What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

My beer store got a keg of Born Yesterday as well as bottles....enjoying one now...a little less fruit and more dank than the bottles. Ridiculously good.

If I had an empty growler on me Id get it filled.

Bend, Oregon has produced yet another gem with Way Out West Brewing.  Their Westwater Pale Ale is a winner and their Work From Home IPA is solid too (great name for a beer).

Obligatory shout out to Larry Bell for Two Hearted. I honestly can’t think of another American beer that has been so delicious, consistent, and relevant for two freaking decades. And it’s under ten freaking dollars a sixer and always floating around fresh as can be. If craft beer had a HOF, Two Hearted would be a unanimous first ballot inductee.
Yeah, that's my go-to when I'm in Michigan.  Love it.  Founders All Day IPA also good and they sell the 15-pack of cans out here for $15.99, which is a great price.  Wish I could find Two Hearted out here.

Gonna need to go reload on Born Yesterday. Looked at my FB beer group pictures of this year vs last — this year’s version is much darker, almost amber, and much less hazy. Still effing delicious, but looks very different.

Founders Mosaic that I found in my fridge.  A little old but still solid. I already took Monday AM off, going full tilt for the Lions tonight.

Porter season is upon us and I found a great one last night while trick or treating in the neighborhood- Barley Johns Old 8 Porter in 16 oz cans. From New Richmond WI.

80s I see they are releasing Canadian Breakfast in December. Looking like at least $25 per bottle. Worth it in your opinion or kinda like KBS?

I will be getting tickets for that. Well worth it- not like kbs at all. It's aged in maple syrup barrels, not bourbon. It's sweeter but it's insanely good.

Glorious, Born Yesterday, And 18th Street’s new APA Velvet Cashmere included in today’s lineup. Will prolly bust out a big stout later, maybe Viking Funeral, Darkness, or #####es’ Bank.

Tonight while watching Miami/Va Tech and the Wild/Hawks game, I will have:

Avery Tequilacerbus

Evil Twin Mexican Biscotti Cake Break

New Holland Dragons Milk Bourbon Barrel Aged

nothing too exotic. have erdinger oktoberfest, lagunitas dark swan (sour), and pacifico in house at the moment

edit: don't drink as much as i used to.  typically have some german and belgian around

Wife works right near this place.  Been wanting to check it out and now I’m totally in.

Glorious is better than Born Yesterday. Yeah, I said it.

Think I’m gonna crack a scotch-BA Leopold (scotch ale) from Argus next — crappy brewery for the most part, but this is, by far, their highest rated beer, and one of my friends says that it’s better than Backwoods *******, which is kind of hard to believe IMO. Guess we’ll see...

They're as good as Schramms IMO. Just the smell of any of their PB&J meads will make you a believer...then when you taste it you'll think some crazy witchcraft is going on. Lol.

Forgot I also tried their Bangkok mead (Ginger and butterfly pea blossoms. Crazy purple color). INSANE.

Having brunch tomorrow and stopping by afterwards.  Thanks for the recommendation.  I’ll report back.

BA Foothills Sexual Chocolate. So much better than their regular venture. North Carolina is right up there with their Bourbon Stouts with Olde Hickory Event Horizon, Lindley Park, Wicked Weeds Dark Age and this offering. Very impressed.

I have a bomber of this. After having sampled a different bottle I need to save it for a bottle share.  Very good but too rich and spicy for more than 8 ounces or so.
Knowing this, I won’t open it but lay it down for a rest. I’ll open a Xocoveza Charred instead

For realz. They just opened a few months ago but are already winning all kinds of medals....They won Huna Fest earlier this year for best beer and brewery before they even had a taproom...a friggin mead and meadery. Their PB&J meads are stellar. You'll be hearing about them soon no doubt.

Their stuff sounds so good. It sucks that high end mead is so difficult to get. I guess I should just be fortunate I live 30 mins from Schramms but there are a couple other places that are doing some really creative stuff.

Gotta package of iPas from a friend in San Diego.  Pizza port swammi- good, abnormal Nelson double double-VERY good.

I took the New Glarus hard hat tour yesterday and enjoyed it. Beautiful facility. Had a ton of NG beers including the R&D Vintage 2016. I'm not a sour fan in general but it was outstanding.

Pipeworks Grungiest. Not as good as Lupine but a really good ipa. Also had Black Butte Porter XXwhatever. Outstanding porter.

Scored a couple of small batch one offs from Bare Hands in a local trade: Turbulent Times, standard DDH NE IPA — excellent, ton of Citra and Mosaic. And Strawberry Milkshake, a NE DIPA w/ fresh strawberries, vanilla bean, and lactose — WOW!!! Best strawberry beer I’ve had, ever, and very easily. Top handful of fruited IPAs I’ve ever had also. Tart, not sweet, and getting a huge hop hit with tart berry and slight vanilla in the background. Bare Hands making a run at being one of the best breweries in IN IMO. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

^Civil Society did 2 collabs with Slim Pickens Cider n Mead called Schmedium...the first was a strawberry pineapple IPA, it was the best fruit IPA I've ever had. I wish they'd brew it again...the second was peach and guava...it was good but nowhere near as good as batch 1.

Tonight I'm enjoying Trillium Sleeper Street and DDH Melcher Street.

Had the dark swan the other day at a bar and it was very meh.  Tasted like grape juice.

Dark Swan is not a good representative of their sours, I much prefer Aunt Sally, especially fruited versions.
