There's one guy I feel really sorry for (1 Viewer)

Amani Toomer and Michael Strahan were amazing tonight. How did Strahan NOT get MVP? I'm most excited for Eli and Coughlin. If you're them , how do you resist not walking around Manhattan and Jersey with both middles up? Seriously. I've never seen a guy as hated so early in his career as Eli.
Gotta give the entire d-line the MVP there.

Come on now, I know Giants fans are pretty high right now, but Seau always appeared to be a class act to me, lets show some class...
I'm pretty sure there are few if any Giants fans in this thread. They're out celebrating. This is the pile on the Pats thread.Congrats on your big win. Enjoy it!

I don't like the whole "un-retire and play for a different team thing"; so I'm pretty happy his team lost.

Why feel sorry for a guy who was celebrating victory with 2:24 left on the clock? You'd think Seau is experienced enough to know that NFL QB's can pull off game-winning drives with even less time. His premature celebrating showed his lack of class and his disrespect for Eli Manning's ability. Seau, no ring for you!

In order for Seau to have his ring, Strahan doesn't get one, and Moss does. :lmao:

Junior has had a charmed life, a great career. I hope he sticks around another year.

Touche`!"hey ########...60 min to a footgame, sport---those dunnies thought they'd got out there and swat down a couple errant passes and it'd be over...Ha! :lmao:

I guess I have a different opinion of Seau than most people. He might be my least favorite player in the entire NFL. I'm quite pleased to see him not get a ring.

In all fairness, I have never like Junior Seau, so it is not like I dislike him just because he is a Patriot. I have never liked the way he celebrates every play he makes like it is the best play ever.

Ummm... so players aren't allowed to celebrate any play at any point during an entire game until the clock reads 0:00? Seau wasn't celebrating a victory, he was celebrating the fact that his team just scored the go-ahead TD. Personally, I think that's an event worth celebrating if ever there was one.

Yeah I'm all broke up about a guy way past his prime who has no effect on the game hanging on to win a ring.
You either watched zero Pats games or you don't know what you're talking about. Seau was big for the Pats this year.
Seau goes for the gusto. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sure he'll make some big plays but how did he look when he bit on Eli's playfake..opening up a perfect passing lane for Tyree to catch a TD pass?Seau plays for Seau...always has. I agree with the general sentiment in this thread - no soup for you Seau!

I used to like Seau, even when he merc'd out to the Dolphins. However I looked at it as a guy that loved the game and couldn't give it up. However, when he gave his "graduation" speech and San Diego gave him a nice retirement ceremoney, THEN he mercs out to the P*tr**ts, is probably on roids with his boy Harrison, well... he's not the guy that I thought he was.

How do you know what he was celebrating? Maybe Bruschi was saying " I told ya we'd get you one" and juniors response was , I cant believe it ..thank you. :hangover: :missing: :toilet: ...DOH!

:goodposting: His rapid "unretirement" has always bothered me. He was ready to hang it up, got the recognition from the Chargers, and then comes back to play (at least) 2 more seasons? In a way, it seemed disrespectful. He's entitled to change his mind, certainly, but I don't mind one bit seeing him fall short of a ring again.

The Patriots called him after his retirement. If you retired and someone called you up, said they'd pay you a good amount to join a company for 2-3 years and have an actual chance at gaining the only thing missing from your storied career, you're saying you'd turn it down? Those who are saying he merc'd out don't know what they are talking about. He was done (no point in prolonging suffering in Miami and SD wasn't going to have him back) but a top flight organization offered him a dream last chance. Every single one of you and every single player would take that opportunity. As for the 'roids, that's a completely ridiculous and baseless accusation. Especially since Harrison took PEDs while on the Patriots (probably got them from Suerbrun) which makes all his Pats buddies much more suspect than any old Charger buddy.Just because he pumps his fists after big plays he doesn't deserve a ring? He's the only positive thing I would've taken out of a Patriots' win.

Those who are saying those who are saying he merc'd out don't know what they are talking about. You don't do what Seau did with SD during his retirement if you aren't sure you are done. If he wanted to hang on and see if another team would pick him up, fine. He didn't have to put on a bull#### show for anyone.

Junior Seau.
Junior Seau is a punk and talks way too much trash on the field. He graduated already so I'm okay with him not winning the big game...again. I'm glad he was able to hug Teddy before the Giants marched in for the winning score. :Tear:

I can understand not caring if Junior gets his ring or not but anyone saying that he was not an impact player on that defense was not watching the games.

He was fourth on the team in tackles with 73, mind you Bruschi led the team with 92 (Thomas 79, Vrabel 77 and I'll be Junior logged fewer snaps than all three of these guys) and he was tied for 2nd with 3 INTs.

Of course he isn't the player he used to be, he is 39 years old for goodness sake, but he still has a nose for the ball and made an impact this season.

And if Junior is so replacable on this defense then why could the Patriots not find a guy who is younger and can do the job better for less money? I mean the guy is 39 years old, how hard could it be to find a replacement for a broke down legend?

Explain this. Seau was cut outright by the Chargers. What would have been the noble path for him to take at that point?
:lmao: All of the the geniouses in this thread hate the guy for getting another job after being downsized
:lmao: All of this would make a lot more sense if Seau had been cut by the Chargers and signed by the Dolphins.

Chargers trade Seau - Apr 16, 2003

By Bill Johnston, Chargers Public Relations

The San Diego Chargers have traded linebacker Junior Seau to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed choice in the 2004 NFL Draft, the team announced on Wednesday.

“We had two objectives from the start,” said Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer. “Most important, we gave Junior a voice in the process and helped him settle with a team of his choice. We also acquired value for the Chargers in the form of a draft selection for the future. In my mind, we accomplished our goals.

What is your point? Bottom line is that Junior did not leave as a free agent, the Chargers were done with him and tried to get some value for him before cutting him. It was a solid that they kept him involved in the process.

I guess I'm having a hard time interpreting where he "merc'd out" to the Dolphins. Could you highlight that for me?

Um, retire with dignity?Old man Seau stunk (particularly in the 4th quarter) on Sunday. He is one of the main reasons why the Patriots lost.
So, knowing that he might have a bad game last Sunday, he should have retired five years ago? Somehow I am still confused by this.
