This is weird. Are you drunk?

Why would you ask for advise over a player not many people are even talking about?

you shouldnt have any problem getting him at the 1.13

settle down Peter Pan, count chocola?

edit to add: I’m a big fan of Kirk, I actually think he’s the best WR in this class. But still ... you can get him at 1.13 without being that weird guy, brah

He’s gone at 1.12 in all 3 of my drafts.

Downside: Lack of length, explosiveness and pure speed are concerning. Might never be a true downfield target in the NFL. Combine testing numbers — especially 3-cone drill, 20- and 60-yard shuttles, all in 20th percentile or lower — were very disappointing. Opted not to try to improve numbers at his pro day.

Might need a quarterback with great precision on his intermediate and downfield passes because of lack of great length, leaping ability or elite separation vs. taller and faster NFL DBs.

Player comp: Randall Cobb

Talking about him, good or bad, will just keep him in the forefront of other owner's minds, and is therefore the wrong strategy (Streisand Effect)

Talk up Moore, Ridley, and your favorite sleeper instead.  Make a big deal about how you hope James Washington (for instance) "makes it to you at 12."

If you're lucky, one of your rival owners will snatch Washington at 10-11 and try to gloat about stealing your guy.

Yeah, just do this instead.

Is this a princess bride tactic? You post over here you want Kirk, knowing they’ll read it here and then they pick Kirk- but they think that’s what you want them to think, so they take Washington, but you knew they would think what you thought they would think, and take Kirk. Inconceivable!!!!!’

It depends on the people in your league. I commish and two leagues, one with my family and one with my buddies. The one with my family I print out the most updated and closer to our league rules for the player rankings sheets. Most of them are casual football fans at best and it seems like a real POS move to do anything other than my best to help them.

The league with my buddies, everyone is trying to mess with each other. I try my best to find the most dated cheat sheets to hand out, that don’t reflect our league scoring. Maybe I make sure there’s too many beers and they need to get drank. There is a general rule that during the draft you let someone know if the player they are about to draft is hurt. However, this gets used against people too by announcing a minor injury hoping that someone passes on a player because of it. Conversation before the draft about players is at least 50% BS. It’s all part of the fun of the league.

If you’re league is good natured then I don’t see anything wrong with some pre-draft shenanigans as long as you aren’t malicious about it. I’d also suggest going back and edited your posts after the draft. And not actually getting into arguments (“discussions”) about Kirk. Just drop your fake 2 cents and leave it be.
