Sober February (1 Viewer)

Havent had a drink since last week in December. Not much of a drinker although do enjoy an occasional beer. Its more because Im losing weight and would rather eat my calories than drink them. Also havent had any weed since then too. Trying to avoid the munchies. My life has been incredibly boring since December.

You can still get high from exercising.

You could pick a fight with bigger guy. The adrenaline rush + calories lost from running + eating through a tube = excitement and weight loss.

Vast majority of my drinking is Thursday thru Sunday.

I look at it as a quarter way done. One weekend down, 3 to go.

I'll start on the 6th, have no delusions of making it more than a week.
5 days in. Hit a couple of bars with my wife and some friends / family last night and weathered the storm.  My cousin, who was hammered, order a round of shots for a few of us and included me out of habit. When someone reminder him that I wasn't drinking, he looked over his shoulder and muttered some obscenities at me.

No stopping me now.

My energy level is off the charts.

Played guitar for about 45 minutes

Cleaned the main floor for two hours

Made the boy breakfast, and cleaned everything up when done

Exercised for 45 minutes

Played guitar for another 45 minutes

Now I'm pacing around wondering what to do with myself.
And right on cue, here comes the energy. Woke up at 6:00 AM on a Saturday, which is unheard of unless I'm golfing, and I'm bouncing off of the god dammed walls.

It's only 3:10 on Friday and I'm already getting itchy.

The big test of the weekend will be a drinking buddy's 50th birthday. If I can survive that, I should be home free as the calendar for the following weekend is clean.

So I tried doing this this year, but cheated by starting at halftime of the Super Bowl.  I suppose I expected to feel magical - like I'd have some new clarity on the world or wouldn't need to sleep as much.  Nope, no real difference.  Of course I am sleeping better on a random Saturday versus having a bunch of drinks, but otherwise no major noticeable change.  On the plus side, I guess that means I wasn't drinking so much that it really affected my day-to-day.  I'll probably stick with it till the end of the month to see if I lose weight or anything, but at this point it is more just a willpower test than anything.

Had me a Sober July. Really needed it. One day at a time, though. Trying to make this last longer than the month.

Been good for my health and sanity. Been less on the boards, but better when here and more with it in life.

Anyone doing a Sober Dog Days of August post here and I'll update also. Otherwise I'll keep it silent and concentrate on the action rather than the talk.

Good job. I haven't had a drink since May 11.  I plan to keep the streak going.

I hosted a keg party for 4th of July and was able to stick with water.   Amazing how many days I have wasted hung over.

Nice. Good to hear someone around here is doing something similar. I also don't miss the hangovers this past month. Looking to keep it up and move upward and onward, though I might have just jinxed it.

Been doing a sober year so far. NYE was the last time I had any type of alcohol. No hangovers is nice for sure. Saves money and makes losing weight easier as well.

I'm doing no soda or alcohol for all of 2018.  So far, so good.  Next football season will be rough.  My football officiating crews like to drink.
