Exactly two of those finished in the top 3 today, and maybe 10 made the cut.

Your point?

You have no point..  :lmao:

SF,

Let me help you out here, guy.  "In the hunt" = in contention to win.  Not "will win."

Hoping this helps.

Weird to keep coming in here and celebrating that he didn't win.  Why don't we do that for every other guy who didn't win?
I am celebrating a great career.

In my mind the best golfer of all time - even if injuries and whores cost him the longevity of Jack.  Tiger was a better golfer at his peak.

But its over.  Nothing wrong in acknowledging that.

:lmao: He's tied for second at the moment in a major.  :lmao: at "it's over"

Oats -  people believing in unicorns is how we ended up with Trump.

Its time to wrap up your little fishing trip here, before it does more damage.

YIC,

Sinn

I supposed that we could have asked for him to not choke that drive on 17.
Is it a choke on the drive if he's been hitting all his drives exactly that poorly throughout the whole tourney?

Lots of terminology problems in here.  @Keith, can we add a glossary?

2nd place in a major.  "It's over."

This is the biggest hook I've seen in years.

Joe, please jettison this down to the politics subforum.

Then pull out the 3 wood and pressure with a birdie? This shouldn't be difficult for a guy that's won 14 majors, but he doesn't know how to catch the prey.

Thought that was a fairly genuine gesture by Tiger there congrats to Brooks.  Then he preps his driver for a shot as his girlfriend lol...

Sinn is fishing now.  But this is a classic forum maneuver.  He really believed in that last tourney when there was a lengthy debate about whether Tiger was "in the hunt" (he clearly was).  When that went south for him, he made the perfect pivot to jk I was just shticking all along

Sinn, was he in the hunt today?  Just making sure we are on the same page.
In the hunt?  No.

To be in the hunt you have to have a chance to win.  Tiger had no chance.  I think deep down you realize that.  Holding onto the past is a dangerous thing.  Let it go.  Live in the present.

Nobody begrudges Tiger's amazing career - I have already said - no shtick - I think he was the best golfer ever.  But, its over.  Its been over, but people keep holding onto the dream.  Its not healthy.

Oats - be honest - did you really think he had a chance to win - at any point today?

At any point would you have put money - even odds - that he was going to win?

Of course he did.
You're avoiding the question counselor.

At any time today, would you have bet money - even odds - that Tiger was going to win today?

ETA - there was no point today, where I thought Tiger was going to win.  I would have viewed any such bet as -EV

The Tiger boys will explode in this thread if he ever manages to win something again.  They've had a decade of watching him lose and it has to be frustrating for them.

Tiger was the betting favorite for a short period at the British Open, albeit not odds-on. He was never the favorite today, but got down to 3-1 on Bovada at one point.

I guess if one wants to cling to the fact that Tiger hasn't been an odds-on favorite at any point in time of the last two majors, well, I guess that's something. Not sure what the significance of it is, but yeah, it's true.
