Things that only Happen in Florida! (1 Viewer)

That link is really worth a click.
I hate you for posting this. That last paragraph, in particular, was vomit-worthy and heart-wrenching.

19 years in prison isn't enough. I usually don't condone prison justice, but here I'm hoping the guys inside take care of him.

Pretty sure they will.

A bad trip: Florida man calls 911, says he needs a ride to Hooters because his grandmother suffered a stroke. apne.ws/2sXruJk #odd

Well let me add one from personal experience.

My 25 year old neighbor lost control of her car and clean ran the F over my Mailbox.  The post it's self is a 3 inch concrete tube with a plastic sleeve and is anchored with a concrete doughnut 2-3 feet down.  You couldn't knock this thing over if you tried.

So she runs it over (after losing control in the pouring rain to be fair) and her car is sitting in my front yard.  After about 10-15 seconds she pulls forward through the rest of my grass back onto the street and keeps going to her driveway about 10 doors down....... where she gets out and walks into her house.

I walk over to where the post is and pick up the cover to the fog light and walk down to her driveway where i proceeded to take  bunch of pictures.... and what do you know the damage matches.

ended up calling the cops and she admitted to the whole thing.  It's been two days but still hasn't come by to apologize.  I just called Geico and filed a claim.

What a #####

There's a little more to it than that, but generally that's accurate.  No Stand Your Ground for him and a pending trial.
Yeah, IIRC the guy was texting so deserved eveything he got

:sarcasm: (in case you missed it :P  )

Bumping this thread always reminds me of the time an ex-cop shot a guy in the movie theater for talking.
That literally happened at the theater I frequent.  Whenever I see a movie I wonder if I'm in "the seat."  I'm also a little extra cautious when I've got my phone out while the show is about to start.

50-feet deep sinkhole swallows 2 homes this morning, on the northern edge of Tampa.

This is just a little north of me.  Nobody is mentioning that the landscape was significantly altered decades ago.  They are all just chalking it up to Pasco having a bunch of sinkholes.  They actually connected lake Padget to the smaller lake, and filled in a wetland.  Check out the Aerials.  You can also see the historical imagery.  Search keywords historical imagery University of Florida.

that last section with the house numbers reminded me of the "begat" section of the bible. I think it was intentional.
