Tiger Woods (3 Viewers)

I think he wants to be present for Lindsay for her comeback. The World Championships going on right now in her hometown is as big a deal to her as anything she'll experience in her career. He wants to be there. He probably still hasn't touched a club since Torrey. That's a new thing for him.

What's a new thing? Not touching a club? Because his lack of practice in recent years is well documented.

Just saying he's healthy enough to practice, is in the middle of the events he's historically used to get competitive rounds in, has a 12 alarm fire on his hands that could keep him from entering Honda for fear of further embarrassing himself, and he's still in Vail. That, to my knowledge, is unprecedented.

What has happened to this guy is akin to Pete Rose forgetting how to hit a baseball, Peyton Manning forgetting how to throw a football and Kobe Bryant forgetting how to shoot a basketball.

Kobe was already there this season.
:goodposting:

Tiger could only match Kobe's craptacular performance if he somehow got on the Ryder Cup team, demanded to play in every match-up possible, yelled at his teammates in their back-swing and play like he did at Scottsdale.

How long do people think Woods will really be out?
I think it would be silly of him to play in the Honda Classic in 2 weeks. Then he would miss the WGC, so you're looking at Bay Hill in a month.

That's my guess, but I have no idea what his advisors are saying.
Also, to do it "right", it could really take months because if he is truly injured, he has to first get his back and knees healthy, then work on his short game.

Back injuries and golf practice are pretty mutually exclusive.

Wtf happened to this guy? Was he on steroids during his period of dominance? Did the have testing back then? It's really glaring how he played at such a high level above everyone else and then suddenly crashed.
Herniated disc surgery isn't a cake walk and neither is the recovery. His disc is permanently broken, think of a bad shock in a car. That is what his disc is like now. I know I always think about what I am doing and how I do it so I don't wind up with nerve pain or back spasms both of which are not a picnic.

Suspended for a month?

A journeyman professional golfer who has spent time recently giving lessons and caddying said in a radio interview that Tiger Woods has been suspended for a month by the PGA Tour -- a claim that the tour and Woods' agent vehemently deny.Dan Olsen, 48, who last played on tour at the 2011 PGA Championship, told 730AM The Game in Lansing, Michigan, on Friday that "I heard he's on a month's suspension. ... It's kind of a strong witness. It's a credible person who is telling me this."

Both the PGA Tour and Tiger Woods' agent have emphatically denied claims that he has been suspended for a month by the tour.
Olsen backed off Monday, telling ESPN.com's Michael Collins that "it was only my opinion.""Everything I said on that radio interview was only my opinion and not based on any firsthand knowledge or facts," Olsen told ESPN.com. "I want to make a full retraction to everything I said for the entire radio interview, and I apologize to Tiger, Nike, Phil [Mickelson], [commissioner] Tim Finchem and the PGA Tour."

"It's not testosterone, but it's something else," Olsen told the station. "I think when it's all said and done, he's gonna surpass Lance Armstrong with infamy."

Olsen also talked about Woods using a "cheater ball," referring to the Nike golf ball he plays, and that those allegations were potentially more damaging than the suspension.

Odd ...sounds like he's saying "I retract my first unsubstantiated claim, but I'd like to throw a couple of new ones out there instead."

Did he retract or even back off? He's not exactly saying it's not true now, just sounds like he is trying to leave his contact out of it.

The rigged ball is an interesting new suggestion too...

Tiger not playing Bay Hill.

I bet he skips Augusta. I can't imagine he would tee it up there at this point and humiliate himself.

Yikes. Tough to watch.

You may be right, but I just can't see that. I think he at least gives it a shot. Even if he plays the first three holes 15 over, he can grimace, hold his back, and leave saying his glutes wouldn't activate or something. But at this point, I think he has to play every major.
