Shark Pool Mock #1 (1 Viewer)

Giants have already taken two O-Linemen with the picks that they've made including an OT. Keep hearing they will address RB so RB has to be in the mix for their pick.

109 Giants

- DT Ra' Shede Hagerman, OLB Kyle Van Noy, OG Dakota Dozier, OT Billy Turner, DE Jackson Jeffcoat
I agree, there is so much uncertainty at the RB position there. Andre Brown is a free agent and David Wilson is trying to come back from a serious injury drafting a rookie RB makes sense.. Devonte Freeman, Terrance West, Charles Sims, or Andre Williams are available for RB's.

With the 110th pick in he 2014 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select WR Martavis Bryant.

Justin Blackmon...who knows. Bryant has tantalizing upside. This is assuming the Jags sign a starting center in FA, because they don't currently have one on the roster.

With the 111th pick in the draft the New York Jets select:

WR Brandon Coleman, Rutgers

The Jets let Coleman stay in NJ. Coleman isn't fast but at 6'6" he gives them a big target for Smith or a veteran QB to use near the Redzone. A knee injury kept his last season in the NCAAs relatively quiet but scored 20 TDs the two seasons before playing with some bad QBs in a running offense.

With the 112th pick, the Miami Dolphins choose Shayne Skov, I/MLB, Stanford.

Another huge mistake of the Ireland regeime was shipping out a LB unit that was good, and replacing them with some bad LBs. The largest catastrophe in the LB unit was ridding themselves of perfectly fine Karlos Dansby, signing Ellerbe to a phat contract, then allowing him to suck all season. You might wonder why the Dolphins were poor against the run last past year? It wasn't Starks or Soliai to blame, that's for sure. The Dolphins will take a chance on his knee.

I normally wouldn't do this, but since he's BPA and can take the biggest weakness to a strength I will do it. The Bears take Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU with pick 113. He joins his fellow lineman Ego Ferguson in Chicago. Bears needed talent in their front 7, and they have loaded up now.

1 (18) C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama

2 (49) Ego Ferguson, DT, LSU

3 (80) Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas

4 (113) Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU

I feel like a lot of the LB debacle is on th coaching staff though. Probably an area they should address and I'd love it if Miami can grab Borland, he is going to be a player.

Thanks for your input dude. I appreciate it. I like Borland too, I went a different direction though. Thoughts on Miami taking a WR? Or going OL heavy early? Do you think they'd invest their first 2 picks on OL? Or 2 out of their first three? They obviously have a talent void and taking late rounders may not solve their problem.

4.114 - ✦ Pittsburgh Takes Stanford DE Josh Mauro

6'6" 282# (and our #2, #3, #4 DEs are free agents)

STRENGTHS: Broad-shouldered, country-strong defensive lineman whose versatility is sure to intrigue scouts operating for 4-3 and 3-4 teams alike. Lined up predominately at defensive end for the Cardinal but also saw action inside as a defensive tackle and even on the nose. Possesses good initial quickness off the snap and is very powerful, using his long arms and strong hands to stonewall would-be blockers and often shed them to be in position to make a play at the point of attack. Physical tackler who arrives with a thud and wraps his arms securely for the reliable take-down. Alert defender who gets his hands into passing lanes.

High effort player who hustles down the line of scrimmage in an effort to make the play. Projects best as a five-technique defensive end.

WEAKNESSES: Steadily improved throughout his collegiate career but may be maxed out athletically-speaking. Surrounded by a lot of talent and was not the focus of opponents' blocking schemes. Offers little as a traditional pass rusher. While quick, strong and determined, does not possess the top-end speed or the flexibility to turn the corner and close in a flash.

COMPARES TO: Brett Keisel, Steelers -- Don't count on Mauro for blinding speed off the edge but his size, strength and toughness could make him a dependable five-technique defensive end.

1.15 Darqueze Dennard CB Mich St

2.46 Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt

3.97 Chris Borland ILB Wisconsin

4.116 Josh Mauro DE Stanford

Waiting to see the Cowboys pick. Probably should have been a safety in the 3rd instead of Connor Shaw but that helped me.

4.116 - Arizona Cardinals - Joel Bitonio OT Nevada

More of an "eat your vegetables" pick than anything. Taking a high-upside WR or even CB would have been the sexy pick here, but the Cardinals need serious help on the OL since IIRC both their 2013 starting tackles are UFAs this year. Yes, we already picked Zach Martin in the 1st, but due to the risk of a bust I'm going to take a second lineman to incrase the probabilty that at least one of them works out. And if both do that's a big bonus. Anything which would allow the Cards to stop needing to spend picks in the high rounds year after year just to plug the holes in the line would be a huge get for this team.

  1. OT/OG Zach Martin 2. OLB Jeremiah Attoachu 3. S Deone Bucannon 4. Joel Bitonio OT Nevada
