THE FBG Fashion Thread :style: (3 Viewers)

Thanks!  I was looking at FreshCleanTees and googled reviews before trying them and found this thread about the wholesaler they may be getting from and just marking up if you're interested in more.  May buy some through there and see how they are...

FCT Info on Reddit
grabbed 4 Next Level tees. they landed today.

for a little less than $5 shirt, i think i'm going to buy one of every color.  they are soft, but don't feel cheap. fit the way i like and are a good length.

they are slim fit so consider that if you're a rounder fella. and if you're a bit tall, these tees are a bit longer than say, Gap or something. slightly longer. not excessively so but worth checking out if you're a tall guy who runs in to the problem of shirts just barely making it past your belt line.

they are 60/40 cotton/poly blend. expecting to hang dry these like i do all my shirts.

for plain, solid color tees, these are a winner.

eta: looks like Lehigh's link goes to the reddit. this link will take you directly to the site (jiffyshirts.com).

they're also selling Bella + Canvas for $4 right now.

Bella + Canvas are definitely for the slimmer among us. I fluctuate greatly in weight, so I know how easy it is from moving from a L-XXL in that brand in a well-placed hurry.

Next Level shirts are good shirts. I have rock t-shirts that are Next Level, and they are indeed a little longer than your average shirt. I prefer 100% cotton, but that's just me.

I'm kinda broad/big shouldered to go with the 45yo beer drinking dude's belly.

I'm generally an XL in most shirts and XXL will be tent-ish around the middle. I've found XXL with B+C works great to give me a good fit up top while not billowing too much in the midsection.

Next level are damn good shirts too.

There are several brands making VERY comfortable, high-quality basic Tees and Vees these days for ~6-12. Good time for staples.

Hey Dude shoes?  Yay or nay.  I got a pair, I really like them.  Light, cool, and easy to slip on and off.  My feet down get sore in them much either.

not for me, but comfort is max priority for me these days. if they are comfortable to you then do it to it.

Not in here buddy. Serious fashion chat going on
today i paired 10 year old knee length swim trunks from Old Navy with a tech shirt i got from a race 13 years ago and some green tinted from mowing the lawn sneakers

wasn't sure if i should go mid-calf socks, or fold them over so i opted to go without.

these used to be worn by guys playing softball in the 70s and 80s.  same style. same basic material. just.. skin tight and a little shorter.

i'm guessing in person they look a little different, but i can't erase the association with my old man and his teammates wearing these all the time.
Clearly you've never tried them on.  I don't have the shorts, but I have a pair of pants I wear golfing.  Best material ever.  I won't defend the look of the shorts, but if I'm doing something active and don't want to look like a complete slob, I don't know of a better option.

not ever. i hadn't even seen them until icon linked them.

Went shopping for shirts I can wear untucked. Looked at several brands. UntuckIt, Bonobos etc. Untuckit was way better in my book. Bought 4 shirts. Some XL slim fits, others L but stretch fabric. I’m a fan.

Two brands started by non fashion people (MBAs iirc). I dont get either of them for style or fit, tbh.
Fair enough.  But I have plenty of shirts from fashion people (Robert Graham, etc) where to fit in the chest it comes down to the bottom of your ### when untucked.  Plus too much shirt.  Maybe the fashion people should have consulted with more MBAs.

Seriously.  Why not have better fitting clothes?  It sucks when things like sleeves are too short or too long.  Or other general misfits.  Custom fitting is brilliant and long overdue.  I actually haven't tried it yet, lol, but whatever the consensus here is will be my first.  I mean, how hard is it for one or the other to plug in recent trends and spit out custom shirts and ####?

I also can't believe more sox aren't left and right by now.  Great fitting quality sox are a joy.  Will take suggestions there as well, btw.  I use Keens and Nikes for the most part.

I think it depends... I'm team #longtorso with large shoulders, so so normal shirts land right for me (couple inches below beltline). The "untuckt" types end up being a belly shirt if I do anything at all... and nobody wants to see my belly.

RG is trash.  Leftover rubbish in the Nordstrom Rack bin.

All you guys complaining about better fitting clothes need to stop going cheap.  The boxy ill fitted stuff  is mainly meant for obese Americans, many which frequent this board and refuse to pay $200 for a shirt that will last you a lifetime.  All my designer stuff from the early 2000s still fit great because they're all slim fit (Paul Smith, Lindenberg, Vavartos, Tiger, Acme, T. Browne, Helmut Lang, etc).  They also last because they're not made in a Chinese factory with shoddy craftsmanship and material.  You get what you pay for lads.

First shirt I checked out on Paul Smith website was $495.  Yeah - I'll pass on that

So you are wearing shirts that are close to 20 years old?

On the weekends we camp.

Our older friends have adult kids that we tend to drink with.

I bought this shirt on Amazon, wear my red Patriots ball cap backwards, and I'm styling with the yoots...

If you replace the skateboard with a playmate cooler, this is literally me...

Juuuust in case someone doesn't have these links, these are my two favorite for finding out about sales.

https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/

Guys always post sales and deals and finds in there. But it's a realllly good resource for getting reviews of various brands. I cannot stand the Reddit interface, so clunky, but if you wanna fid geeks about a subject who will give the straight, non-sponsored info, it's great.

A much better resource for sales, IMO.

A lot of these sales are garbage, tho. Garbage outlets selling garbage cheaper than they normally do.
