You've waited awhile, in fact you are the last person to take a starting QB and you know some owners are going to take a QB2 pretty soon. Which of these are you most comfortable with...

Rodgers

Brees

Brady

Manning

Romo

Schaub

Rivers

Kolb

Favre

McNabb

Cutler...all of these guys are gone.

Manning by a longshot, he's got some great weapons and it's HIS team now.

However, I'd also be interested in waiting a bit and taking Henne...depends on how big my advantages are at other spots and if I can afford to take a risk that he breaks out.

With those ADPs, Manning.

I like Ryan too but not if I can get Manning later, same with Palmer to a slightly lesser degree. Either way if I'm in that situation, I probably try to come away with 2 of the guys in your poll.

Least likely to draft for me? Flacco

Manning

Palmer

Flacco

Ryan

I know it's easy to not like TO, say he washed up, etc.....but personally I disagree...I actually think TO may have been humbled over the last couple of years (can't believe I typed that)...and I still think he has enough game and spirit to make any team better.....I bump up Palmer for this reason and could see him having a top 7-8 type year so I am watching him.....but right now I still take Manning over him if I had to draft right now....

eta: I like these type of threads, cause these are the things we actually have happen sometimes...

:) Right, so wait till the QBs are emptied out and then grab 2 of these guys, that's kind of what I was thinking. I still am a fan of the top QBs as they do give an owner a big advatage ont he weeks they hit big like Romo, Brees, and Rodgers...but this allows you to laod up on perhaps 4 WRs/3RBs in the 1st 7 rounds then go QB/QB in the 8th/9th, then maybe an overlooked TE in the 10th.

Not sure TO will sign in Cinci...word is the Jets are exploring the possibility of signing him right now.Nice post SR, thanks.Tryng to get into real world situations. I get tired of projecting guys and dynasty talk too, let's focus on redrafts for the next month.

There's a relatively deep tier here, so the answer will really depend on several factors, including draft position. If I'm sitting at the end and will be waiting a while to pick again, I probably take Manning here. If I'm in the middle or will have another pick soon, I'm passing on QB and taking value elsewhere.

Just because 11 QB's have been chosen doesn't mean you can't wait until 13, or 14 or even 16 have been chosen if you have them valued similarly to #11. If you have #16 rated about the same as #12, then only take #12 if you don't think 13, 14, 15, or 16 will make it back either.

the only thing I don't like about that MOP i sthat you have to make a choice each week, and honestly that is the worst part of my game....I always seem to pick the wrong guy......I could have Flacco at home against the Rams and Palmer at the Jets.....I'd go with Flacco and watch McGahee get 3 td's and Flacco nuthin...and Palmer go off out of nowhere against the best D in the league.......mark it down it would happen.......I get burnt a bunch by "the better matchup" a ton....I know it shouldn't factor in, but it does for me a little.....it is nice to just plug your stud in every week and go.....sorry for the minor hijack....

Good point Rene, let's assume you are holding the 7.12/8.01 picks on the turn. What would you do?Again, let's assume you hold the 8.06 pick and these 4 guys are on the board but you also know folks in your league will start a QB2 run very soon. And finally, I think there is some drop off after these guys. Big Ben will go in the 9th/10th to someone but after that it is Stafford, Henne, A.Smith, V.Young, and M.Leinart...I'm not comfortable with those guys as my QB1 to be honest.

mike and mike made it sound like it was a done deal on the way to work this morning......but can't confirm

I have to disagree about this being a deep tier.I actually see these as the last small tier of high upside QBs. After them its just the guys who fill out a position for you (Garrard, Delhomme) or boom-bust chances (Henne, M. Moore, do we really know what these guys are going to do?) These guys are the ones you can count on as being steady with out spending half the season trying to "upgrade" your current starter. I'd rather get one of them than "settle" for Garrard/Henne later on. Plus you can always take a flier on the Henne/Sanchez/Moore group later.Big Ben is of course the wildcard here with his suspension, its hard to slot him and know what to count on

It's worth discussion. I feel that one of these guys, perhaps 2 even will appear as a plug n play when the season starts to unfold. meaning that at the end of the season there will be 2-3 QBs in the upper elite status like Brees/Rodgers last year, then about 7-8 QBs that are all within a couple ppg between them like Favre, Romo, Manning, Ben, Brady, Schaub and Rivers were last year and someone in this tier is going to hit that mark. I really am not into QBBC, but I am into finding a guy that outperforms his ADP...I hope that made sense. Seems like if you took 2 of these guys you have a solid chance at finding a top10 Qb over the course of 2010.

If I was in that spot, I take Eli in a heartbeat and do a little dance that I stole a top 10 QB in round 9.

If I couldn't get Eli, I would be inclined to wait even further and take a QBBC with guys like Big Ben, Stafford, Henne, A Smith. Flacco, Ryan and Palmer all have their issues and I wouldn't be totally confident about them as my every week starter.

For me, my preference for the 4 QBs in the OP is EManning, Flacco, Ryan, Palmer

Last year Eli completed 62% of his passes, that stat has gone up steadily every year since he came into the league. He turned 29 this past January.

He had 4,000+ yds and 27 Tds, both career bests. I know he has more weapons now to work with but is there a chance he comes off those numbers or are we just seeing the potential he brings as a FF QB?

He usually hits in the 12-14 range of QBs at the end of the season.

I'm surprised to see Eli going after Ryan and Flacco in a redraft. By the time most drafts are done, he'll be going in the top 10 ahead of McNabb and maybe Favre and Kolb.
