Shooting At Aurora, Colorado Movie Theater (1 Viewer)

Youngest victim is a 3 month old. Who the hell takes their 3 month old to a midnight movie?
People who are too selfish to logically wait until they can get a baby sitter and go at a reasonable time because they just have to be at the midnight showing. So sad. T&P to those parents and all who witnessed and are affected by this lunatic.
This probably isn't what they bargained for, on the grand scale of parenting sins, this probably ranks pretty low. A better question might be "Who raised the socio/psychopath?"

Well no kidding they didn't expect a gunman to be in the theater. But it's still ignorant and selfish, first off to have a 3 month out that late, in a loud theater with sound decibels the kid probably shouldn't be experiencing at 3mos, and pretty rude to the other movie goers trying to watch a movie with a crying baby. Just ####### morons in general.I would imagine that the gunman didn't have a quality upbringing, and if he did then something went terribly wrong.

It is, nobody is disagreeing with you. But you (and others) have already mentioned it ad nauseum. Can we focus on the real crime here?

Youngest victim is 6, injured not deceased. That said, who brings a 6 year old kid to a midnight showing of a movie like this?
as a parent that came to mind & who takes a 6 yo to a PG-13 movie. Terrible story
at midnight
They say the shooting happened at 1:00 AM MST.
He is saying not only was the 6 year old at PG-13 movie, it was also a midnight movie.
Not that taking a 6 yr old to a PG13 movie will win you the parent or guardian of the year, but lets not focus in on that as some kind of egregious sin. Lets imagine the shooting happened at a CVS pharmacy while the parent was picking up cough medicine for her kid. The point is, especially with police security around the perimeter of the theater, it wasn't like some dive bar in a red light district. Let's not go down that road of blaming the irresponsible parent.
you are right. I think people are just so worked up we're focusing on the wrong thing. Sorry for the hijack

Surely, sorry for the hijack, just having some casual conversation. Back on main topic and psychoanalysis of a killer.

Seems like this ####in piece of garbage was trying to be the villian from the move.
He wore a gas mask and armored vest. Sounds like Bane.Anyway, those poor people.
I was going to make a Rush Limbaugh/Mitt Romney comment here but obviously this is not a joking matter. Very, very tragic event. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.
umm...you may as well start off as long as you mentioned it...I have plenty of Obama/liberal gun banners material I can lob. I highly doubt any of the victims are trolling the FFA at this moment.

this is horrible and i really think we have gone off the deep end people just do not have any decency to others anymore and it is pretty depressing

People have sucked way before today and will continue to suck here on out...unless you're thinking like clampino.

Sad and there seems to be no way to prevent this type of terror attack.
What type of weapon did he use?
Don't turn this into a gun debate, because it's pointless. Guy could've just as easily thrown in some pipe bombs, or rammed his car into the line of people waiting to get in.
While I agree this isn't the place, that is a discussion worth having.
Gun debate. Video games debate. Political beliefs debate. We all know the drill here.

It's bad enough when it's a school shooting by a kid that was bullied or a disgruntled ex-employee at a workplace, but just something so random like this is incomprehensible. Just horrible. Doesn't even seem to be a "death by police" situation. He just wanted to kill people.

Well I was speaking more of discussion across the country not really just here.

The whole midnight premier showings of big movies is well before my time. I remember last summer when my 9 yo daughter was excited about the last Harry Potter film, and I thought it was nuts to see a movie at midnight. But then late night shows become a big time phenomenon. I’m sure that the movie studios love the press the next day and it is somehow considered a “news” item on Headline news and generates buzz.

Not that I was ever going to take my daughter at midnight (3 hours after her bedtime). I just don’t know now…. maybe it’s overreacting, but I sure won’t let anyone from family ever attend one of those midnight shows in the future. I think midnight premieres are a mistake. I think they give nutjobs the stage to create their exotic twisted fantasies. Just don’t know what is going on with some people these days. SMH

Time has nothing to do with nutjobs being nutjobs, yea, i think you are overreacting

 This couldve happened at any time of day. Not sure I get the connection to the midnight showing. I guess maybe the shooter knew there would be alot of people there thus a higher death count. Maybe thats the only connection I see.

Not sure how old you are but they have been doing midnight shows since I was a kid. My first big midnight premier was Empire Strikes Back. That was over 30 years ago.

Give me a break with the sanctimonious posturing going on here!!! Do any of you honestly believe that, within a few hours, this isn't going to be the place for a debate on gun control, violence in the media, kids unchecked abuse of violent video games from a young age, and political posturing on both sides of the isle? This is a sad, sad deal for everyone involved, but seriously....how is it any sadder than a lot of the crap that goes on and has gone on in human history. Hey, I bet you didn't know that there have been close to 300 homicides in Chicago alone this year, including a 3 yr old, a 7 year old, and scores of teens! Funny, but I am not seeing many condolences going out to those peeps. ( probably because most of them are black)

Believe me, they are already talking about the difference between auto and non auto guns on NBC. This is for sure going to turn into a debate. You should be glad you live in a country where you are still allowed to do that.

yeah, I think the midnight showings started in the 70's.

I hope it doesn't capsize because of too many people going to one side.

Well, technically he DID say it was well before his time, although I dont think that was his intention

I know, I remember Rocky Horror midnight shows too. It was all small scale and local though back then. Now it's a coordinated system of packed houses.

That's true. The midnight movies I went to were usually older flicks, not the actual premiere.

For what its worth, I assume most of the people shot/injured won't be white. Your argument is ridiculous.

Sadly, it will not get better, only worse. After waterboarding this POS, they need to put 2 in the back of his head. No reason for this guy to be breathing 1 month from now.
