Carolina needs a corner, or two.
Didn't someone agree to rate each team's draft?Nice job everyone. Not sure we've ever done 3 rounds, much less 4.
Go ahead and repick.what is this speed round. I wait two days to make a pick and now were on cruise control. argh!
I agree with going OL the first two picks, you could probably go OL the first 3 to 4 picks. The OL is just a disaster.MoveToSkypager said:Thanks for your input dude. I appreciate it. I like Borland too, I went a different direction though. Thoughts on Miami taking a WR? Or going OL heavy early? Do you think they'd invest their first 2 picks on OL? Or 2 out of their first three? They obviously have a talent void and taking late rounders may not solve their problem.I feel like a lot of the LB debacle is on th coaching staff though. Probably an area they should address and I'd love it if Miami can grab Borland, he is going to be a player. With the 112th pick, the Miami Dolphins choose Shayne Skov, I/MLB, Stanford.
Another huge mistake of the Ireland regeime was shipping out a LB unit that was good, and replacing them with some bad LBs. The largest catastrophe in the LB unit was ridding themselves of perfectly fine Karlos Dansby, signing Ellerbe to a phat contract, then allowing him to suck all season. You might wonder why the Dolphins were poor against the run last past year? It wasn't Starks or Soliai to blame, that's for sure. The Dolphins will take a chance on his knee.

its actually a nice pick i was thinking wr any how. good job andy4.125 - San Francisco 49ers - Robert Herron WR - Wyoming
Really like this draft for motown. Even though I don't see Evans as a NFL #1, he'd be great across from Calvin.107 Lions
- WR Mike Evans. OT Morgan Moses, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
= TE C.J. Fiedorowicz
Wow. Really cool job on the write ups! Here's my draft report card. Remember I am not a professional NFL draft analyst™ so take my grades with a huge shaker of salt. Best/worst values are calculated vs. ADP as shown on the CBS and Yahoo sites.
Atlanta Falcons Team needs: DE, OL, TE
Picks: OT Jake Mathews, OLB Ryan Shazier, DT/DE Dominique Easley, RB Lache Seastrunk
Tades: None
Biggest bargain: Easley (+14) Biggest reach: none
Overall Grade: B+. Matthews was a no-brainer pick, and Seastrunk a good catch in the 4th. Easley’s questionable health in the DT spot precludes an “A” grade at this point.
Denver Broncos Team needs: OT, CB, DL
Picks: DE Kony Ealy, WR Davante Adams. CB Bashuad Breeland, WR Bruce Ellington
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Ealy (+16) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: B. Quite solid picks but extremely questionable to take a 2 WRs but not an OL.
Minnesota Vikings Team needs: QB, DE, OG
Picks: OLB/DE Khalil Mack, CB Kyle Fuller, QB Zach Mettenberger, DT Daniel McCullers, S Craig Loston
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Fuller (-19), Mettenberger (-37)
Overall Grade: B-. Mack was an easy pick. Left some great OL talent on the board to grab Fuller way above ADP.
That was last year when the Steelers grabbed Landry Jones.Idiot Boxer said:What was the Pittsburgh-Cleveland trade?
The Pack's starting front 3 are all free agents. Here's my draft report card. Remember I am not a professional NFL draft analyst™ so take my grades with a huge shaker of salt. Best/worst values are calculated vs. ADP as shown on the CBS and Yahoo sites.
Green Bay Packers Team needs: TE, safety, LB
Picks: TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, DT Kelcy Quarles , DT DaQuon Jones, S Terrence Brooks
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Brooks (+14) Biggest reach: Jenkins (-24), Quarles (-19)
Overall Grade: C-. ASJ was a reach in the 1st, and 2 DTs was a luxury the Pack can ill-afford in the real draft.
Our #2 and #3 WR are free agents. Our #2 and #3 DEs are free agents.Pittsburgh Steelers Needs: OT, safety, CB
Picks: CB Darqueze Dennard, WR Jordan Mathews, DE Josh Mauro
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Mauro (-21)
Overall Grade: B. Again, love the players. But no OL help? Big Ben is not amused.
No lie! Impressive and dedicated. RESPECT.Wow. Really cool job on the write ups! Here's my draft report card. Remember I am not a professional NFL draft analyst™ so take my grades with a huge shaker of salt. Best/worst values are calculated vs. ADP as shown on the CBS and Yahoo sites.

