TE Kyle Pitts, ATL (4 Viewers)

I watched him jog on all his routes. Can't believe people blamed Arthur Smith.
That's probably a big reason why his snap share has gone down in favor of TEs that are actually willing blockers. This was supposed to be his year with Cousins in the fold, but natural ability won't carry you far if you're not fully committed to your craft.

So want to drop him in my keeper league, but the fear of him turning it around on someone else's roster is paralyzing me.

Had to throw him in this week with Otton on bye. Still managed to pull out a win thankfully, even after my opponent started Taysom (40+ pts) as his TE.

I know Denver Defense is stout but the Falcons got flat out whipped today. Hoping for a full team bounce back next week.

TE37 for week 11 with 1 game left

Chiefs, Saints and Vikings all had had 3 TEs each who outscored him
I wonder how many years have to pass before....you know....know what he is?
Standard protocol is 6 years minimum.
Not sure if you are joking or not. Probably can't throw a blanket on everyone. I said early on that I didn't like Pitts' route running, but there is more to it than that I think. He obviously is a liability blocking and that plays into failure, but that doesn't touch surface of his problems. In the passing game Pitts doesn't have the hands or toughness to handle linebackers who rough him up. The old regime wanted a more traditional TE who could in-line block, so we all thought the new regime would be good for Pitts. The problem with that, even though they installed a Sean McVay’s system, it doesn't work for long developing, deep tight end routes. The Rams used TE Tyler Higbee to great effect during the Rams’ Super Bowl run, but his ADOT was 5.3 during the 2021 championship season. The Rams had very similar offensive sensibilities to Arthur Smith’s Titans when it came to TE usage, needing strong in-line blockers to bolster the run game, then using them to make contested catches under the linebackers. Pitts’ ADOT this season is 8.5, the lowest of his career — and he’s shown an inability to make any impact in the receiving game as a result. Pitts is not comfortable making contested catches against players he doesn’t feel physically dominant against, and this is resulting in a lot of drops.

Stoerner was injured and missed a week and he didn't at all seem to step into more blocking and try to make something of it

Hoping the Falcons make the playoffs and Pitts has a few more strong performances so I can have some hope of trading him away this offseason. Unreliable.

yeah, I was a bit surprised but Cousins was teaching him how to high point a football as he didnt know how to do it.

given his height, you would think that would be the first thing he would have learned.... but then again, at his height, in HS and college he likely didnt need to jump. he just reached up and got it.

different story in the pros Im afraid....... but I still believe the talent is there. you just need to use it the right way.

This guy affected darn near everybody in fantasty football. If you at one point noticed what happened to him, you might have passed on Bowers, too, and look how that worked out. This guy was a unicorn all right. He's a flopicorn.

"Look, ma, an ostrich unicorn! How do I know he's a unicorn? What else is buried in that ground there with his head also near it??? Must be one of those there unicorns with his horn in the ground!"

I’ve never felt like I was so wrong on a single player in my entire life than I have been on him.

And yet I can’t quit him. :wall:

In the off-season after his rookie year, I traded for him in a SF, 2pt TE premium league on Jun 1, 2022:
I just gave up on him (and AR15) before the trade deadline this year on Dec 5, 2024 on the way to winning the championship:
So, good news, prepare for the bounce back next year!

I am thinking he has a return to value but not the 1st round rookie pick but maybe a TE4-6 level
I have been looking to see if he is a “buy low” consideration… offering mid-2nd as a start but who knows.

I traded the 1.01 for him years ago, so essentially Breece Hall lol. :suds:

I actually (under the influence of some drug) wrote @Don Quixote of this board in our league to thank him for trading up in front of me to take Pitts while some other dude fell to me. I didn't think it was inappropriate at the time, but it was in retrospect.

"Hah," you might laugh. "How cheeky. How funny! Who did you take after that had you so excited that somebody moved up for Pitts so that they would fall to you?!"

Oh, that would be none other than that other über stud, Javonte Williams.

:x

Think Don got the last laugh on that one if value has anything to say about it.

I know it's easy to joke about Kyle Pitts, but his career trajectory could be similar to Evan Engram's.

Promising rookie season with an aging veteran QB followed by injuries and poor QB play before a change of scenery.

Engram didn't fully break out until Year 6. Be patient.
Can we please get a welfare check on @david kluge
Would a go fund me account be cheaper? :)

Just read somewhere that the blocking TE was playing more snaps than Pitts in the latter part of last year.
I traded him for a third round pick so I guess I sold low. Used that pick to draft TeSlaa so I guess I bought high.
Got to take your swings.

His last 9 weeks he was 18-183 and 1 score. That is less than 5 points per week PPR.

This guy has single handily ruined 1 of my 2022 FFPC startup teams and I yet to recover from the epically horrific trade. Hate him with a passion.
