**Sunday Night Football - Atlanta 8-7 at Washington 10-5**(-3.5, 46.5) 8:20 (2 Viewers)

Washington off a big comeback win over Philly
Letdown?
Penix looked o.k. last week
But it was against The Giants at home
This will be a tougher test
If Falcons can get their running game going they can make this a close game
If they can't Penix will have to make some plays
Hard to go against the home team in this one with playoff seeding on the line
I'll say...

Commies- 30
Raptors- 17

The weather has a chance to get un-good. The wind is supposed to get up (20-30 mph) and there's an opportunity for heavy rain during the game. I don't know how much work the new regime has put into that playing surface this year, but it has a history of being horrible even before it gets wet.

Atlanta's run attack should have a good game, but I think Washington will be able to do whatever the weather allows them to.

Commanders 26, Falcons 15.

I think Washington has a letdown, but I also think the Falcons are also just a better team, without Cousins holding them back. Cousins played 3 great games (TB, Dal, TB) and 1 great drive against Philly in week 2, beyond that, he's been a liability. I don't know how good Penix is (I personally had him QB6 in this year's class) but he gives the Falcons upside that Cousins didn't.

I think Atlanta can run on anyone. Tyler Allgeier would start on half the teams in the NFL, and Bijan is probably right there with guys like Henry/Barkley, he just splits more work. I also think the PA game to London and Mooney should be great against Washington's below average secondary.

I think the Commanders fall behind early, and are unable to run the ball (except with Daniels) and the Falcons need this game to make the playoffs.

Bold call maybe, but I think the Falcons win big
Falcons-34
Commanders-13

Penix’s first throw to Bijan had that Leftwich-like windup to it. Then he skipped one. Then that terrible pick. Not very reassuring when I need some Drake London numbers tonight.

Washington crowd is fired up. It’s a great fan base, so terrible what Snyder did to decimate that franchise for a quarter-century

Would love to see them become meaningful again, Daniels is legit

As the 2024 regular season winds down, Rivera made 33 draft selections in his four seasons (2020-23). Only G Sam Cosmi, RB Brian Robinson, and S Quan Martin are starters, And 23 of those 33 drafted players have been cut

Rooting for the Commanders is a lot like rooting for the Bucs. Flags extending drives. Bad Turnovers. Just not quite getting the little things right.

Was penalties. Ugh. Offsides on a FG results in a TD. Fowler PF extends another drive for TD. His third PF in 2 games. Dude is a beast but must be a dumb ***.

Commanders offense has done nothing. If not for that Penix pick, they might be being shutout right now. They need to get McLaurin going, as he's their playmaker/leader.

Could be in real trouble if Atlanta gets some more before the half.

Been about what I expected in the 1st half, Washington isn't as good as their record, and the Falcons are a lot better than their record.
