Groceries are expensive these days.
It's still much cheaper to make your own healthy (or at least semi-healthy) lunch than to pay $13 - $18 for a crappy unhealthy and poor low quality burger and fries and large Coke. If you want to complain about the costs of eating out, laziness isn't really a valid excuse to eat at McDonald's.
I'm certainly not making any excuses to eat at McDonalds, I was simply passing along an observation. I have an 18 year old and 23 year old that both eat out a majority of their lunches instead of brown bagging it.
I make my lunch every single day. I've ate at my desk > 95% of the time over the past 5+ years. I haven't ate at McDonalds in over 10 years.
Now the fact I don't eat red meat probably plays a part. But I also remember a time when I was younger and in college. I used to eat at Wendy's a good 2-3x per week as I could get a jr bacon cheeseburger, biggie fries and a drink for $3.25. I was on a budget and could have made lunches cheaper, but I was lazy.
