Now that I have a dog, the answer is more clear.

Now that I have a dog, the answer is more clear.
I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. I don't think its even close, and I can't comprehend it at all.
Honestly.....forget about strangers for a second, there are people that I know who would drown if it came down between them and any one of my three dogs......I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. I don't think its even close, and I can't comprehend it at all.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnd here we go again!!!It's fishing dude. Of course no one saves a mutt over a human being. But it's fun to say you would. It's all schtick, so let's not start the bitefest again...I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. I don't think its even close, and I can't comprehend it at all.
Let's put a human and a dog in a pond and I'll prove to you that I'm not fishing.Annnnnnnnnnnnnd here we go again!!!It's fishing dude. Of course no one saves a mutt over a human being. But it's fun to say you would. It's all schtick, so let's not start the bitefest again...I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. I don't think its even close, and I can't comprehend it at all.
And to add insult to injury, from the story:
Buster survived, but later was put down because he was in such bad shape.
I may fish occasionally around here, but I promise you I'm not fishing here. I save my dog, and it's a pretty easy decision.Annnnnnnnnnnnnd here we go again!!!It's fishing dude. Of course no one saves a mutt over a human being. But it's fun to say you would. It's all schtick, so let's not start the bitefest again...I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. And your point is?An animal is an animal regardless of what species or how close you are to it. A person is a person regardless of what species or how much you do not know them.
Exactly!!!! That just makes it easier to save my dog. Most people are EFFIN' DOUCHBAGS......An animal is an animal regardless of what species or how close you are to it. A person is a person regardless of what species or how much you do not know them.
FOR THE LAST TIME.......IT'S NOT FISHING. I WOULD SAVE MY DOG AND IT'S NOT EVEN A DIFFICULT DECISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Annnnnnnnnnnnnd here we go again!!!It's fishing dude. I'd save my dog, because its a family member. Animal or not, its still like a son to me.
Besides, the only person who would think I'm a jackleg for choosing the dog would have drown while cursing me out.
Yes.......100% sure my dog lives.I love dogs. I can't remember a time when I didn't have a dog that was part of our family. Mostly big dogs and always dogs that stay inside with us.
But I can't imagine not saving a human over any of those dogs.
I'm guessing this is one of those reality doesn't equal internet things. Where it's cool to say the "people suck" yada yada thing.
Can any of you that said you'd save the dog really say you'd let the person drown so you could save your dog?
If so, wow.
J
If there was a pedophile drowning, I think it'd be pretty easy to choose the dog (for most). If that's true, then there's a continuum for most people where there would be a choice. Meaning scum of the earth on one end, and the person you love the most in the world on the other. At some point you would opt to save the person over the animal but there are certainly many situations where you'd save the dog first.I love dogs. I can't remember a time when I didn't have a dog that was part of our family. Mostly big dogs and always dogs that stay inside with us.

See, isn't this fun? Queue JB and his whole condescending "you hide behind screen names" rhetoric. We might as well go full circle with this...FOR THE LAST TIME.......IT'S NOT FISHING. My dog everytime. This question was posed to me a while back and I answered, without hesitation, that I would save my dog before I saved the stranger. I'm 100 % comfortable with my answer, but I've heard many people give the opposite response. Personally I see no right or wrong answer. Any thoughts?
You serious? I just don't get it I guess. I would rather own a dog for many years and watch him die the most horrible and painful death possible than be responsible for any innocent human's death.Honestly.....forget about strangers for a second, there are people that I know who would drown if it came down between them and any one of my three dogs......I still am completely shocked that anyone would ever save an animal over a human. This is like the 10th time you've said this in this thread. Yes, I imagine people are being serious. You serious?

I wish it were but these guys are starting to convince me they're telling the truth. It's just sad. :(Annnnnnnnnnnnnd here we go again!!!It's fishing dude. So what was on Animal PLanet?I was watching the Amityville horror the other night and it got to the part where the babysitter died, I was pretty ho-hum. A few minutes later, the family dog was killed - instant channel change.
Is there one human alive that is more innocent than any dog alive? If you're saving the life of a living thing based innocence the dog would win every time, wouldn't it? This is a point I've brought up before. The planet Earth and all living things would benefit from the extinction of humans because we are easily the least innocent of all. Humans have done far more harm to the planet and all of it's living things than any other species. Thus, a dog's life is more valuable to this planet than a humans life from an objective, non-religous point of view. You serious? I just don't get it I guess. Yes.....100% serious. I don't see why I would be responsible for the strangers death. I didn't throw him in the water.......You serious? I just don't get it I guess. OF COURSE!!!!! EASY CHOICE.my dog > any ########
That's Kentucky for yaThe group went back in for the dog, but for Barclay, it was too late.
The most puzzling part of this whole ordeal is that the dog was a strong swimmer while Barclay was not. In addition to that, this all occured in a pond that, at its deepest is only 4 feet.
"Eric was gone when he got out of the water," O'Neal said.
If you have the chance to save someone but don't then you are indirectly responsible.Yes.....100% serious. I don't see why I would be responsible for the strangers death. I don't think its cruel at all. Its an animal. I certainly don't go out of my way to harm animals, but I really wouldn't care at all even if I was forced to watch one being tortured. Even if it were one that I knew. Its just an animal.NOW THAT'S CRUEL...................You serious? I just don't get it I guess. While I'm not playing along with the "let a human die" schtick, I'd say "wouldn't care at all" concerning watching an animal being tortured goes to silliness on the flip side.I don't think its cruel at all. Its an animal. I certainly don't go out of my way to harm animals, but I really wouldn't care at all even if I was forced to watch one being tortured. Even if it were one that I knew. So, what I'm gathering from this is that some of you would rather be responsible for any innocent human's death rather than watch your animal or animal being tortured? So, you have Fluffy, a dog that you have owned for a few years and have an emotional attachment. Joe Snuffy, a sick, twisted mofo is standing in front of you holding a 6 month old infant. You do not know the identity of this infant and Joe Snuffy also has a rope around Fluffy's neck. That's like serial killer sick....pretty sad/sick dude.I don't think its cruel at all. Its an animal. Joe Snuffy says, "Make your choice, I either torture and kill Fluffy, we'll start by swinging him around by his neck until he is on the verge of passing out, then we'll punt him like a football around the yard for a while before I decide to slowly choke him to death; or I snap the neck of this infant. I will hand one over to you right now, but the other one pays the price of your decision. The choice is yours."
What is your choice now? To save the life of your dog, or save the life of the unknown infant.
