JFC my BIL brought ovr a dogfish Fort....18%. HFS....crazy way to end the night. Man all that NE beer you've been drinking

Broke out a 2007 BCS last night. Bottled 10/11/2007.

Holding up very very well right now.
not sure I'l make it with my 2nd bottle of rare. The regular and barleywine possible, maybe coffee and reagl too..but not sure rare will make it till next Crhistmas.
I'm barely sure this is even English, so it deserves a like.
Yeah that's a hot mess of words lol. What I meant was that I don't think I'll be able to hold that BCBS Rare until next Christmas or longer it was that good.

AB InBev bought Breckenridge last week, adding them to the craft group that already has Goose Island, 10 Barrel, Elysian, Blue Point and a few others.

Up north between Minocqua and Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Last night went local with O'so hop whooping' and not so local with Alaskan Icy Bay ipa.

Bought a handful of New Glarus for tonight. They didn't have any Central Waters Bourbon Barrel stout or scotch ale so I am a bit disappointed. Thought for sure they would have it....they almost always sit for awhile up here.

Might have to make a second run before the snow storm tonight to help my creativity while I make some award winning chili.

I picked up a nice selection of Christmas treats at a liquor store in Dayton, OH last night:

Thirsty Dog Siberian Night imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels
What did you think of this one Buck?

I really liked it. I got a nice chocolate and coconut flavor with hint of Bourbon with a little alcohol burn but in a good way.

Sunday:

Celebration x3

Molson x3

Monday:

Celebration x2

Wine

Today:

Sierra Nevada Wild Hop IPA

Delirium Noel

Helped with a flight of - Four Mile Brown and White (local-ish porter), Kulmbacher Schwarzbier, Clown Shoes Clementine White, and DFH Theobroma

Ommegang Lovely, Dark and Deep

I really liked the bourbon barrel-aged Siberian Night as well. I first experienced it a couple years ago at GABF and my friend from Pennsylvania sent me a bottle last year, so I was pumped to find a 4-pack on the shelves over Christmas. I also got a 4-pack of Thirsty Dog's Wulver wee heavy ale aged in bourbon barrels (12% ABV), which was fantastic as well. That is another style you should definitely check out if you like big, malty beers. Thirsty Dog does some really impressive barrel-aged stuff.

Lots of Mexican beer. Lots.
Big fan of the Modelo group. Tecate is an enjoyable crap.
When my brother left ABInbev, he had a ton of coupons for free Modelo Especial he gave me. I've been drinking them on the side for months.

Tastes like a decent Pilsner ####ed a Corona.
Yeah I like Modelo Especial. Not afraid to say I love a nice light Mexican beer. I also have a soft spot for Pacifico. Not a big Corona or Sol guy though.

thanks for the info buck. i know i should in theory step out of my box and try other things but i really am content with a stout/porter. i'm sure i will make the leap, but right now just like rereading the first chapter of the book....

Best new brewery

In a year when breweries opened left and right and Alexandria’s Port City was named the Small Brewing Company of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival, this area’s best and most consistent beers came from a new brewery in Dulles. Ocelot Brewing, led by brewer Mike McCarthy and co-founder Adrien Widman, released a string of stellar IPAs, all beautifully balanced between a dry, West Coast-style malt backbone and rich, tropical hop flavors. The recent See the Light Imperial IPA was a wonderfully nuanced, full-bodied beer, and less than 7 percent ABV. The only knock against Ocelot is that the owners don’t like to brew the same beer more than twice a year. This means your beer is going to be fresh, but it also means your new favorite ale won’t be in stock for long.

Received a 6 pack of "Tell-Tale Heart" IPA for Christmas, & it was damn good...7.5% though, a little too light for my palette..

That's awesome! Congrats on the recognition!

Saw this on Facebook. Very cool!

Central Waters Bourbon Barrel stout on tap in Minocqua.
Awesome beer. I went to my store to purchase a 4 pack, the beer guy apologized stating he was led to believe that they would be able to order extra cases as the second wave of distribution came through so he sold cases to people. Come to find out what hit the market is all that would be available.

That's awesome!! Congrats Ocelot!!

Bissell Bros Swish and now working on a growler of Hill Farmstead Society & Solitude #5. Both awesome.
Where are you getting all of these New England beers from? Do you have a reliable beer trading partner up there?

It's kind of crazy how all of these New England IPAs from Tree House, Trillium, Maine Beer Co., Lawson's, and Hill Farmstead have all vaulted up the BeerAdvocate Top 250 rankings over the past year or so. I have to admit I've been a little skeptical of the fanfare associated with these New England IPAs, particularly after being underwhelmed by some of Lawson's IPAs at GABF -- although, in fairness, I was kind of drunk and my palate was probably blown by that point. But these New England IPAs seem to be getting consistently great reviews from you, and I trust your taste buds. I need to get my hands on some of these beers to further evaluate.
