Westbrook Versus The Giants (1 Viewer)

Philly homer here and Westy owner. News flash guys...BWest has not practiced the past two days, and is questionable for this weekend. NYG are giving up an average of 85 yds/game rushing. McNabb's been up and down, the game is on the road, and the Giants D will play tough as they have all season. Westy himself has been up and down because of health, and I'd avoid this match up all together.I am benching BWest for Slaton. Good luck to those with less tempting options.
Good to know.Too bad my FA deadline is Fridays at 10 CST and the last update I had from FBG said he was healthy as he's been all year and sat out one practice just to "rest".Of course, this morning (in the "Friday Night Update") I learned the tidbit that he didn't practice on Fri. and is questionable for tommorrow. Something even Sportsline is telling me now.All too often this year, FBG has given too little info and too late. This is just one example. Every Sunday the player updates (even on the late breaking news page) is rife with more. I can usually learn more from the local one hour early morning FF sports radio show, and at least it gives me time to figure out what to do with the info.I know it's the wrong thread for this, but I've been a subscriber for many years and considering cancelling next year. I can get this info for free. The reason I pay is that I don't have time to comb the local news outlets on my players to find out this type of thing BEFORE it's too late. If they're not doing that for me, then what am I paying for?Signed,Frustrated Westbrook owner in a must win playoff week 14

He's shown that to the Giants in the past. In 11 games against them, he has 825 yards on 156 carries and seven touchdowns. He has 39 catches for 369 yards and four TDs. Add 'em all up, and in 11 games against the Giants, he's averaged 108.5 yards and a touchdown. That doesn't even count the 84-yard punt return he stuck the Giants with in 2003.

This Giants team seems to be the best they've fielded since the Parcells days though. The Giants started their ascent late last season. If we are to believe that he was pretty wounded when they played in week 10, we have to look at the week 14 game from last season. 20 carries for 116 yards, 0tds5 catches for 38 and, 1 td25 points in PPR leagues I have a hard time seeing him product those type of numbers again for some reason. For one thing, the game is at the Meadowlands.

Report: Westbrook will start Week 14

Brian Westbrook, RB PHI

News: ESPN is reporting that Brian Westbrook (knee, ankle) will start in Week 14 at the N.Y. Giants despite missing practice Thursday and Friday. Eagles coach Andy Reid didn't want to work his prized running back on artificial turf with the rest of the team, but did deem him ready to play Friday barring any setbacks. "He should be able to go," Reid said after Friday's practice. "He'll be fine."

Analysis: Westbrook, who has battled injuries for a good part of the season, was having some ho-hum efforts until breaking out with the four scores last week at home vs. Arizona in an effort no one thought he'd be able to produce. He is going to have a tougher time against a stacked Giants defense, but Westbrook is still worth starting in most Fantasy formats as a legit TD threat. Keep in mind that while he did have just 59 total yards against them in an earlier meeting, he did previously run a streak of nine straight games with a touchdown and/or 100 total yards against the G-Men. Assuming he's active on Sunday (Fantasy Football Today will have the official word on that), consider him a No. 2 option for the game.

Not sure who posted it before, but teams that played the previous Thursday game seemed to perform pretty well the next week.

I'm going to predict 92yds rushing 1 td, 5-40rec 1td.

131 RuYd, RuTD (30), 72 ReYd, ReTD (40), 6 Recpt, 33 RuAtt....... 41 total fantasy points(ppr)all in all not a bad week

A (relatively) healthy Westbrook has no peer in a PPR league
