Summerpalooza VII Music/Football Draft - Congratulations Three-Time Leeg Champ Eephus (1 Viewer)

added Blake Grupe - K New O
The Breeders - Saints

Another close, disappointing loss 😞.
Your Monday night trio let you down, and we had some good luck with Mike Williams. He only played a handful of snaps with zero targets, and it was looking like a goose egg until a couple minutes left in the game. At the end of the game, Calvin Austin got hurt (he's ok), and so they sent Mike Williams out on the field. He had not yet practiced the route they wanted to do, but Russell Wilson told him where to lineup and where to go, and it ended up being a 32 yard touchdown. That is what the Steelers said. Anyway, we got lucky, and we won't rub in the win too much since you're our cellar feller. We'll all have drinks tonight in the cellar (you can fetch ours since you lost), and listen to some underground music. 🍻

Gus Edwards - RB - Chargers

Clark Terry - "Serenade to Bus Seat"

Clark Terry was a beloved figure in Jazz who played with just about everybody in a career spanning over 60 years. He's here on trumpet leading a quintet featuring Johnny Griffin on tenor and the rhythm section from Miles Davis' first great quintet (Kelly, Chambers & Jones).

Anthony Richardson - QB - Colts

Veronica Swift - "Everybody Has the Right to Be Wrong (At Least Once)"

I still believe in Anthony Richardson although probably not enough to start him.

Veronica Swift is a vocalist from a family of jazz musicians. The song is a standard by Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn that was performed by Sinatra and Bobby Darin.

Everybody has the right to be wrong at least once
Everybody has the right to be dunce-like, once-like
Not being too smart is, is no disgrace
What sets you apart is smilin' with egg on your face

Looking at all these pickups and I can’t help but think of this song.

Wishin’ and Hopin’ - Dusty Springfield

Heh. Good luck, errrybody. Who’s winning? Eephus?
Only speaking for the Pissahs, we are in 12th place with a 3-7 record. We started the year having bad luck with constantly having the most points against us. We were better than our record showed, but later became exactly what our record showed. We have lost three WRs for the season and a QB, and it's just been a rough season. We will play spoiler at this point. We ain't fading quietly!

The top 6 right now are...

1. NV - Haven't seen him pick up any songs, but he is making transactions.
2. Eephus
3. Dr. O
4. Larry
5. Don
6. Pip

Right behind this group in the playoff race is Doug, Mrs. R. and Marco. Sweet Cheetah has a slight chance.

Cool stuff! Thanks for taking the time to do a write-up, simey. :)

From the sounds of it I would have thought raging was in last place or something. LOL.

Well, he has the same record as us (3-7), but we are ranked above him, because we gave that weasel a mild a$$ whoopin' last week. I say mild, because we only beat him by a few points. He has had some bad luck in the injury department, and he finally has his first rounder McCaffrey back, but he needed him weeks ago. weasel can be a spoiler like us. Truey is in last place. He hasn't been active with songs, but he is still making transactions.

Oops. I misread your post. Don Quixote. I thought you busted protocol for a moment. Whoooops.

I see you’re keepin’ track of the song transactions. :)

Good on you for that. People, get yr songs in. (Unless you’re streaming defenses and kickers—then it’s forgivable.)

How are you doing in the Shining Path league?

5-5. 8th place. I had one bad start/sit decision cost me a game, but really my problem has been my receivers and my QB. I selected Anthony Richardson in the fifth or sixth as my QB and Michael Pittman and Deebo Samuel as WR1 and WR2 and that hasn’t worked out so well. (I waited on WR the year all of them are getting hurt). And my TE missed a ton of time (Engram). So a mediocre record. I have a running back room of Breece Hall, De’Von Achane, J.K. Dobbins, and traded for Tyrone Tracy, so there’s really no problem there. It’s rock solid. But the rest? Meh.

I lead the league in trades and transactions, however, and isn’t that the most important part?

Major props to Eephus on this week. Looks like I’m projected to be the 2nd highest scoring team this week, but Eephus on track to beat me by >50 points anyway. And could have been even greater if he started Taysom Hill. Quite the butt-kicking.

I usually don't check my fantasy team until the late games are underway. I saw a highlight of Taysom's big day and thought I'd made a mistake but then I checked the rest of my guys. Even Jerry Jeudy put up numbers.

Yeah, not quite last (11th) but have scored 70 less points than anyone else with 3rd most against. Have lost 3 by 6 or less including one to Eephus by .08 and probably another this week.