No Detroit?Winners
1. Cleveland
1a. St Louis
2. Minnesota
3. Philadelphia
4. Atlanta
5. Denver
Jumper Gave me an A.
In regards to the bolded from Jumper, I do expect them to attack something in free agency. I would like to see them get veteran help there as that is a tough position to get on a new team right off the bat as a rookie. Plus with a deep secondary group the later rounds could get some depth as well.Detroit Lions Team needs: CB, WR, safetyPicks: WR Mike Evans. OT Morgan Moses, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, TE C.J. Fiedorowicz
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Moses (+10) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. I like it. It has Evans to pair with Megatron, a pick to help OL depth, and solid prospects at CB and TE. Not taking more secondary help was a gamble but not foolhardy.
yep yep, thank you jumper. Thanks for taking the time to do the write-ups jumper, much appreciated.
). I think Mason is a better RB prospect than Murray a QB prospect, but that STL needs a backup QB more than a backup RB.
He doesn't have prototypical size, but like the late, great Sam Mills at LB (5'9"?), is just a football player. As a more contemporary size, FS/nickel CB-hybrid and playmaking reference, he does remind me of the Honey Badger. Further back, size-wise, he reminds me of Bob Sanders at safety and Antoine Winfield at CB. Here's my draft report card. Remember I am not a professional NFL draft analyst™ so take my grades with a huge shaker of salt. Best/worst values are calculated vs. ADP as shown on the CBS and Yahoo sites.
Arizona Cardinals Team needs: OT, S, OLB
Picks: OG Zach Martin (+8), OLB Jeremiah Attoachu (-33), S Deone Bucannon (-2) OT Joel Bitonio (+17)
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Bitonio (+17), Biggest reach: Attoachu (-33)
Overall Grade: B+. Nothing flashy or fancy, just quietly filled all the biggest gaps at mostly reasonable prices and hopefully put the OL woes behind for 2014.
Atlanta Falcons Team needs: DE, OL, TE
Picks: OT Jake Mathews, OLB Ryan Shazier, DT/DE Dominique Easley, RB Lache Seastrunk
Tades: None
Biggest bargain: Easley (+14) Biggest reach: none
Overall Grade: B+. Matthews was a no-brainer pick, and Seastrunk a good catch in the 4th. Easley’s questionable health in the DT spot precludes an “A” grade at this point.
Baltimore Ravens Team needs: OT, C, WR
Picks: OT Taylor Lewan, WR Allen Robinson
Trades: (NYG) Gives 1.17 and 3.17, Gets 1.12 Grade: A; Works on the trade chart and gets the Ravens OT Lewan at a huge position of need.
Biggest bargain: Easley (+14) Biggest reach: trade
Overall Grade: B-. Got their man at OT via the trade but the cost might not have been worth it. Both picks are great fits for the Ravens though.
Buffalo Bills Team needs: LB, TE, RT
Picks: TE Eric Ebron, OT Antonio Richardson, S Jimmie Ward, LB Yawin Smallwood
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Antonio Richardson (+12) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: B+. Ebron and Richardson will help offense tremendously. LB should have probably been prioritzed more, but hard to question taking Ward instead in the 3rd.
Carolina Panthers Team needs: WR, CB, OL
Picks: WR Kelvin Benjamin, OT James Hurst, DE DeMarcus Lawrence, CB Ross Cockrell
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Lawrence (+16) Biggest reach: Hurst (-68)
Overall Grade: B. Benjamin was a good pick, but Hurst was a huge reach in the 2nd.
Chicago Bears Team needs: DL, Safety, Interior OL
Picks: LB C.J. Mosely, DT Ego Ferguson, DE Chris Smith, DT Anthony Johnson
Trades: (BAL) Give 1.14, 2.51, 3.82; Get 1.18, 2.49, 3.80. Grade: D; I can see no rational reason for this trade for the Bears; could have easily gotten the 3.80 for free in the deal.
Biggest bargain: Johnson (+31) Biggest reach: Ferguson (-46)
Overall Grade: B+. Still baffled by the trade, but the picks are outstanding. If you want to fix a defense, this is how you do it although Cutler better hope his OL has a great year after not drafting one here.
