waiting for official confirmation on that. i'd like to believe SJax, but just can't, yet.Jackson says he's ready to returnhttp://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=truePost updates here
After a one-game absence, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson says he's ready to return.
Jackson announced on his personal Web site on Saturday he will play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday after missing last week's game with a thigh injury. He was officially listed as "questionable" on Friday's final injury report after being limited in practice during the week.
"I want to let you all know that the leg is feeling good enough for me to go on Sunday," Jackson wrote. "This is a big game for us against Arizona, and I’m going to give everything I’ve got to get us a win."
"So to be clear: I am playing. Be ready."
Rams coach Jim Haslett had desribed Jackson as a game-time decision on Friday.
Defensive end Leonard Little (hamstring), defensive tackle Adam Carriker (ankle) and cornerback Tye Hill (knee) were also listed as questionable for the Rams.
"They're the same and I felt better about Leonard (Little) today than all of them, but we'll see how they all go," Haslett said Friday.
Well, he never acted like this last week so if he's that convinced he's paying, I'll take his word for it. I'm still checking at 12:30 ish for sure, but I'm shocked if he doesn;t play.I need him bad this week!!Jackson says he's ready to returnhttp://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=truePost updates here

i'm hoping that's true.but the same thing happened last week at this time...it was reported on the news that SJax would play, then later in the morning it turned out SJax was going to be out.no, I'm not going to ask for links. I got baited on that one last week.Well, if Scheffler validates it, it must be true.In any case, I'm starting him with confidence.
Being limited in practice 4 days this week isnt an indication either way. Tony Scheffler is in the same situation, including the declaration, and I'm guessing no one is as optimistic about him.I think he plays also, but I don't know about the 90% probable thing.FWIW - he practiced FOUR DAYS this week and declared himself ready to go.I'd take that as evidence he is 90% probable to play.
Clocks back an hour, down?1230 and no 100% confirmation....damnit

Yea, this makes me feel good. I have to leave for the afternoon in about ten minutes, so this is the report that I'll have to go on. Starting him and hoping for the best.Mort on Espn just reported that Haslett "worked Jackson out this morning and he was fine" said "unless something happens between then and kickoff, Jackson is true to his word and will play."
THAT I may not do - because Jax might not be all that effective - we just don't know. I'm playing him over Pittman, as I really have no choice (realistically, I need to play the STL starter.) But if I had a Portis vs Jax decision today, I'd play Portis.I was confident last night, but do I really play Jax over Portis this weekend?
Wish I had seen this, what a disappointmentKingEl said:Glazer on Fox just said Jackson will start but Haslett told him "I don't know how effective he will be, it's something we'll have to monitor." hmm.. this makes me second guess starting Jackson over Chris Johnson--- ppr league though....
It looked like they shut him down because the game was out of hand, but he was in for goalline packages dropping passes.Any news? I suppose he played his way right into another GTD?
Thanks for posting it. I did see it and decided to go with Chris Johnson /M Turner instead of Jackson.Wish I had seen this, what a disappointmentGlazer on Fox just said Jackson will start but Haslett told him "I don't know how effective he will be, it's something we'll have to monitor." hmm.. this makes me second guess starting Jackson over Chris Johnson--- ppr league though....
Steven Jackson must practice at full speed to play against the Jets
Running back Steven Jackson must practice at full speed at least one day this week or he won’t play in the Rams’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday, coach Jim Haslett said Monday.
“Steven has to give us a full day's work this week or he’ll not play,’’ Haslett said. “We can’t go into the game not knowing whether he can play or not. We’re going to make sure he can actually go in practice, and not just jog through. He’s going to have to give us a full day’s work, and I think he’ll feel better about it also.’’
Haslett said Jackson ran out on the field for the Rams’ first play from scrimmage against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but he then took himself out of the game because he didn’t feel comfortable with the running play that had been called in the huddle.
“We worked him out on Sunday, and he said he felt good,’’ Haslett said. “From my vantage point, and from the guy calling the plays, Coach (Al) Saunders, I don’t know if that is fair because you have set a plays of him and set of plays for Pittman, and you’re trying to game plan, and all of the sudden the first play, he can’t go. He’s not 100 percent, and you’re in a state of flux the whole game trying to call the game. We just can’t go through that.’’
Jackson was clearly not himself as he ended up rushing 17 yards on seven carries against the Cardinals.
If Jackson can’t play, Haslett said Kenneth Darby, signed off the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad on Oct. 14, will start at running back.
Darby is the last running back left on the Rams’ roster with Antonio Pittman already ruled as out for the game due to a hamstring injury and Travis Minor needing to pass a neuro-pysch test on Tuesday in order to play against the Jets after sustaining a concussion on Sunday.
“Would you rather have three guys out there who are injured or somebody who is at least healthy,’’ Haslett said when asked if Darby was capable of carrying a full load in the Rams’ offense after less than three weeks with the team. “That’s the situation we are in right now, so we’ll go with the guy who is healthy.’’
-- Wide receivers Drew Bennett (broken foot) and Dante Hall (high ankle sprain) will be placed on injured reserve.
Derek Stanley will assume Hall’s kickoff and punt return chores.
-- Linebacker Chris Draft has a broken foot similar to Bennett’s injury, but he won’t be placed on IR. Haslett said Draft is expected to miss up to six weeks, but he doesn’t think it’ll be that long.
“Knowing Chris, he’ll be back in 2-3 weeks because that’s the kind of kid that he is,’’ Haslett said.
-- Haslett said right guard Jacob Bell, who took a blow to the stomach on Sunday, is OK.
-- Cornerback Tye Hill, who has missed four straight games with a knee injury, will play against the Jets.
-- Safety Todd Johnson (kidney) has been cleared to play against the Jets.
-- Defensive lineman Eric Moore is undergoing an MRI on his neck and spine.
I wouldn't say it's good news, unless you're talking about making the lineup decision easier. Doesn't sound like he's any healthier, although we'll see this week. For those who started Jackson and took his 1 point (ouch)..I see this as good news.
I guess it all depends on your options and current playoff position.I'd rather see him wait until he's HEALTHY and ready to explode through the playoff run, than to keep running on it and risk further/lingering injury.I wouldn't say it's good news, unless you're talking about making the lineup decision easier.
