Summer Concert Season - Who's on your list? (1 Viewer)

Here's my summer schedule wish list:

Parquet Courts 6/18

Peter Murphy 7/17

Belle & Sebastian w/ Blitzen Trapper 7/18

Flaming Lips 7/25

Frightened Rabbit 7/30

Dylan/Wilco/MMJ 8/1

Wavves 8/7

Kurt Vile 8/13

MGMT/Foxygen 9/5

Deerhunter 9/6

Neko Case 9/16
I've already purchased tickets to about half these shows. Probably won't make to all the others but I'm going to try.

Paul Weller coming to Philly in July!! Only 6 U. S. dates and we're lucky enough to host one of them.

A chance to see the legend!

Saw Royal Southern Brotherhood last week and have Government Mule, Moe. and David Byrne on deck for June. Also taking my wife to see Sting but not really looking forward to that one.

I live about six blocks from there but had no idea the Eagle was booking bands now. It's been a LGBT/leather bar forever until an ownership change last year. Should be an interesting venue.

Related to Segall, we saw Mikal Cronin last weekend at the Rickshaw. Fun show with a lot more energy live than on the album.

This past Saturday, we saw Mystery Jets play their only US club date on an off-day from supporting Mumfords on their US shed tour. Blaine was in strong voice and the current lineup is very strong. Their quieter Radlands material came across live a lot better than I expected.

Vegas -- Santana, Stones , er... Jersey Boys

Back to back to back Mother's Day weekend

San Diego -- Steely Dan, maybe Willie Nelson ($84 seats available)

LA Phil, late May, incredible seats, Dudamel conducts Mozart - Marriage of Figaro :violin:
Add:

Fleetwood Mac Staples on the 3rd

Two Wolftrap shows:

Doobies on the 5th

Carmina Burana on the 12

Still looking for company to go see Willie.

Probably have an extra ticket for Bruno Mars back at Staples on the 28th. My 14 year old is infatuated and he's legit, so maybe.

Scored a pair of Jack Johnson tickets for a show at the Fox Theater in Atlanta Oct 1st. Hes doing 20 or so small theater shows this fall, storytellers style. Rights to buy tickets was lottery style only, not available to the general public. Should be a cool show.

We saw him last night. Good stuff. And the opener (Shannon and the Clams) was better than expected. Cronin drew a nice crowd for a Wednesday night.

the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, and Bush tickets are secured...really hoping to see Queens of the Stone Age and/or Tomahawk as well.
All three of these delivered what I wanted. YYYs were raucous yet fun. Metric was an acoustic show that really let Emily Haines' voice shine. Bush ran through all the hits.

Next up: Jimmy Eat World at First Avenue. Still no QoTSA or Tomahawk...

About to head to Tampa for the 311/Sublime w Rome/Cypress Hill show. There will be a cloud above the amphitheater all night.

Will be seeing Farm Aid at SPAC in Sept. First time seeing any of these guys (Willie, Neil, etc).

Matchbox 20 this Sunday.
Did you lose a bet?
LOL actually, I really like them. Color me a wuss. Wife and I saw them 3 times this summer.
I'm actually going to see them next Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing them as they are Co-Headlinging this summer with the Goo Goo Dolls. I know both of these bands are know for the sappy radio hits but I can speak for the GGD's that they put on a good show.

One of the best summers show's I saw was back in 2004 and it involved the GGD's. They played in the worst rainstorm buffalo had in 50 years and never left the stage once even with lighting all around the steps of city hall. I was standing in knee deep of water because the sewer systems go clogged up with rain/trash. Unreal concert and was third row.

Mad rain storm

I almost went to that rainstorm Goo Goo Dolls show but passed because of the weather. I'm not a big GGD fan like a lot of people around here. Everyone I know who went to that show claims it was the best show they've ever seen.

Saw Bruno Mars earlier this week. He is a combo of Ricky Ricardo and Michael Jackson. He is a great showman and his band had a lot of energy too.The concert was short - about 1.5 hours but worth going to. Everyone had a great time. Very diverse group at that concert which speaks to his appeal. I will definitely go see him again when he comes back. Good time.

Terrific concert! Opening act Kate Earl is blah as she screams her way through one song. GGD is very good and I like their Visual display.

MB20 is awesome and the visuals are outstanding!

Both bands play full sets so be prepared for a long but enjoyable night!

Saw Nine Inch Nails last night on the opening date for the Tension 2013 tour at the XCel in St Paul. Although I'm really not all that familiar with Reznor's catalog, the show was great, both aurally and visually. Definitely well worth going if you get the opportunity.

I believe I will be going to see The Avett Brothers next week.I hear it is a good show but this will be my first time seeing them live.

Joe Satriani in Pittsburgh tonight with Steve Morse opening. and if you did not see Phish during their stellar summer tour and you are anywhere near a show this October, make the effort. they are 100% back.

Foo Fighters at Fenway July 18th locked in. If Grohl makes it that far with the bum leg, what a stud for even trying to stick out the tour dates. Pumped, first time to Fenway for me too, should be awesome and loud with all that said.

Sting and Peter Gabriel were awesome last night in Milwaukee.  Such a great format and energy.  If you have the chance to go, do so. You won't regret it.