Cincinnati Bengals Team needs: CB, OLB, Safety
Picks: S Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, CB Loucheiz Purifoy. DE Kareem Martin, DT Craun Reid
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Pourifoy (+14) Biggest reach: Reid (-10)
Overall Grade: A. Outstanding draft with tons of value in the first two picks especially. That secondary is going to be murder in the AFCN.
Cleveland Browns Team needs: QB, RB, OG
Picks: WR Sammy Watkins, OG David Yankey, QB Jimmy Garoppolo, CB Marcus Roberson, RB Bishop Sankey, WR Paul Richardson
Trades: (TB) Give 1.4 and 3.7; Get 1.7, 2.6, Grade: B-, worked out but probably could have held out for a bit more value. Can’t argue with trading down to get Watkins but might well come back to haunt the Browns if Garoppolo is a bomb.
Biggest bargain: Sankey (+20), Richardson (+36) Biggest reach: Garoppolo (-22)
Overall Grade: A-. I already mentioned my thoughts on the trade above. Still, getting the arguably #1 WR, #1 OG, top 5 RB, and high upside guys in Roberson and Richardson is a great draft. If Garoppolo pans out this would be one of the best draft hauls I’ve ever seen.
Dallas Cowboys Needs: DE, CB, safety
Picks: DT Aaron Donald, DE Scott Crichton, QB Connor Shaw, OLB Telvin Smith
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Smith (+55) Biggest reach: Shaw (-128)
Overall Grade: B-. Can’t fault the Aaron Donald pick, but the ‘Boys needed secondary help in the worst way and got none whatsoever plus took a huge gamble in Shaw.
Denver Broncos Team needs: OT, CB, DL
Picks: DE Kony Ealy, WR Davante Adams. CB Bashuad Breeland, WR Bruce Ellington
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Ealy (+16) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: B. Quite solid picks but extremely questionable to take a 2 WRs but not an OL.
Detroit Lions Team needs: CB, WR, safety
Picks: WR Mike Evans. OT Morgan Moses, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, TE C.J. Fiedorowicz
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Moses (+10) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. I like it. It has Evans to pair with Megatron, a pick to help OL depth, and solid prospects at CB and TE. Not taking more secondary help was a gamble but not foolhardy.
Green Bay Packers Team needs: TE, safety, LB
Picks: TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, DT Kelcy Quarles , DT DaQuon Jones, S Terrence Brooks
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Brooks (+14) Biggest reach: Jenkins (-24), Quarles (-19)
Overall Grade: C-. ASJ was a reach in the 1st, and 2 DTs was a luxury the Pack can ill-afford in the real draft.
Houston Texans Team needs: QB, OT, safety
Picks: DE Jadeveon Clowney, QB David Carr, OLB Carl Bradford
Trades: (NYG) Gives 1.17, Gets 2.1, 3.1
Biggest bargain: Bradford (+30) Biggest reach: Carr (-12)
Overall Grade: C-. Picking Clowney rather than a QB at 1.1 I can understand, but not trading back up into the 1st for Carr. No OL or secondary help in this draft either, unless you plan to drop Clowney back into coverage a LOT.
Indianapolis Colts Team needs: Interior OL, WR, LB
Picks: C Travis Swanson, CB Victor Hampton
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Hampton (+13) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: C. Meeting only one of your core needs won’t get you a good score.
Jacksonville Jaguars Team needs: QB, DE, OT
Picks: QB Teddy Bridgewater, DE/DT Stephon Tuitt, OG Chris Watt, RB Tre Mason, Martavis Bryant, WR
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Bryant (+35), Mason (+50) Biggest reach: Watt (-81)
Overall Grade: A. Jags got good picks all the way around at good value with the exception of Watt. Offense should be hugely improved next year with all the fresh talent.
Kansas City Chiefs Team needs: WR, DL, ILB
Picks: WR Odell Beckham Jr., CB Keith McGill, FS Kenny Ladler
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Ladler (-29)
Overall Grade: C. Got Beckham but ignored other core needs and didn’t seem like got great value in place of not filling those holes.
Miami Dolphins Needs: OT, OG, RB
Picks: OT Cyrus Kouandjio, OG Gabe Jackson, WR Donte Moncrief, LB Shayne Skov
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Montcrief (+19) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: B. Good news is that the OL meltdown is hopefully fixed. Bad news is that the Fins ignored the chance to nab a RB upgrade so that line won’t have anyone worth run blocking for.
