For dog owners watching Severance, does your dog have problems while it's on? Apparently some dogs do.

"Some fans of the hit Apple TV series — a surreal workplace thriller that is fast approaching the conclusion of its second season — have noticed their pets getting worked up when “Severance” is on in their homes. Dogs have barked at the elevators or at the sound of key cards being swiped. One Reddit user described how her dog, who is normally calm at night, will pace around the home and whimper whenever “Severance” is on the TV. On TikTok, several viewers reported that their dog went into hiding after they watched the show."
my dude never notices unless there's a dog noise(whine/whimper/bark) coming from the TV

Going to pick up Apple TV short term to binge Severance.

Anything else worthwhile we should try?

Think the last time we had it finished Ted Lasso, The Morning Show S3, Mythic Quest S2, Shrinking S1.
We love For All Mankind. Alt history based on how national and global events might’ve unfolded over the next several decades had the Soviets landed on the moon first.
First couple seasons were really good
season 2 is one of my favorite seasons of TV ever. IMO it jumped the shark halfway through season 3.

KOBE (streaming on HBO Max)
Three 1-hour episodes.
I was never a Kobe fan, but I developed a great respect for his game and fierce competitiveness.
I don't take documentaries as "truth telling" but I do enjoy seeing a side of an individual I had not seen before. He was certainly committed to his daughters, and the relationship he had with his parents certainly became very complicated.
However, if you were to believe this documentary you would think Kobe was a choir boy that only made one single critical mistake during his career, and I'm not buying that.
I'm all for innocent until proven guilty but I'm just not buying that he was clean of wrongdoing based on his comments after accuser dropped the charges.

I like well done sports docs (all the 30 for 30's etc), and this one is well done!

I actually just finished this. I'm a sucker for sports docs of the players I grew up on. I watch em all. I was a Blazer fan and anti Laker guy but absolutely loved Kobe. He ain't Jordan but still loved him. Doc was good, but what I didn't like is that they jumped from just touching on being a rookie to immediately a 3 time NBA champ. I would have liked to have seen more on his rookie year and him climbing the ladder.

Very telling that his parents weren't there for sexual assault trial. Just can't imagine that as a parent. Felt weird. I had forgotten most of the details of this. Not good. Feel bad for what that young lady went through from the media. My opinion is that the sexual assault took place. Doesn't make me feel good as a person where I was able to separate his off court actions from the enjoyment he gave me as a player. I'll work on that I guess.

i have not and will not watch anything about kobme because i followed that case i think it definitely happened and it makes me sick that so many people idolize that guy despite it he should have been in jail not on a court take that to the bank bromigos

man severance is slow going i need to stop trying to watch it after 7 pm the first two episodes have just knocked me out when does it pick up take that to the bank brochachos

Not until the end of the season. It's a slow burn, but I believe it's more than worth it. Juxtapose next to Ted Lasso though is going to make it seem extra slow.

new Wheel of Time
S3 Eps 1-3 available
Eps 4-8 are weekly
Anyone watch any of this yet? Anyone find a good recap of last season? I am not sure I remember anything
I just started S2 and could throw some short episode summaries here as I go through it.
I just started S3.

That is all.
This is my weekend viewing, will check back on Monday.

Streaming is such a luxury now. Having to wait a week for new episodes is no fun.

Waiting for the next episode:
DareDevil
Reacher
The Rookie
Suits LA
Grey's Anatomy (kid is watching, so I am)

Next month we get more Leverage: Redemption, which should have all eps drop together. So that's nice.

I just started S2 as well, and maybe it's just me but I find the show really difficult to follow. I read the books, so I don't feel like I should be constantly asking myself what the hell is going on.

I got through book 5 I think and was actively reading them when the series first kicked off and still couldn't hardly follow it. I kinda look at it as a TV show loosely based on a book series with a fair amount of artistic license. The big concepts are there but the minutia isn't.

Warning for watchers of The Pitt - the latest episode shows a “live” birth in rather graphic detail.
Thank you for sealing the deal that I’ll never watch this show.
It’s actually a really good show. I think it’s one of the best out there right now.

It’s just one scene, so I was just giving a heads up for the faint at heart to avert their eyes when the pregnant lady starts going into labor in this latest episode. I said a surprised “oh, they’re actually going to show it” to my wife and she just laughed at my squeamishness since she used to be a L&D nurse.

Yeah it’s a really good show but I remember doing the birthing classes with my wife and watching videos where it looked like someone was dumping out a pan of stuffed cabbage so I’ll try to avert my eyes for that part

This reminds me that St. Patrick's Day is coming up.

Oh, I'm sure it is. I just suffer from a mild but noticeable case of trypanophobia where I get literally ill even watching a simulated medical procedure.

Yeah there’s a decent amount of blood throughout.

It's basically the opening of flesh by metal (scalpel, needle, knife) that gets me. Also don't love seeing body cavities opened up, either. One of the few silver linings for me being unable to conceive a child is that I have not nor now will ever witness a live birth and I'm good with that.

Yeah stay away.

Pitt is my top show and I would recommend it to anyone. Noah Wyle is going to win awards. But there is a ton of flesh being opened by metal.

I am on book thirteen for the third go around. Want no part of that show after trying it. But it's probably easier for non book peeps as always.

My biggest issue in the first couple of eps was actually the casting. It just felt all wrong.

Wheel of Time related. My kids were interested (and surprisingly the wife) so we watched the episode 1 and 2 of season 1 tonight. Guess I will just rewatch the whole thing with them and catch season 3 sometime in the fall probably :kicksrock:

Anyone watching Extracted where people are left out in the wilderness and they have a team of relatives who have to decide when to bring them back? I've watched a few episodes. Not much on reality TV any more but this is a nice twist.
Started it up. Hard to believe that one turned into a cannibal after only 2 days.

A few minutes into Ep 2.

3 possible immediate 'easy outs' or they would like to seem.
- 1 girl just sits there saying she thought it would be on a beach with others. No shelter, no effort, and upset she has to go to the waterfront for free supplies. Friends knew it was a lost cause going in. Thought she would have been the first to go, but was wrong.
- Dude that just laid there exhausted because he exerted energy sitting down. No shelter. Drank up the lake water unboiled because he was too wore out to build the fire. Shirt off and just laying around - going to get exposure if he doesn't throw up constantly and get pulled for dehydration.
- 18 year old 'model' talking tough going in, but is multi-millionaire QB Tony Banks' son - ie, spoiled. We just know that he was dying to brag to all his friends and social media that he's on a TV show. Lost his {bleep} over the smashed fishing wire and quit on himself immediately. Momma is going to lay into his ear about being disrespectful instead of thankful for everything he got in the supply crate (Yelling who's the idiot?? over and over - and it's his momma). Definitely edited in all the wrong lights as a clueless, immature, coddled, and angry young man. Sorry bud, no Xbox in the jungle. First to go.

Really surprised the producers let an 18 year old attempt it.
These are all amateurs and not camping for fun people. Nice set-up.

- One dude got a nice shelter in place, the envy of the control room. Went to work immediately.
- Lady that is going to get married to the outdoorsy family seems like one to root for. She wants to make an effort to fit in. Fire is not her friend yet.
- We already have our villain family looking to hoard supplies and screw over others for the $$. On day 1...

----

After Ep 5:
The game is not about survival, the weak ones are mostly gone.
The game has flipped on the family/friends at headquarters and puts them through mental/emotional tests against each other.

This is definitely not 'Alone'.
