What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

That Stone experimental brewery: Stochasticity Grapefruit Slam IPA. Real tasty with a beautiful citrus note. Liberty Street 42nd Parallel DIPA and Darkhorse Plead the 5th. All really good beers.

 
My brother started a new job today doing production planning for MillerCoors in Golden, CO. He is responsible for forecasting demand for each line of MillersCoors products and then scheduling the production and distribution of the products to meet consumer demand. He is basically telling the brewers how much to brew of each beer so that they can meet his forecasted product demands. It's sounds like it will be a pretty awesome gig. As a fringe benefit, Coors employees get 3 cases of any MillerCoors product for free each month. Essentially Christo's dream job.

Ruination bombers are not bad.

All the Oskar Blues 4 packs are like $16 here, is this normal? Ten Fiddy looks really good but not sure if $4/can is worth a grocery store purchase.

I had a friend who worked as an engineer for MillerCoors back in Chicago who said that, if you make friends with the warehouse guys, they will generally just fill your car up with as much free beer as you want using a forklift.

I'm not really sure what we're going to do with all this macro lager. I guess it will be good to have for summer house parties and beer kickball and rugby games this summer.

My neighbor works for MillerCoors and gets one case per month. He doesn't drink beer and normally gives it away or donates it for our block parties. A few months ago I asked him if he could get Big Eddy, and he said it is available at times, not every month. That's some great beer. There's really nothing else they make that I would drink under normal circumstances.

Yeah, it's strange having access to so much free beer that I will probably very rarely drink. I'm hoping that my brother will have access to some A.C. Golden products. They've been putting out some really good sour wild ales recently. Their Framboise Noir was great. We just found out that he has a random close connection to the Director of Sales for A.C. Golden, so that could be a nice connection to have. I'll tell him to watch out for that Big Eddy as well.

Liberty Half Baked DIPA. Brewed with potatoes and hemp. It's very hoppy, but a dull hoppy, no citrus bite. Heavy on malt for the style.

 
Did a growler of a brand new single IPA from my neighborhood brewery Iron Fist. It's called Counter Strike. 6.5% ABV. They told me I got the first growler tag! Hoppy and fairly bitter.

They've increased their distribution (through Stone) and this one is definitely more marketable than their other stuff so I'm sure you'll start seeing it around the country in the next few months.

 
Chimay Blue. Sitting on the back patio with Mrs. Karpis...she's drinking a skinny margarita because she's "dieting." Kids are at grandmas.

Good times. Listening to that old Norah Jones album....you know the one. Nights like this are the ones you'll think back to when you're 85 in a nursing home.

It's Mother's Day, drinking a moms hefeweizen.

Hopus ale already down the hatch.

Have a zombie dust, pinkus hefeweizen, and a sweetwater happy ending on deck.

 
Perrin Grapefruit IPA. Meh. It's a newer West Michigan brewery. I love grapefruit, but it overwhelms the IPA and tastes like a fruit beer. The Stone Grapefruit IPA blows this away.

 
Latitude is better.

Rebel isn't bad. I do like their IPL.

I don't like the lager and most of the others, but they've done a pretty good job with the IPAs.
