I read the Dylan Jones' oral biography of Bowie at the start of shutdown. It was OK but the artist was an elusive subject even for people who were close to him. Last summer during my Dylan binge, I read a book about him going electric at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. It was interesting because I knew nothing about the early 60s Folk music boom.Anyone have any good recent music book recommendations?
I have Cowboys and Indies: The Epic History of the Record Industry in my queue but haven't found the opportunity for it.
Mrs. Eephus says the Johnny Marr and John Doe memoirs are good reads but too many books, not enough time.
Nice pick.