Minnesota Vikings Team needs: QB, DE, OG
Picks: OLB/DE Khalil Mack, CB Kyle Fuller, QB Zach Mettenberger, DT Daniel McCullers, S Craig Loston
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Fuller (-19), Mettenberger (-37)
Overall Grade: B-. Mack was an easy pick. Left some great OL talent on the board to grab Fuller way above ADP.
New England Patriots Team needs: Interior OL, DL, CB
Picks: NT Timmy Jernigan, TE Troy Niklas. C Marcus Martin, RB Charles Sims
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: B. I really like the upgrades on both lines. Niklas will likely be a huge cog in the Pats defense going forward. But no CB to replace Talib who is probably a goner in FA.
New Orleans Saints Needs: OT, OLB, CB
Picks: CB Jason Verrett, OT Jack Mewhort. RB Jeremy Hill, OLB Adrian Hubbard
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Hill (+17) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. Like all these picks, although unsure that RB was the biggest need given Khiry Robinson aboard. Plus the Saints will probably misuse Hill terribly, choosing to inexplicably give snaps to Mark Ingram instead.
New York Giants Needs: LB, CB, interior OL
Picks: DT Ra' Shede Hagerman, OLB Kyle Van Noy, OG Dakota Dozier, OT Billy Turner, DE Jackson Jeffcoat, RB Davonte Freeman, Florida State
Trades: (CHI) Gives 1.12, Gets 1.17 and 3.17; (HOU) Gives 1.17, Gets 2.1, 3.1
Biggest bargain: Jeffcoat (+23) Biggest reach: Dozier (-21)
Overall Grade: A. Like all the picks although I would have picked an RB earlier; if you’re OK with the possibility of having David Wilson be the starter next year then you’re a lot braver than me.
New York Jets Team needs: WR, OG, CB
Picks: WR Marquise Lee, S Dion Bailey, RB Carlos Hyde, OG Anthony Steen, WR Brandon Coleman
Trades: (CHI) Give 1.18, 2.49, 3.80; Get 1.14, 2.51, 3.82: Grade: B+ Not a big haul and the Jets were able to move up 4 slots in the 1st for essentially free, but they likely could have gotten Lee at 1.18 anyway.
Biggest bargain: Steen (+38) Biggest reach: Bailey (-75)
Overall Grade: B+. Love Lee and Hyde, but you used a 2nd on Bailey when you could have had a really good OG instead? Plus no CB?
Oakland Raiders Team needs: QB, WR, OT
Picks: QB Blake Bortles, OG Su'a-Filo, DE/OLB Trent Murphy, DT Will Sutton
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Murphy (+24), Sutton (+39) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A-. I love the players selected, although not grabbing a WR or OT was a missed opportunity for sure.
Philadelphia Eagles Team needs: OLB, Safety, CB
Picks: OLB/DE Dee Ford, S Ed Reynolds, WR Brandon Cooks, OLB Marcus Smith, CB Pierre Desir
Trades: (SF) Give 1.22, Get 1.30, 2.56 Grade: A-, Win-win trade. Eagles collect draft chart value and still get a great player at the 1.30.
Biggest bargain: Cooks (+19), Smith (+16) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. I like it a lot. Good players at good prices.
Pittsburgh Steelers Needs: OT, safety, CB
Picks: CB Darqueze Dennard, WR Jordan Mathews, DE Josh Mauro
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Mauro (-21)
Overall Grade: B. Again, love the players. But no OL help? Big Ben is not amused.
San Diego Chargers Team needs: CB, OG, OLB
Picks: DT Louis Nix, OLB Trevor Reilly, CB E.J. Gaines, OT Chris Leno
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: Reilly (+11) Biggest reach: Leno (-31), Gaines (-27)
Overall Grade: B. First two picks are OMG. Last two are WTF?
Seattle Seahawks Team needs: WR, TE, OL
Picks: TE Jace Amaro, OG Cyril Richardson, OT Seantrel Henderson
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Henderson (-43)
Overall Grade: A. Super Bowl champs get big help on offense, and Russell Wilson a very, very happy man.
San Francisco 49ers Team needs: WR, DL, CB
Picks: CB Justin Gilbert, WR Jarvis Landry, OC Weston Richburg. SS Amhad Dixon, WR Robert Herron
Trades: (PHI) Give 1.30, 2.56, Get 1.22. Grade: A-, Win-win trade. SF gives up a reasonable amount of draft chart value to get Gilbert at 1.22, addressing a big need without breaking the bank.
