Shark Pool Mock #1 (1 Viewer)

Andy Dufresne

Footballguy
If you didn't participate last year, this is the thread from last year.

For the first mock, I don't care if you pick based on what you think the team will do or what you think they should do. It's just for fun.

I will allow trading but only of picks. Trading of players during the draft almost never, ever happens. So let's not do it here.

So...pick your team. I'm taking the Vikings.

1.2 avail, probably not looking to trade down past 1.6, as far as 1.8 a possibility, though.

STL fan input fine, probably looking at Clowney, Robinson, Matthews or Watkins.

Baltimore.

Like Andy, I will also take advice. Mostly from those 4 guys in the Offical Ravens Thread.

San Fran will be winning more super bowls than Montana did when I'm done and just so it's out there I'm a New England guy but I try stay away from my home team. I'm a huge football fan and I'm hoping a look at all the players in the draft gets me away from just the offense side of the ball. That being said San Fran's Draft room is only open to the fans that can answer my select trivia 49er questions...no googling allowed!!!

I'll take San Fran
That'll be fun for you. 5 picks!
And watch out, he likes to deal. . .
Haha .....Yes I have already sent an offer to bob for his number 2 spot lets dance boys!!
Have to pass, looking to stay in the top 6-8 picks (my guess - so is STL).

So basically bob your saying Cleveland has the only shot of trading because they have a two firsts and you would keep that top 6 -8 pick.

I know Soulfly has no interest in trading up. I even know his likely top two choices. :)

Not looking for RG3-level compensation (no Luck or RG3 in the draft). But not moving down for a Raiders-like lowball of a second to move from 1.3 to 1.12. Something like face value by the chart, I could be a little flexible, but an extra first would have to be involved. Since you are right, STL and CLE only teams that have an extra 2014 first, it would have to be a 2015 first (which is sort of like a 2014 second), and possibly more. This is just an exercise, anyways, but intended to simulate the actual draft, so yes, I'll accept a non-existent at this time, paper 2015 first. We will find out in May if STL is able to trade down for real, how far, and what the compensation will be (Snead has already said he prefers a 2015 first, which would give the Rams two firsts for the the third draft in a row). EVERY RG3 pick has been flipped for more picks so far, I don't see the trend breaking with the final legacy pick from that blockbuster trade.

I have a few specific players in mind, so moving past 1.8 is a deal breaker, and even that involves some risk, 1.6 would be ideal.

The one thing that is artificial about this is, in the real draft, they will have made free agent moves. My assumption is Saffold doesn't re-sign, and not counting on a top tier free agent CB or safety like Verner or Byrd. If released, a safety like Michael Griffin of Malcolm Jenkins, with ties to Fisher and/or Williams, might be more like it.

* I have no problem simply picking at 1.2. Clowney is in play, if HOU doesn't take him! :)

** For perspective, the sum of the 30th, 56th and 61st picks = 1,252, a bit less than HALF the value of the #2 overall (2,600).

I was wondering about that, assumed both first round picks came with STL (and CLE).

I'll sign up for 1.13, too, if allowed.

If not, and you want to have as many in the SP involved and able to participate in the mock as possible, that's cool.

Though I take it we are already making multiple picks per team counting the second and third round. Would I get the second and third round picks?

That is what I thought, Andy, just asking because STL 1.13 listed as avail?

I can take DAL if needed, last years rules said it was OK to take one or two teams. Let somebody else have them if we have enough timely volunteers.
