Tatum Bell Reports No Problems With The Toe (1 Viewer)

As a Tatum owner this is what I'll be paying close attention to all week. It was great to see him come back and look terrific last night but now we need to see if he really is healthy going forward. Based on his post-game comments that seems to be the case. The injury report on Wednesday should provide further answers:

"The toe is good; I'm back, man," Bell said.

Did he mention when he might score a TD?

We've seen Tatum talk positively about this injury before and that didn't turn out so well.

I'll defer to Marc on this one but TBell doesn't have a huge reservoir of credibility concerning his injuries. Marc, assuming he's healthy, what do you expect this week against SD?

Not after a game.
:lmao: Oh please. The guy will say anything to play. That's not to say he isn't fine, but he has no credibility in this.
I would agree with that for the most part. And Bell got into Shanahan's doghouse for not being as forthcoming about how injured he was prior to the Raiders' game. However, if you go back through the period after the Indy game when Bell was hurt, his comments were raising red flags all over the place. He admitted he was in a tremendous amount of pain and it was apparent from his comments that he was in real bad shape - which was the truth. Now he could just be saying positive things to mask a problem. That's certainly possible. But for whatever it's worth, when he said he was hurt his play reflected it and when he said last week he was feeling much better and ready to go his play reflected that as well. The next test will come Sunday at San Diego.

Bell is going to probably top 1,000 yards if he can start the ramaining 4 games...I tend to think Shanny will draft or sign a RB in the off season with the mindset of shaking up the backfield...not sure if TBell is in his long term plans. Would TBell thrive on any other team as much as he has in a mostly RBBC in Denver?

I would agree that the context is different, but until Shanahan comes out and says Tatum is starting I would temper my expectations. If he is healthy he should do fine in SD. Denver's D usually waits until the 4th quarter to cave so as long as Denver is in the game he will get a lot of touches. I wouldn't expect a M. Bell performance though as they are away and Castillo will likely be back.

Shanahan has already said Tatum is the guy if he's healthy. He said that a week or two ago. Bell was healthy last night and we definitely saw Shanahan's commitment to him. The question now is whether Tatum can stay healthy. If he can, he'll keep getting the carries because he's clearly been their best RB this season. Barring a setback in practice we really won't know until next Sunday is Tatum really did come out of this game OK as far as his injuries are concerned. But at least he sounds positive and given how he was sounding previously I'd view that as a plus.

I know. That was my point. Shanahan has to come out and say Tatum is healthy enough to start. Tatum saying it means very little.