Biggest bargain: Herron (+44) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. Finally, the Niners have offensive weapons to match up with anyone. Nice draft. The battles in the NFC West are going to be epic this year with all 4 teams being legitimate threats to win the whole shebang.
St Louis Rams Team needs: OL, WR, safety
Picks: OT Greg Robertson, S Calvin Pryor, FS/CB LaMarcus Joyner, QB Aaron Murray, OT/G Brandon Thomas
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: Pryor (-15), Murray (-50), Thomas (-21)
Overall Grade: A. Hey, fancy that – Sam Bradford will no longer need to fear for his life every Sunday and the Rams secondary gets talent to match the front seven. Good thing that, seeing as what the Seahawks and ‘Niners just did with their draft.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Needs: DE, TE, OT
Picks: QB Johnny Manziel, WR Jared Abbrederis, LB Christian Jones
Trades: (CLE) Give 1.7, 2.6, Get 1.4 and 3.7. Grade: B-, trade math works but it’s a head scratcher that the Bucs would give up on Mike Glennon this quickly to target a less than sure thing in Manziel. Biggest bargain: Jones (+24) Biggest reach: Abbredris (-27)
Overall Grade: C. Well, I guess Tampa Bay is “that guy” who will draft you-know-who / Tim Tebow rev. 2.0. At least Manziel will be entertaining to watch. Hope VJax doesn’t regress or Johnny Football is going to be doing a lot of running without many weapons to look downfield for.
Tennessee Titans Team needs: Safety, DE, QB
Picks: DE Anthony Barr, RB Ka’deem Carey, QB A.J. McCaron
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: McCarron (+19) Biggest reach: None
Overall Grade: A. All solid picks, although I’m not quite as sold on Barr as the draft analysts are.
Washington Redskins Team needs: DL, safety, interior OL
Picks: CB Bradley Roby. OT JaWauan James, LB Chris Borland
Trades: None
Biggest bargain: None Biggest reach: James (-46)
Overall Grade: C. Reaches all the way around except Borland, who isn’t the biggest need.
Great job here also, this brings a lot of clarity and understanding. It's a lot better tool for Fantasy owners also to see where the opporunities are.Great break-down by Jumper. If later on another version of a Shark Pool draft is conducted then hopefully he'll put a ribbon on-top with another fantastic breakdown.
I suggested to look at how many starters and the quality of starters would be a good way to look at the draft so I looked at the blue-chip players in this draft and came up with the following list of fifteen players:
Blue chip starters

I'd be glad to do another review. Let's get another mock going soon, they're lots of fun and I'd be happy to do them all the way up to real draft day although I might be the odd one in that regard.
I stand by this.... Best move they can make this draft. The Dallas Cowboys are offering Tony Romo for Teddy Bridgewater & the Jags 2nd rounder![]()
Absolutely no chance of this happening. Zero.I stand by this.... Best move they can make this draft. The Dallas Cowboys are offering Tony Romo for Teddy Bridgewater & the Jags 2nd rounder![]()
On top of grabbing Donald with their 1st rounder, I'd have them contending in 2015.
I agree... But this would save them tons of cap space and give them a good QB in the process.Absolutely no chance of this happening. Zero.I stand by this.... Best move they can make this draft. The Dallas Cowboys are offering Tony Romo for Teddy Bridgewater & the Jags 2nd rounder![]()

This might be the Packers choice at 21!!!Pick 21: Green Bay Packers select: Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE Washington
Team needs a Tight End to replace Jermichael Finley. ASJ is a unique talent and Ted Thompson decides to jump on him and look for defensive help in the later rounds. I expect his stock to skyrocket after the combine.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/06/if-bucs-move-to-no-2-its-for-manziel/With the 4th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Johnny Manziel.
I tried to trade up to the 2nd pick so I could draft Bridgewater, but I'd still be ecstatic getting Manziel here. Obviously, I'm not sold on Glennon, and if we were able to trade players, I'd immediately be looking to trade him for a 3rd round pick.
I expect the Bucs to sign a DE in free agency (probably Jared Allen), and getting Allen and Manziel would be huge steps in turning the Bucs into a legit playoff contender.
