Summerpalooza VI: Return of the Rock Bands - And they say "He's in the Class A Team" (1 Viewer)

I mean "Elvis impersonator" in the nicest way possible. You have to admit that post-Misfits and Samhain, Glenn laid it on pretty thick with the baritone when it came to the group Danzig.

Which reminds me that the funniest moment I've ever had here came during a thread that David Dodds took out after tim criticized FBG projections. Dodds was pissed and ripped into tim and a thread followed suit with the funniest thing I'd ever read on the board. After about three pages of back and forth that was getting contentious, studsnduds chimed in with this gem. "I get that this might not be best time but david can you ask bob herbig if he's trade succop for birongas?"

I don't know why but LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I nearly spit what I was drinking all over the place.
No wonder Tim has so many posts if he was talking sh!t on FBG projections back in the day.

He also thought HRC was among the top 5 American politicians in a time when this site still had a politics forum. He was getting strafed from both sides. RIP timscoooonch.

15.10 - Kareem Hunt - RB - TBA

Ahmad Jamal - "Call Me"

For my last real player, I'll take a flyer on another RB. I've seen this movie before and know how it ends; I'll grow impatient with him and drop him the day before he signs somewhere.

"Call Me" was a big mid-60s Pop hit for Petulia Clark. Pianist Ahmad Jamal renders it almost unrecognizable in this up tempo live recording from 1968.

if you didn't slather the Bijan mustard

By the way, I juuuuuust got this. After reading it about five times going, "What the **** is he riffing on about mustard?"

As always, it took me a bit to see clearly, but now that I'm there, I love it.

Bijan mustard. Perfect.

Ben Riley's Monk Legacy Septet - "Bemsha Swing"

Kicks in a dome and is the frontrunner for a job with a high powered offense (according to otb_liver and ilov80s).

Ben Riley was the drummer for Thelonious Monk's last great quartet in the mid-60s. He leads a pianoless septet in a set of Monk songs on this 2006 recording. It's a cool album; Riley swings like mad and the large group arrangements add some colors Monk's idiosyncratic chords progressions.

Thanks especially to every who has kept the sheet up to date. Yahoo is up to date save for the last few picks, so I should be able to flip the switch shortly after we finish.

And perfect timing because in 45 minutes I'm off for a week of vacation 🍻
Yahoo tells me I need to remind you to start the draft timer.
