The fact that they're winning without him says very little about Richardson himself. It does speak the value of RBs in general though IMO -- pretty much the least valuable position on the field right now IMO.
Right, tell that to Vikings fans last year. Think they make it to the playoffs without Peterson? Let's just be honest, the position is valuable if you have a stud there. If not, of course it isn't as valuable. For the teams without Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees and a couple others, the running game can be very valuable. The fact that they're winning without him says very little about Richardson himself. Disagree. Given a strong o line and a bunch of cheap committee guys excelling in specific roles, IMO an NFL team can get great production out of the position.Right, tell that to Vikings fans last year. Richardson hasn't shown a whole lot of real value to the Browns and honestly hasn't shown a lot to the Colts yet, that is why you can make that statement, but to say that RBs are the least valuable position is kind of silly. It is pretty team specific and player specific to decide if it is
valuable or not.
Can't you say the same about any position?Disagree. A true generational talent like Peterson obviously changes the equation, but a player like that is so rare that no one should plan on seeing another one anytime soon.
His 2.9 YPC in his previous games with Indy is looking pretty good right now.How bad does this guy suck? Good lord...

Not like a 1st round pick. 3.1 is nothing to celebrate. How's he look now?
The colts would be 4-1 if they gave Willis Mcgahee a call and saved themselves a draft pick. How about now? You guys are sad critiquing every rush. The Colts are 4-1 and have beaten great teams. His NFL value is worth a lot.
If you drafted him![]()
Otherwise, give it a rest.
Come on now. He's sucked so far. Exactly what is he giving the Colts this year that Vick Ballard didn't provide last year? How about now? You guys are sad critiquing every rush. The Colts are 4-1 and have beaten great teams. His NFL value is worth a lot.

He's running like a 190lb #####. He gets the handoff, and either tries some ridiculous little jump cut or side step instead of exploding like a 230lb tank. Guy needs to watch tape of his counterpart from today Lynch....follow his game.Having not watched him play much in the NFL, what trait is he lacking at the NFL level? On tape at Bama, this guy was a sure fire stud. Most considered him the surest thing since adrien peterson.
Not really. Without the trade, the Colts would still be 2-0 and they'd have a 1st-rounder next season. Both teams 2-0 post trade. Win win it appears.

With just Donald Brown today I think he does something bone-headed that make them lose the game.Raider Nation said:Not really. Without the trade, the Colts would still be 2-0 and they'd have a 1st-rounder next season.jurb26 said:Both teams 2-0 post trade. Win win it appears.
Why would there ever be a scenario where a team has "just Donald Brown?" They wouldn't have replaced Bradshaw with another RB?With just Donald Brown today I think he does something bone-headed that make them lose the game.Raider Nation said:Not really. No idea, specifically. But there would never be a game plan which included giving Donald Brown every carry. With who?Why would there ever be a scenario where a team has "just Donald Brown?" Burst and vision. He's can't break runs at this level. Or hasn't shown that he can, at least.Alluro said:Having not watched him play much in the NFL, what trait is he lacking at the NFL level? I'd add patience to the list as well. In college the holes were always there for him and he never had to develop any patience. Now, you see him just put his head down once he gets the ball and run at where he thinks the hole should be, instead of waiting for a hole to open.Burst and vision. I am honestly pretty shocked. I thought he was bust proof. His career is far from over and he could turn it around. But he's clearly not bust proof.
Rice had also had 2 TD's. McCoy had 1. Rice and McCoy both had receiving yards and 6 receptions each.No doubt TRich is under performing, but so are other RB's.
Today
Rice. 27 for 74 yds
Miller. 7 for 15 yds
P Thomas 19 for 36 yds
Bush. 13 for 44 yds
CJ2K. 10 for 17 yds
McCoy. 20 for 46 yds
MJD. 17 for 70 yds
Time will tell. Very few RB's are doing well every week.
I think the most surprising thing that he doesn't break tackles. He was such a bull to bring down at Bama.I'd add patience to the list as well. Lacy is looking like the best of the bunch.I am beginning to see a pattern with Bama RBs. Dare I say a lot of their success is due to the big uglies upfront being so much better than other college teams? Neither Ingram or TRich gas had the same success at the NFL level.

He has zero explosion. He breaks tackles but doesn't get very far. His career long is 32 yards... had his longest run of the season today (16).Alluro said:Having not watched him play much in the NFL, what trait is he lacking at the NFL level? They also took a massive $10M cap hit. The Browns are paying just $400k less for McGahee than Trent this year. And the Browns, who've become incredibly compelling since the trade, got a 1st-round pick for him.
