The Inauguration (2 Viewers)

I don't think anyone thinks less of Trump based on the size of his inauguration crowd.  There may be a few who now think less of him based on his reaction - but nobody really cared about it until they started to make #### up....

Nothing was put out to embarrass him. It was a nothing observation about the inauguration. It only became a huge issue because Trump is so ####### petty that he took it to be someone challenging his greatness. The entire pathetic episode has embarrassed his press secretary, his main counselor and him. A nothing story turned into a massive flub because the guy can't handle anyone being in any way critical of him. Took ONE day in office to embarrass himself. It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so terrifying. What's going to happen when the real #### starts?

So how have those budgets turned out with the career politicians? 

In most of his holdings his company is a minority shareholder with investors which would require approval on all decisions and a board of directors. 

Did our previous POTUS have extensive experience in all these areas? Adapting would be required of anyone coming into their 1st term.

You're right, which it makes me question the motive of people posting those pictures.  Perhaps I have old school upbringing but it is not something I expect Walter Cronkite to report.

Evidently you aren't really sure what is a fact and what is an opinion, which isn't really too surprising in a Trumpkin. The policies and platform of the Republican Party the last two or three decades are facts, not opinions. Your orange messiah running a campaign completely counter to those policies economically and foreign policy wise is also a fact, not an opinion. You can believe anything that you want, but you don't get to make up your own version of history.

I don't know nor do I care if it was 500,000 people or 1.5 million people. That's a lot of people either way taking time out of their day to watch an inauguration. It's strange and absurd to pick this battle. Some of the cases the BLM rally around are absurd. And on and on. If everybody didn't act like five year olds and used some common sense we could actually have relevant conversations whether you're a Democrat, Republican, or neither.

The comparison picture clearly was to misrepresent that was the overall turnout. The pics Jambo posted show that's clearly not the case. It's petty. The media deserves to lose the credibility they have. 

I don't disagree with your comments on Trump, my issue is the media. My concern with Trump is if he gets to work and makes an effort to get things done. Jobs, economy, healthcare.

You make perfect sense.  What was the motivation of the people who published the photos?  Surely it was not to make people feel good about the event.  I do not point out the baby looks ugly when I congratulate someone on their newborns.

 
Crowd size mattered at Trump rallies, and mattered even more at his inauguration. 

You must understand that a narcissist is constantly needing attention and admiration and when it's not there, the insecurities are great.

And, the women's march was 3x the crowd. The best way for the narcissist to deal is to make up false truths. It's hard when you have photographic evidence, but it can be done. He's done a great job convincing people that he never made fun of a disabled journalist.

I have no problem with a comparison which shows the crowd from the same vantage point and right before the ceremony started.  Trump would not have complained if they had done this.

You nailed it, it's unfortunate. Their motive is the same as many in here to take any shot they can even when it misrepresents the truth if it fits their agenda. Media doing this deserves the backlash they are getting. 

 
This is hilarious.  Trump and Spicer was bad enough, but ya'll keeping this alive here is really entertaining.  Comparison pics like this of large crowds is very common-place.  And of course, if Trump was on the "winning" side of this, it would be splattered and discussed everywhere. But, yeah, there's an OBVIOUS motive.  Keep it up boys.

I am far from a Trumpkin. I am an anti political-correctnesskin. Just so happens that it's Trump. It could be Mickey Mouse for all I care so long as he was shoving political correctness up y'alls collective ###.

Here is my overall opinion:

There is conflict between Trump and the media that has been going on. Both sides have contributed to the problem. Some elements of the media jumped at the chance to try and embarrass Trump with "low turnout". He still had a lot of people show up, it's not like it was 1000 people or something silly. This isn't a classy move by the media. However, none of that excuses the petulant behavior of Trump with his whining at the CIA and sending Spence out to lie. This is one of the major reasons why I thought Trump was such a poor choice for POTUS. He is such an easy target for people that want get under his skin.

The most frustrating thing for me with Trump is that I have thought for awhile we needed a POTUS that was outside of the traditional party system and someone that turned away from rhetoric for honesty. Trump fit that bill, but in all the wrong ways IMO. I see the Yen is trading up and the dollar is down right now as investors are seeking safer havens than the dollar. The Asian market channels seemed concerned about the protectionist talk. I just worry how he might lash out or lie when he faces an actual crisis.

This is a small snapshot of his larger holdings but notice his fractional ownership on 1290 and affordable housing. Also condos is where board approval is typical. As a minority owner he's not getting anything through without getting investors on board. Some interesting info, seems to have raised serious $$$ from Chinese investors on multiple occasions. He supposedly has 560 businesses but not sure where to find details on all but on the deals where he doesn't own 51% plus he's is probably well versed in working together/kissing rear. Would be interesting to see that side of him.  :lol:
