Pretty amazing that after he wins this he's 3 wins shy of Sam Snead's career wins record -- and he's only 37 years old. He's got a ton of

l good golf left in him, and if he keeps winning

tournaments at even close to this clip, his career win number could end up being unbreakable.
Much like Jack's 18 majors won't be touched
Tiger's pretty close already, and again, he's only 37.
Let me know how much you want to wager on him breaking the record

Would be nice if he just got it over with next week and took down the PGA.

#1, six+ wins and a major in a calendar year would pretty much end the discussion about whether he ever got all the way "back."
but but but...people aren't afraid of him like they were...

"nostrafinless!!!"

To the morons yelling "Baba Booey" after every golfer hits a shot, Stop, you are a complete and utter foolish ### clown.

Boring, but very smart round for Tiger today. Par looked just fine with most of the rest of the top ten shooting +1s and 2s.

He missed so many 10+ footers by less than 8 inches or so, he could have easily been -3 or -4.

I've got one wager on that already. It's no secret I'm willing to bet on it.

Boy, how many times have we seen this? Tiger sucks it up in a major then comes out like a superstar the next time he plays. Maybe he's confused about which four are majors? Who's advising this clown?

I say a little prayer for himmmm...

Forever, and ever, he stays in my head

And I will hate him

Forever, and ever, we never will part

Oh, how I love you

Oh Tiger, oh Tiger, that's how it must be.

To live without you

Would only mean heartbreak for me

I think Kevin Costner had the same problem. How did they fix him in Tin Cup?

You sound like you know a lot about what it takes to win a Major.

Did I miss the PGA Championship today?
No, that's next week.

You missed Tiger beating the field by 7 strokes.*

*He actually beat Phil by 16 strokes, and Rory by 17.
Thanks, was confused by the excitement in here. Watching non-major golf ranks right up there with watching NASCAR so I really didn't miss anything.
But yet you just had to post in this thread today.

I'll make the same bet as well if he wants 2k of action.

I dont know, how many times? He finished tied for 6th in the British and tied for 4th in Masters this year. So I guess we are talking just once this year?

I liked the Charlie thing. I think that was all about wanting him to have the memory and not even a little bit about how it looked. He did nothing to play that up.

No big Mickelson family group hug for the cameras?

We had to sit coach for the flight in.

He needs to relax at the Majors - he just wants it too badly. And he does need to drive it better. Still can miss on either side, and that's not good. But his iron distances are to the yard, and his short game is SOOOOOO much better than the field. People take it for granted when he flops a chip to within 2 feet time and time again. I watched the field today and it was amazing how many times the left chips 10 feet short and then missed the putt. Tiger is better than ever now in that phase of the game. But I don't have any faith in his driving. If he can't hit it in the short stuff he will be a pretender at Oak Hill. Still the best player in the game - by miles.

This thread still has to be one of the worst predictions this board has ever seen.
All your rejoicing and trolling won't erase the fact that your boy hasn't won a major in OVER FIVE YEARS. So jump up and down and act like a giddy school girl because he, predictable, won another meaningless tournament. Tiger would trade all five of his wins this year if he could just get back to doing what he used to be able to do-win a major.

Finless was dead on. Nicklaus' record is safe, and the others don't fear Tiger like they used to. And your trolling has gotten worse as you've aged. You used to be a lot better at it. :bye:

Love this thread. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. I've seen this quote in several different wordings and attributed to many different people. This thread is a good example of the truth behind it.

"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence."

So you only watch the playoffs and the Superbowl and avoid the regular season? Outside of the 4 majors that are 10 or so events that are fantastic tournaments that all golf fans get excited for. So I'm guessing you don't know much about golf?

That's one way you can tell if somebody plays or not. Who cares what the event is; when you have 48 of the top 50 in the world playing for a bunch of money and Tiger is hitting it and putting like he is, you can't help but want to watch.

I found yesterday's final round pretty boring to watch though. Even the announcers were having a hard time selling it to the viewers.

Not sure it's been posted but the morning radio host mentioned that since Tiger turned pro in 1996 he has twelve tour wins by at least six strokes while the next golfer on the list only has two. Nice to see Tiger smack the field around once again.

Reminds me of the 18-0 Patriots. They were really killing teams that year, huh?

Reminds me more of the '85 Bears.

Yep. Historically, his final rounds when he's protecting a big lead are the least exciting of the four. He said after the round that it's a tough course to score low on but an easy one to shoot around even par.

Charlie Charlie Charlie Woods, y'all. This is pretty great.

Do they give out a trophy and $1.5M per player after each regular season win against the next best team in the league? Please stop dumbing up the thread.

The Bears won the Super Bowl. Tiger has already lost three this year.

Winning one Super Bowl to go with 5 other tour wins against top flight fields puts Woods back in the dominant category. No one wins them all.

I think it probably is a window into the difference between the two. Also saw a shot Saturday where he was walking by a camera between holes and everybody had their hands out and he ignored them like we are accustomed to seeing. Then as he was turning a corner out of sight put his hand out and slapped hands with people. That's something you never see him do on camera. He does not care about the camera and if anything it almost seems like he does the opposite of everything you see Phil doing. Definitely got the feeling that bringing Charlie out was a moment strictly between father and son. Everything else just a necessary nuisance.

I think if Tiger wins this weekend, then the tour is in trouble again. He has a bit of a head problem going on in majors because he's pressing so hard to get over that hurdle. He wins one and I honestly think it's game over for everyone on tour again. He's hitting his irons better than he ever has and better than I've ever seen anyone hit them. I watched him lean left or right and shake his head in disgust from 170 out a couple of times this weekend, only for the ball to land 15-20 feet left or right of the pin. That's just ridiculous. When everyone else misses with their irons they miss the green. TIger's misses means he has a longer putt. That's just not fair.

And yet, if winning the "little ones" is so easily diminished, why doesn't everyone win them with such frequency? And why is it suddenly so popular to cheapen these victories?
Because the media hype brings a lot of casual observers into the tent to watch, some of who don't know what they're looking at. And the internet gives them a venue to voice their opinion, no matter how stupid.
