terrible. The problem is the NFL knows very few people who love RedZone will walk away because of this. It's only going to get worse. You can expect advertising on jerseys, CGI'd into the field, imbedded into the crawl etc."Seven and half hours of commercial-free football starts NOWWWWWWW... with a couple of commercials that we'll throw in and have the audio of those take precedence over the game action that you already paid extra for."
So the Fan Dual ads that no one was bothered by before are still OK?Yeah there were ads from Verizon, Visa, and Gatorade. Lots of people online are complaining about it. I didn’t mind the banner ads they showed once in a while but when they interrupt with a picture-in-picture commercial with audio, that’s against their whole “7 hours of commercial-free football” mantra. The "split" takes up a third of the screen and they cut the volume from the game to play the ad.The split screen one they had with Lamar was the split in game screen. The Verizon ad they showed early on is part of RedZone and not the local broadcast since they are a major sponsor of the channelThats the game feed. Normally they switch away when they do that but I guess no other games were live at that point.So... Redzone just has ads now?
Two commercials that cut the volume out of the game, which takes up a third of the screen.
That's no longer commercial free.
Celebrity long snappers, what do you think? It's terrible. The problem is the NFL knows very few people who love RedZone will walk away because of this. It's only going to get worse. To me the worst is commercials because they don't level their audio. Most broadcasts make painstaking effort to level audio appropriate to the situation. Commercials just turn the level to 11 and blast away. It's horribly jarring.
As technology improves they will eventually be able to offer more individually customized viewing experiences. For example, I despise the crawl. Your eye tracks it constantly and you can't train your eyes to ignore it entirely. I hate it with a capital H (and infinity exclamation points). I used to blue tape a piece of cardboard across the bottom of my TV so I could just watch a game without distractions. Then I got married so...
So NFL, if you're listening, and I know you are, I will pay you money to be able to remove the crawl from my viewing experience. TIA.

Correct. The apology was for saying it was commercial free. He was very clear about that.I’m less bothered by a brief bit of commercial from a game feed than by the sponsored bits taking up 20% of the RZ screen for large swaths of time every week. No apologies given for that, I imagine.
But they have had sponsorships of top plays and other stats in the sidebar for years, with Hanson calling out “presented by whoever” and never saw the need to apologize for thatSportico.com has since confirmed through NFL Media that Sunday's split-screen commercial wasn't a gaffe, and that RedZone was—in fact—testing playing ads during the program.
Maybe but they're very ineffective IMO. Commercials generally sound like a maxed out "THX" intro. To me the worst is commercials because they don't level their audio. Doest every TV come w a "leveling" audio setting these days?
dude also flips to another game too fast.. I don't know how many times I watched a guy score and a flag down and he flips..Scott Hanson talks waaaaaay too much.
Can you please just stay quiet for 30 seconds? Can you?
Not that I know of and I’ve had it forever. It’s on now with 2 games goingHas RZ ever ended their broadcast after 1PM games before.. I been a RZ subscriber since 2005 with DTV, and I think there was a week early that they did cause there was like only 2 late games.
Yeah, and today is not the day to criticize them. They have 2 whole games to choose from. Not that I know of and I’ve had it forever.
