No, it's not.I describe a Stella as a Heineken w/o the bitter aftertaste.
Stella may not be "good beer" buts it's better then most.
There are more good beers than bad.

Grolsch down?Nothing* is worse than Heineken. But Stella Artois is really bad

Heineken? #### that ####. Pabst Blue Ribbon!Just horribly bad. Worse than Heineken.
If Jules Winnfield thinks it's terrible it must be great IMO.![]()
If you've seen his movie reviews, you know what I mean.
Yet here you are, on page 2!No one cares what kind of beer you like or dislike.
lol look at this "guy" chasing drinks.- now I know what to chase Jack 'Honey' with :X
Are we really comparing Stella to Rochefort? Rochefort 10 is maybe the best beer in the world. Stella isn't good but it's a wildly different style.Rochefort is awesome but you gotta watch the ABV on those Trappist ales.
I'm not. Someone brought it up.Are we really comparing Stella to Rochefort? Rochefort 10 is maybe the best beer in the world. Stella isn't good but it's a wildly different style.
- not only that, but I use a ####### straw to drink my beerlol look at this "guy" chasing drinks.
"But Belgium punches so far above its weight when it comes to beer that it's downright insulting for them to export so much of the only terrible one they make. It's like if the United States's main culinary export was ####### Lunchables."
Likewise, no one cares what you do or don't care about. It's a message board, we discuss things here. People voice opinions. If you don't want that, why are you here?No one cares what kind of beer you like or dislike.
Could not agree more...it's like food...you may think it sucks and I may like it...and we both can be right...one maybe a better quality but that doesn't mean it agrees with what your preference is...I actually work in this industry and I always get a chuckle out of people who somehow feel their choices are superior to everyone else...I have seen a ton of places screw themselves by doing wine or beer lists based on what they like and not what the general public likes (these guys love to impress their friends with their knowledge)...on the flipside I see places that screw themselves by only offering mass-marketed items...they get an attitude that anyone who doesn't like Bud thinks they're too cool...the smartest guys offer it all and cast the biggest consumer net...I hate people who generalize beers by saying one is good or bad just because they think it's good or bad.
I personally think IPA's taste like garbage. ALL IPA's. But I get that some people like them, so whatever. Doesn't make it a bad beer, just a beer I don't like.
...and yes, I actually really like Stella, and Corona, and a lot of the other stuff a lot of folks consider garbage.
Same here, hate IPAs, like Stella on tap. Especially if I'm having more than a few.Fat Nick said:I hate people who generalize beers by saying one is good or bad just because they think it's good or bad.

And 90% of beer snobs regularly drink, bud light, coors light, miller light or the like.matuski said:I am betting 99.9% of the people you think are thinking they are drinking good belgian beer are just trying to have a beer.
Perfect example.Ministry of Pain said:Almost all mass marketed beer is garbage. 1 craft beer is better than 6 regular beers any day.
I do like a Miller Lite Alum Bot when I am watching the marlins, makes me feel like I am at the park.
Agree and in some dive bars and restaurants that don't have many taps and/or haven't heard of craft beer it's the best thing available.Ketamine Dreams said:It's better than Bud Light, Busch Light or Budweiser...

Not sure there is a beer on earth I wouldn't drink.I'm here to tell beer snobs to shut the #### up.Evilgrin 72 said:Likewise, no one cares what you do or don't care about. It's a message board, we discuss things here. People voice opinions. If you don't want that, why are you here?

What iritates me about Stella bottles, besides it not tasting as good, is they shortchange you half an oz per bottle.
I like this. As others have stated some places just have mass produced options. There's a golf course I frequent that only has like three beers on tap and a few can/bottle options. After a round there I go Stella as it's reliable, not heavy and on tap.Bonzai said:This has been posted here before. Misguided hate.
Not a fancy beer, but one created to be consumed by the hundreds.
Nothing wrong with that!As you age Sir Tony it gets a little harder to keep drinking heavy craft beers...unless you are satisfied with 1...I am now but I used to down 6-7 craft beers in a night...I lived down the ally from FO in Santa Monica, the stories I could tell about us closing that place many times.
Never understood the colored bottles and sunlight theory. Who the hell stores their beer outside? And who the hell has beer that's been in storage for very long?
I found these two postings back to back to be pretty ironic. Who the hell shoves a beer bottle up...well...you know...If I was going to bash anything to do with beer it would be the beer companies and the stupid sales gimmicks. Miller lite's vortex neck, wtf is that? I have an idea: why not put the vortex on the outside of the neck and market it as a pleasure for women.
Maybe that's the issue here. If you don't leave your Stella in the hot sun all day, it's not bad.Never understood the colored bottles and sunlight theory. Who the hell stores their beer outside? And who the hell has beer that's been in storage for very long?
It is usually skunked by the time you get it. The type and amount of hops, the color of the glass and the amount of time the beer is exposed to UV light will also be determining factors in the skunkiness of the beer. It is possible for a beer to turn skunky in minutes.Never understood the colored bottles and sunlight theory. Who the hell stores their beer outside? And who the hell has beer that's been in storage for very long?
Even artificial light can skunk a beer so if a Stella has been sitting in the bright lights of a supermarket it can get skunked.Never understood the colored bottles and sunlight theory. Who the hell stores their beer outside? And who the hell has beer that's been in storage for very long?
Not a consumer issue, but a major one on the distribution and retail side. That big diplay right by the windows in the front of the store isn't the best place to grab your sixer of Corona or Modela.Never understood the colored bottles and sunlight theory. Who the hell stores their beer outside? And who the hell has beer that's been in storage for very long?
I've been told it's the Keystone of Belgium.Horrible beer but what a great marketing department they must have. A lot of people have the impression that it's an upper echelon beer and pay way too much for this over priced crap.
I got to drink some Westy 12 on my recent trip to Belgium. I almost posted in Paddington's thread right after because its the closest I've come to finding god.
