Trouble getting pregnant? (2 Viewers)

I had the fellas tested twice. First time was low-normal and second time was normal.
Then came the big day and I only managed to produce 3.6M functional swimmers.
My wife's all excited, but all I can feel is a pit in my stomach. We've got a second round tomorrow and then it's the waiting game.
Any tips to increase numbers?

IIRC, the wife had me taking Maca root.
I also want to say that getting high (marijuana) was supposed to help... but can't remember if that was for the sperm or not.

Trying again.

Got our next attempted transfer date. 8/27.
First time though I was pretty frustrated with our doctor. He called us when we lost the baby la month ago but that call was understandly short. To talk to him again we had to schedule a month out. That date finally gets there and he's 105 minutes late to call (I had blocked off an hour at work and wound up having to do call from outside a courtroom in public). Starts with, "so, you guys have any questions?" Wtf!? Of course -- what happened?? My wife starts and the doctor gives a bunch of wishy washy answers. My wife is mainly trying to figure out what went wrong and how we can prevent that in the future. This goes in circles for awhile until I basically cross examine him. In short, 1. We don't know what went wrong it just doesn't work 20%-30% of the time; and 2. There's nothing proven that we could have done differently (I.e. Accupuncture, being more healthy, not traveling, etc is all useless). So, to borrow from dentist, we basically got a bad beat. That both a relief and incredibly frustrating.
I then get further annoyed when he explains we can do the next cycle... Which starts in two days. Wtf how about a little more of a heads up. So my wife and I had a night to decide. Which added more stress. Opted to wait one cycle.

Yeah, he normally has really good bedside manner so I'm trying to chalk this up to a bad day. But I found it incredible he didn't merely acknowledge the lost embryo/child (I wasn't looking for an apology or anything) and didn't at least acknowledge or apologize being so late for the phone conference.Quez said:
This has to be near the equivalent of a post-trial consult where my client lost at trial and now we have to discuss sentencing/what happens next. 1. I would never start out that consult, presumably after I was paid a bunch of money and the result was bad, with "so, got any questions?" I always acknowledge the poor result and discuss why it occurred (i.e. the jury just didn't believe our witness, I was disappointed the judge let in X evidence over my objection, etc.) and then launch into a plan of attack. 2. I would never dream of being so late. Even for people sitting in jail. And if I was, they'd get a call ahead of time from my assistant explaining why I needed to be late and an approximate time we can do it. Then I'd acknowledge, apologize, explain, and thank them for working with my schedule.
Frustrating.

Damn. Sorry to hear it Woz. Going through that is pretty terrible, as just about all of us know.
My wife and I both did acupuncture. It definitely helped reduce the stress levels and it was something we could both partake in, which is rare in these things. The only thing that came close was the intramuscular injections into her butt.
Anyway, do the acupuncture. It's like forced relaxation. Plus, I now have know I enjoy Tibetan singing bowls.

It was a long time ago, but we shoved four or five embryos in there every time. I know now the protocols are different.

Yeah our doctor has been adamant about doing one at a time. Most he said he'd do is two. Even after we lost the first one.

I apologize in advance because I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know how much adoption has been discussed.
The Cliff's Notes version of our adoption story was that we knew pretty early in our relationship that a biological child would be extremely unlikely, so we quickly decided to go the adoption route. Adoption certainly has its own challenges and setbacks, as well as a potentially substantial price tag. I couldn't be more pleased with our two adoptions and am happy to share any information or answer questions (by PM or in the thread).
