Considering all 6 movies are about Anakin/Vader, that's either a silly statement or an indictment on Star Wars.Insein said:Besides this is all on a hypothetical Vader movie that shows him as Vader doing Vader stuff. Which I guess is cool but about as much depth as the Incredible Hulk.
Star Wars isn't exactly Shakespeare. Its just a fun experience. I dont know how much fun an introspective look at Vader as Vader would be. It would be like a day in the life of a sociopath. Great is debatable. And who says JJ would do the Vader movie that doesnt exist except in the minds of internet nerds? Hes only doing 7 right now."Well JJ, we're really in a quandary. I mean, we have this great Vader script, and I know you'd love to make it..But these video game plotlines...."

Silence of the Lambs 3 brought to you by Disney. Theres a reason Miramax existed.I dont think we'll see a dark and broody Star Wars film when the ultimate goal is merchandise for the 3-25 year olds. Is it 100 confirmed it will be put out as "Disney" rather than a Lucas Film? Just like Disney did with Marvel...Silence of the Lambs 3 brought to you by Disney. I slept for like 3 hours last night. I dont remember my point.Burn!I really don't understand your "now that it's Disney OMG they are going to make it like frozen" but you're certainly entitled to your dumb fears. ;-) and your narrow "target audience" comment prompted my reply. But no, I doubt Lucas will put out an R Star Wars film.
I think your point was that they had established some canon. And that they were going to continue to do so with the next game. And that those fans are really at the core of their target audience. They will watch it multiple times, buy all the thousand directors cuts, etc. So it might be good to follow the canon sort of set. But I mean no one would ever do anything in a movie to make it conform to a video game they also wanted to make money off of, why it's unheard of.I slept for like 3 hours last night. I dont remember my point.
If they weren't hell bent on going with the JLA route in the movies...I wouldn't have been surprised if the movies(or comics) drew from some material from the games; be it plot or maybe character presentation. I actually think you're selling the stories for games a bit short.Yes it is.Where did I say they were using the books? I actually said they would ignore them. However they made 3 video games in the last 4 years that feature Vaders back story and the Rebels beginning. These games were targeted at the 8-25 year old demographic. I dont think its as cut and dry that they ignore those.Yep. The people who read that stuff will go see these movies no matter what they do. Disney will appeal to a much larger audience. They definitely do not care about the books or video games. Maybe 2% of the audience seeing these movies have ever read those books. They are making these for a billion dollar payday, they're going to do what they want and it's a wide open canvas.I merely meant that a lot of the EU books were made in the 90's. So disregarding them is one thing. Your target audience wont know or care. But Force Unleashed 1&2 was 2009 & 2010 with FU3 coming in the next year. They feature Vader prominently and are targeted at the potential audience they want. To completely change the story from where they went in those would confuse a lot of potential viewers in their target demo.I don't think they are going to abide by the video games when making movies, come on.
Do the batman movies follow the Arkham games?
I believe he is referring to Force Unleashed One and Two. Apparently there will be a Three. One was pretty good, Two was kind of meh. What video games are these?
Yes thank you.I think your point was that they had established some canon. And that they were going to continue to do so with the next game. Yeah, sonic doesn't come out until 2016You don't need to be a scriptwriter to realize they aren't going to pay attention to any video game backstory. This isn't a Sonic the Hedgehog movie.Uh huh. I forgot how many scripting experts we have in the FFA.They are 1000% not going to pay attention to any video games (Where did I say they were using the books? I actually said they would ignore them. If it was even brought up in a script meeting that person would be ushered out of the room.

Disney announced that Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) will be directing and Gary Whitta (Book of Eli) will be writing the new, unknown stand alone Star Wars movie due out in December '16.

I thought Anakin slaughtering all the Jedi kids was the most horrific thing he ever did.In the age of anti-heroes like Walter white and tony soprano, an evil vader rampaging while being conflicted could be good if done right.
The fear would be weakening the character even more so after what the prequels did to him. Vader isn't as intimidating to the audience in episode 4 if you saw the prequels first.
Which is why to new star wars watchers you show them 4-5-1-2-3-6.

Star Wars is a Lucasfilm production. Sure, Lucasfilm is owned by Disney, but Star Wars is being driven by Lucasfilm. Just like Marvel has it's own president, internal decision making and control structure and multiple productions going on at once, Lucasfilm has the same with the multiple Star Wars movies coming out.Is it 100 confirmed it will be put out as "Disney" rather than a Lucas Film? Good one. That always bothered me because he only got his hand cut off and blown out the window by the Emperor. Luke managed to survive both of those (Anakin had no problem sky diving without a parachute as well) and he wasn't half the jedi Windu was.I bet we get a shocking cameo from the first three films in episode 7. My money is on an aged Mace Windu showing up. We never found the body and probably no-one would have even looked for it after what went down. Went into hiding for years and comes back.
Of that I can definitively say no. Love Maul but there is zero mainstream knowledge of him except for Lego Star wars.Speaking of Darth Maul... anyone think that they might be considering a Darth Maul side project?

I didn't, that's pretty cool. I don't have as much an issue with non-life CGI as I do CGI people/charachters. You old smoothie. The Falcon arrives at Cloud City. The shooting of the scene was delayed after Carrie Fisher felt unwell following a night with Eric Idle, Harrison Ford and the Rolling Stones drinking a beverage called Tunisian Table Cleaner discovered by Idle during the filming of Life Of Brian. The party atmosphere spilled into the shoot. "Billy Dee (Williams) would say dirty things," said Fisher. "I would say them right back. He said something unmentionable when he kissed my hand."
