I don't agree with you much but I agree 100% here. I really want to like the shows and I listen probably half the time I'm in the car but these people are seriously idiotic. If Cecil and Sigmund got on there they would KILL. They are 100X more informative and funny than those clowns. The only one I like is zigura.

Most of the threads I've seen where bickering follows is when one poster decides to label any opinion other than his as worthless or stupid. It's like they dont want anyone disagreeing with them because it might make it less likely that their posts get quoted in a player spotlight.

I still love the forum and probably won't ever leave. There is still a plethora of worthwhile information. I usually just stay away from the worthless banter.

This problem is not specific to FBG. Although I have not been an avid poster on this MB, I have been on other fantasy football sites. I find the same issues in other places, and my posting is way down because I am tired of dealing with the kind of nonsense than ensues when the flames of stupidity are thrown.Hopefully things will come around as those people get tired of their sport.

Exactly....and that is why I think were are going to start a list of the people like WISCSTLATLMIA ....they just don't get it. They can't contribute to a healthy and growing forum. When you got guys like him....constantly posting trash....you eventually create and allow a very unhealthy culture.We have already recommended 1 week ban for the first offense, 3 month ban for the second offense and a lifetime ban for the 3rd. Taking the trash out will be difficult and time consuming....but we will get them out....ONE TRASH BAG AT A TIME

You will find Amused....that these guys are EVERYWHERE on this forum. We just had enough and are reporting the comments to the Admins. I'm talking it over with the other guys....but we are going to create a list of posters and send them to the admin to be on a watch list. From there....if/when they crap on the threads.....we are just going to be anal and report them.We might have to be hard at first....but this type of posting has been going on so long....its time to be a little extreme at first ....to get the trash out. They will fall in line soon enough.

Huh? OP is the one who ruined his own thread there. Someone (quite correctly) pointed out that his "analysis" wasn't very useful because it was based on a sample of just four games, and ISUDROYSTERS totally lost his #### in post 18. So this guy has been here a month, posts a bunch of asinine topics, and then flies off the handle when he doesn't get the response he wants. The fact that he can't spell and edits each of his posts ten times is just icing on the cake. If "everyone else" was really the problem, then ISUCROIDSTER would have about the same number of threads locked as everyone else who starts threads around here. But a shockingly high percentage of threads he starts end up locked. That's not a coincidence, and it's not because he's the only one "man enough" to report the "trash" he sees around here. It's because he is the trash. He just doesn't know it.

I am happy Im not a part of this...so whether I "just made list" or not...you posters have completely shot down any credibility this forum had.Now. I am sure there are some superb members that offer great insight....Jene is one that stands out to me...in my short time here though all I have seen is adolescent pubic hair measuring going on.Hell...I came here thinking I was joining better forum than my previous one. Maybe this was once a great information sharing forum, maybe there wasn't Internet tough guys around every corner, maybe a "shark" didn't blatenly call himself a shark just because his post count was higher than the other guys...Look at my post count...I must be a noob right? Don't buy into the myth.They're all crap.The FBGs do offer great insight, articles etc. But you pay for that.As for the forums; they sucked before (it's been proven) and they suck now. Random member keeps reading "sharks" posts...therefore adds himself into said "shark" rank because he posts 10 times a day therefore building an unnecessarily high opinion of his own opinions....Seriously though, FBG as a FF site is top notch...I will contribute annually. Riiiight...is it that out of the matrix, that the sharks themselves have peed in the pool so much, that the baby sharks no longer respect what it means to be a shark, and just loosely associate themselves with sharks, eventually calling themselves sharks?Maybe not the actual "sharks" of course...just the non-sharks that label themselves as sharks. But who am I to call a shark a non-shark, when there are a pool full of sharks all crying shark? Because let's be honest...if someone yells shark...I'm not waiting to see if it's a real one or not.

I spend more time here in the offseason, try to make notes on whose posts are worth reading, seek them out, then filter through and see if there are any topics that catch my attention or may be meaningful to my teams or possible trade offers.

If you let the idiots get to you then you'll have a bad experience, look past them and it's an alright place.

I think there is one other problem (with two distinct variations) - aliai.

Generally, it seems as though there are some posters who think it's funny or clever or new to create an alias and then two one of two things:

1) Simply use that alias to pump their own threads, ideas, etc. Always dropping in to defend their altar ego's point of view, etc. These also seem to get used whenever someone wants to start a thinly veiled "WDIS" thread in the SP

2) Or the other "flavor" (which sadly, seems to have grown in popularity) - create an alias to see how far you can take it, how many people you can "catch" in a fishing trip and how many people you can annoy before being given a timeout or being banned. I would really appreciate it if mods would IP ban these people.

One other minor problem is the incosistency of WDIS moderation. Either they should be allowed in the SP or they shouldn't. Whenever anyone reminds the OP about the rules, they are either praised for upholding the forum guidelines - or and more often scolded and put down for being "self appointed forum police". Which is it? WDIS threads are reported...and then seem to stay in the SP for several days. This should be addressed.

I'd say the moderation in general. I understand the mods are busy and there are a lot more important things to do at FBGs in general, but there used to be no tolerance for bypassing the language filter or bad behavior. No warning, you were just gone (I know). And mod presence in the discussions was a lot more prevalent. WDIS threads didn't last long because the mods were here more (at least imo).

I'm pretty sure the smiley face is the root of all evil in the shark pool.

As ridiculous as it sounds, after a couple of years on here I've noticed most arguments go like this:

Shark #1: 10 incredibly long paragraphs of detailed statistics and reasoning. Whether the reasoning is flawed or not doesn't matter b/c Shark #2 is always lurking....

Shark #2: BOLDS a single word out of the entire 10 paragraph original post. He then adds a short sarcastic remark and of course, the dreaded

Shark #1: Calls him out for not contributing.

Shark #2: Tries to discredit Shark #1 and argument blows out of proportion for 3 pages.

Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately, the confrontations that go on in the shark pool bury a lot of good analysis and even worse, keeps a lot of people from wanting to contribute. I know I've personally withheld some unconventional draft strategies simply because I didn't want to deal with starting a thread that I knew wouldn't generate much thoughtful discussion.
