Will this Franchise ever do the right thing?

(These are just off the top of my head)

Trading Bly = WRONG

Wanting to trade Roy and Rogers = WRONG

Signing Mitchell = WRONG

Taking the wind in OT = WRONG

Not giving Barry Respect = WRONG

Drafting 4 WR in 3 years = WRONG

Letting Martz go = WRONG

Keeping Millen all these years even tho he sucks = WRONG

When the Ford (The real Crypt Keeper) keils over = RITE (Sorry but true)

Now name something they did right?

Well, they did fire Wayne Fontes after 4 5 6 7 8 9 seasons. :goodposting:

I've got a problem with the "Signing Mitchell" designation as wrong. Every team that needed a QB that year was fighting to sign that guy. They needed to make that move and actually did it. Worked for a couple of years, but you can't blame them for trying on that one.Edit to add: How in the hell did the Pat Swilling signing not work out for them? He was great before they signed him and then again after he left. :goodposting: :lmao:

Mitchell was a bum, he was that guy who did well for like 5 games the year that he "allegedlly" broke out....had no good track record.uhh ohh....are the lions going to go for Todd Collins now?

Trading Bly = WRONG

Bly and Rogers became cancers in the locker room and need to go. BUT the Lion inept organization is the main reason they became cancers.

Wanting to trade Roy and Rogers = WRONG

Roy is a free agent after next year and they feel he will walk (inept organization again) so they are trying to get something for him before he walks.

Signing Mitchell = WRONG

Signing him the first time, not so bad, re-signing him, stupid

Taking the wind in OT = WRONG

Not giving Barry Respect = WRONG

Drafting 4 WR in 3 years = WRONG

Letting Martz go = WRONG

Keeping Millen all these years even tho he sucks = WRONG

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! keeping Millen is a joke, he is the reason for most of the wrongs on your list

When the Ford (The real Crypt Keeper) keils over = RITE (Sorry but true)

Sad but true, nice guy to work for and the Lions have a world class facilities for games and practice, but they have no clue on how to win

Now name something they did right?

This has always been a tie between the Arizona Cardinals, the L.A. Clippers, and the Detroit Lions with a head nod to the Timberwolves for trying hard.

How about the Pittsburgh Pirates? Going for a record for most consecutive losing seasons in any sport. Thats hard to top (or should I say bottom :goodposting: )

they have the best stadium in the league....till The new Taj Mahal in Dallas is done
That's like saying the shoe maker is good because he has the best shoe boxes.
I'm in no way saying the stadium is going to win them a subpar bowl but the OP asked for something they did right.
That was funny as...well heck....shoe boxes, sheesh, lol......The Cardinals are at least trying to turn it around, they signed pretty big names (Edge and Warner) and have a nice young crop in Fitz, Leinart, and Boldin. Lions just suck.

Clippers....Hard to top the lakers in the same city, so they just seem to not pull it out. Lions are in a league with the bears and the packers....The Lions are noticed.

Minnesota T-wolves.....uhh.....has better Fishing....so Detroit wins cuz theirs nothing else to do.

Pittsburgh P-rats.....They have some pretty good history......The lions have the worst GM in History.....

VERDICT---------------------

LIONS SUCK!!!

The Cardinals are about to go stale because Fitz' contract is so crippling whatever way they go with it. So you can take them off of your list of being on the up and up.

They've won a championship I believe.WE ARE FAMILY! That was a great team. Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, Omar Mareno, Kent Tekulve (sp?), Billy Maddog Madlock....at least you had some glory years.

Not only that they gave up the rights to Willie Roaf to get Swillinggeez

This one is easy......they drafted Barry Sanders 3rd overall. Don't say it was a no brainer because Green Bay drafted Mandorich 2nd right before Barry. Barry and Farve would have been fun to see.

Any team involved with Isaih Thomas.
 The Knicks are worse than the Lions and it isn't close. Not only do the Knicks have one of the worst records in basketball, they also have the second-highest payroll (and were first for awhile), and they had the big embarassing sexual harassment lawsuit.

Actually they've won 5 but I thought we were talking about current management.

I'm all for insulting the Lions when we get a chance, but let's try to use facts here.Mitchell had one great year in Detroit and two good years, he was injured too often, but the signing itself was solid. Look at the 3 years he played the majority of the games. We can't predict injuries.

Mitchell = Matt Schaub; who doesn't like the signing for Houston right now?

This is one of those organizations that needs to start rebuilding again before their done rebuilding. They're young group of core players, ala Roy Williams, have become disenfranchised with the organization. The players are not buying in. The mistakes the Lions have made at that top end of the draft are going to haunt them for a number of years.

Ernie Sims seems like a solid pick so far.
Every team has at least 1 star on each side of the ball.
Thanks for the irrelevant comment. (You must be defining "star" loosely.)

The Lions have only ever had 1 star, Barry and maybe Herman Moore, and i'm talkin within the last 10 year,

Lions are no darn good

I saw something recently showing the list of players drafted immediately after the Lions over the last 7-8 years. They were all pro-bowlers, with the exception of one.

Is a good list, especially the last 4 out of 5. If I was drafting behind the Lions this year, I'd be excited.

Very much so. They suck.

A quick list of possible impact FAs

Faneca

Moss

Samuel

Turner

Z Thomas

Any of these names associated to Detroit? Nope.
