This was a decent show but the lead actor is a horrible actor imo.
I disagree. He's one-dimensional, but it's the correct one for this role.
100% imo.

The other thing I did with my list was give a little “extra credit” to what I consider to be the epitome of a genre.

Not sure it would have made my top 70 but I definitely didn’t think about. I did enjoy the seasons so far. Hopefully they will do more.

Wow with this board I kinda thought this would be top 50. New season coming! Has to be one of the five best portrayals of a book to the screen I've ever seen.

ETA: not sure it's sci fi or fantasy or horror...maybe more Mystery? Or Procedural?
Really enjoy Reacher, just missed the cut
I am assuming this is the Amazon series that is relatively new. I like it but never thought of it as top 70 quality. It's a quick little binge each season that is entertaining.

Light shined on all the nerds around here.

it was the first time for many of us at that time to ever see the news media actually calling out some the weasels out there that were ripping us off.

it made us gleeful to watch them squirm when Mike Wallace continued to grill them in front of the camera.

He's so stiff and wooden in his delivery. I've seen him in other shows and the guy isn't an actor. He fits the part physically but I'd like the show better if the acting wasn't so bad.

I think Reacher had a really fun first season and then just terrible, terrible mess of a second season.

I hope the third season is better.
That is weird too. Usually the writers struggle to come up with plotlines(Gee...I don't know....Oh! I know! Let's make Gilligan take a blow to his head and now his head is an antenna for a radio!). However, the writers have a lot of source material to draw from due to the book series it is based on.

I'll always remember how it was constantly pushed back for the end of the Sunday Afternoon NFL game. Probably pissed off those who tuned in just for 60 Minutes and had to wait.

I’m just surprised that @John Maddens Lunchbox is doing a Batman theme in the MAD Theme draft, but did not have Batman here.
I had it at #92 out of 93 shows i ranked.
Its fun and all, but its pants really.
The only show I ranked lower was Sliders.

Really enjoyed Fringe. Yeah it went a little off the rails at times, but I thought it did a really good job of telling a story in a multiverse and had some really good characters.
It was the multiverse before the multiverse was cool.
Or beaten into the ground.

First full series DVD set I ever owned. I believe I have watched it at least 20 times end to end. Yet ANOTHER TV show that went at least 1 season too long and lost the driving character but wanted more money anyway.

Relationships, hilarity, great soundtrack, and the birth of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' lifelong relationship and stardoms!

Enjoyed 70’s show but somewhat distracting to watch now given the controversy with the actors.

ETA: and I normally don’t say that as there’s lots of a-holes in television but this one is kind of overt

Pants is something good right? :oldunsure: Since I was the high voter on the show at #39, I'll testify for the defense.

It's mostly a nostalgia pick; Batman is the second show (after Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (unranked)) I can remember watching as a kid. I distinctly remember being upset when my pre-communion class conflicted with one of the nights it was on.

As a child, I liked the action and preposterous cliffhangers which I analyzed with my friends at Fairview elementary school during recess. When I re-watched as an adult, I appreciated the campiness, casting choices and pop art visuals with bright colors, dutch angles and superimposed fight sounds. The show fell off in the third season with one-parters featuring Batgirl but for a while it represented the zeitgeist of the mid-60 as well as any show from that era.

So true! If they hadn't gotten together, they might not have written letters in support of Danny Masterson.

(Seriously, though, the show was entertaining enough; no need to celebrate that coupling)

Enjoyed 70’s show but somewhat distracting to watch now given the controversy with the actors.

Particularly when you have someone convicted of rape in real-life in a show with a lot of sex jokes.

I'm guessing you didn't vote for anything with Bill Cosby in it?

I did not. Not directly because of that — nothing with him in it even crossed my mind to include.

Started watching this a few years ago and stopped about a season and a half in. Got sidetracked but totally loved it - have to go back to it.

I think I would have still voted for 70’s show if I thought that highly of it. Don’t want to spotlight but I wouldn’t and didn’t vote for the show you are most likely referring to.

Part of the appeal is that we now know that Adam West and Burt Ward were banging groupies before, during and after filming every day during the show's run. Some of the stories are as campy and extraordinary as the show was.

Fat Albert wasn’t that controversial.

Never watched this, but one of the actresses from it was a local in our community who had some trouble during her short life :frown:

I somehow doubt that was exclusive to the caped crusaders.

It didn’t make my list but I’ve watched it in reruns and then all the way through on streaming. It is a really good show - but I just had a lot of sitcoms higher.
