US Men's National Team (15 Viewers)

Pepi came off the bench late but still scored one. Very nicely timed run and pass

This is Pepi's 11th league goal in only 692 minutes.

He leads the team in league goals by 2.

The second place scorer has played almost twice as many minutes as Pepi and has 2 pk's to Pepi's 0.
I don't get why he isn't on the radar of some big clubs yet. I watched some of Chelsea today and there is zero chance I would pick Nicolas Jackson over Pepi as my striker. Watching Milan this year, there's no way he isn't a better option than Morata or Abraham either. He just has that natural scoring touch that good strikers seem to have.

Fwiw... He's been linked to a lot of clubs during the silly season-- seems more quiet now.

He's been fantastic this year (and last, tbh). I do always worry that his (and others) natural scoring touch is helped by Holland's sometimes invisible marking. It seems like Santi G is more likely for Milan (speaking of Holland).

But he's at that age and success rate where it certainly begs the question - stay and likely take over DeJongs spot full time, or leave and have to fight for a spot in a new place with no guarantees, but more chance to grow if it works out.

I don't think he needs to be in a hurry to move. It's a good spot for now. Cody Gakpo is a 1999 vs Pepi a 2003, so 4 years separate. Gakpo moved 2 years ago (in the winter window) meaning if Pepi moves on from PSV in 2 years - which is after the World Cup - he's on the same pathway.

Gakpo was rumored to lessor clubs (Leeds had a lot of interest) for a few years before the jump to Liverpool. But he waited at PSV until he was ready-ish for a big club. Joining a struggling club like Pepi did at Augsburg can be a recipe for a stall out to your career.

Great comp to gakpo, especially team and age. And also great point about destination - we were just talking about a US player getting linked to a relegation threatened EPL team with he 2nd lowest goals... That sounds like a recipe for disaster for a forward.

I like the 2 year plan, and hopefully he keeps this form up and has a solid world cup, which will lead to inevitable bigger opportunities.

Musah and CP appear to have gone 90 in a 3-2 win v Parma

Musah assist. CP goal.
Glad to see them play well, but I just don't understand their usage of CP. Two days ago there was a question of whether CP would even play in this game due to not being 100% and it only being Parma. Then he goes 90 while Leao is sat at halftime? Just crazy to me.

Maybe Leao was loafing and not interested again...

Watching Jedi get up and down that left side vs United was fun. He gets up and back so well. Something missing at United for sure.

Wanted to yell at the announcers for being overly harsh on his crosses. Yeah he had some bad ones early but he is 3rd in the league in assists and you are crushing him for an off day?
Then later in the game "he's got 9 assists, imagine how many he would have with better passes?" STFU. You can say that about any player.

As you guys know, Fotmob ranks every player for every game. It is a computer based evaluation rating numerous items that they then sum up into a game day rating for each player.

And it generally passes the eye test. The top rated players in the EPL for the entire season are Salah, Palmer, Saka, Isak, Haaland...

Jedi is the 8th highest rated player across the entire EPL. He is now in the conversation for top 5 LB's in the entire world at this point.

After reading through an article about Champions League qualifying scenarios, my USMNT takeaways are that Milan is the only team with Americans on it that has a realistic shot at the top eight (which would give an automatic spot in round of 16) and PSV is the only team with ANY chance of getting knocked out today (but it's almost impossible). Should be a fun day in any case, with up to 10 USMNT players active at the same time.

If you guys have not done so yet, make sure you check out some of the tweets and social media reports regarding the US soccer, MLS and NASL trial case.

It is both hilarious and heartbreaking because it shows just how much dysfunction there is in the sport still in the country.

This Rocco guy really seems to be a piece of work though holy hell. In open court he directly related Garber to Weinstein.

Tanner Tessman has won U.S. Soccer‘s young player of the year
I would have felt better about that before he got benched.
did he even crack the starting team to get benched? seemed like he transferred over and just immediately grabbed a perma-spot on the pine.
I think he got plenty of playing time for the first month or two
he did start a game a couple of weeks ago if memory serves

Here are the Champions League lineups for Yanks today

Trusty starts, CCV did not dress

Musah and Pulisic start

Reyna and Campbell on bench

Balogun still hurt

Weah and Weston start

Pepi starts, Richie on bench, Dest and Tillman hurt
