What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (9 Viewers)

Bacardi and Cokes.....4 deep and just watched the Rock and Roll induction on HBO(not new, but still awesome)

life is good

Switching from Leinenkeugal (sp?) Oktoberfest to 24 oz. cans of Honey Brown so I don't have to go down the stairs as often.

Wandered into the cooler at Bells last night, They had batch 11,000 entitled "This one goes to 11" in limited numbers. Got a few, got the last of it. Like a combination of Two Hearted and Hopslam. Of course I have a headache now.

Send me some 11,000? (not a joke)

This somehow sounds like it could be a case of 2 wrongs make a right for me.

You inspired me to break out a Bell's Batch 10,000 that I have had cellaring. Followed it up with a Kuhnhenn 9 Belgian Strong. I might have to crack open some Expedition Stout for the Michigan game tonight.

Tonight had a couple Dale's Pale Ales and Revolution Anti-Hero. Gonna go with a couple of Founders Breakfast Stouts to cap off the night.

Was really close to go up to Half Acre to get some Sticky Fat but I was disciplined and didn't get another overpriced bomber.

Grand Teton 2011 Wake Up Call, which is an Imperial Coffee Porter. Very good beer. :banned:
This sounds like my kind of beer. May I ask where you got it?
Stouts and Porters are what I drink, and I tend to like the chocolate/mocha/coffee varieties. I got Wake Up Call at Binny's but it's one of their limited editions so once it's gone it's gone. The one in Glen Ellyn had 5 left when I got mine a few months ago or so.

You border huggers or anyone with a real selection of imports should do anything you can to get yours hands on anything made by Dieu Du Ciel (a montreal microbrewery). Insane brews, and The Bros have given some of them a perfect score.

They're mostly all seasonal, so getting your hands on them is a fine art, but worth every damn single penny

 to The Bros, to Dieu du Ciel. I've never had a bad beer of theirs. A bit pricey though. Peche Mortel is an all-time great.

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1141For anyone who wants to check out their ratings and such. When I worked in Montreal I nearly turned into an alcoholic because of this microbrewery. They are true artists, and of everywhere Ive visited in the world, is easily in my top 3 breweries.Peche Mortel and Soltice D'Hiver are 2 beer memories I will take to the grave.

So I've never bothered trying the Oktoberfest beers before, but now I love them. What are some "German Marzen" beers I can get year-round?

LinkNot my favorite, but it's the only one I know of thats available year round. Still pretty good. You should be able to get it at the Party Source for around ten bucks.

Very happy that Breakfast stout has once again returned. Eagerly anticipating the return of Great Lakes' Christmas Ale.

Yesterday was a good day.

A visit to Solemn Oath Brewery in Naperville, Il

Tried

Man v Internet - A great Imperial Belgium Red Ale checking in at 9.5%.

Khlorost Escobar - Tastes a little fruity / lemony to start and finishes with a hint of coffee. Interesting, not something I'd drink often though.

Snaggletooth Bandana - Above average IPA

Then later in the day, my buddy handed me a 6 of Zombie Dust

How stupid am I? Paid $22.99 for a 4-pack of Bourbon County Stout at my local beer shop tonight. I'm happy, but feel like I've been taken for a ride by the craft beer hype.

Not stupid at all. It's $5 a beer, no? You pay that for a miller lite at the bar. :shrug:And you're only paying this type of price for a select few beers a couple of times of year.

Had one last weekend. I'm not really a GI fan, but I'd pay that and not think twice about it. Great night cap / after dinner drink.
