Summerpalooza VI: Return of the Rock Bands - And they say "He's in the Class A Team" (1 Viewer)

First thing I think of when I see his name, actually.

Fine. Here's a real original one:

Fugazi - Waiting Room

Or any million of the other bands we've picked from D.C. before. See! They're from D.C.!

YMMV

lol

I'm also editing these as I go. I wouldn't judge content or tone too quickly here. There is no id. I'm just doing a million things today and trying to keep up with all of them so that you can all select away merrily. What you see isn't a finished product nor indicative of finalized thought. It's all a work in progress.

They were both supposed to be tenuous connections, much like the mid-round picks with their QBs. We shall see.

Nice pick, was hoping he would make it back to me. He's probably got a useful role even if Walker is healthy and if Walker isn't, he could be a weekly must start.

Pick 7.8 Antonio Gibson RB Washington Commanders

Song

One of the most beautiful songs ever written (imo) is Something by George Harrison and his backup band. He played a Gibson 1957 Les Paul Standard on the Abbey Road recording.

"George ended up re-recording his finest break on his greatest song, just to change the tone. He replaced his earlier solo using ‘Lucy’, a Goldtop refinished in Cherry and previously owned by friend Clapton, and then John Sebastian and Rick Derringer before him. Harrison played the famous solo through an unspecified Fender amp." https://www.musicradar.com/news/best-les-paul-tones-of-all-time

7.11 Skyyyyyyyy Moore, WR, KC

Glorious Sons - Closer to the Sky

Also a post - hype sleeper in a good offense

I think this song may be about drugs

Eyes wide open, pupils like dimes
Mama's little boy is on the ride of his life and it's alright
Mind over body, body over mind
Really doesn't matter if you can't tell the stars from the streetlights
Lying on your back by the sewer grate
Kisses on your face from the neon rain there's no pain
Clench your jaw tingle your spine
To the moon Jackie we got time, it's alright

7.12 WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba SEA

Fade - Kanye West, Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign JSN originally from Dallas as is Post Malone

@Ilov80s
I had JSN (and Gabe) on my list here with Skyy but didn't really want to double up on WR on the same team, which I would have been doing in each instance.

Yeah I now have DK and JSN. Just felt like he was too good a value to pass up, even while acknowledging there is some downside in doubling up like that.

Yep. I have Minnesota's WR's. Go, Vikings!

Brandin Cooks

8.04 - Brandin Cooks - WR - Cowboys

The George Benson Quartet - "The Cooker"

Dallas seems like a good landing spot for a high floor veteran like Cooks.

Before his unlikely crossover success in the 70s, George Benson was a talented guitarist from the Wes Montgomery school. "The Cooker" is an up-tempo flag waver credited to Benson's mid-60s quartet in spite of the fact there are obviously five instruments playing on it. That's the kind of attention to detail you expect from a Mike McCarthy team.

Quentin Johnston, WR - El Lay Supah Chahhhhrjuhhrs

pretty raw, but they knew that and took him in the 1st rd anyways - physical freak, tossed into a revitalized, explosive offense with Kellen Moore calling the shots ... gonna be some downfield fireworks, folks - kid like this needs a slinger with a Howitzer - we got Herbie - we goodt.

L.A.'s own ...

Black Flag - Six Pack

6 pts per td, etc ... pretty clever, no? 🤔
